Nice restaurant with some very yummy meals. Service wasn’t great on the first visit but the manage made up for it and was so lovely! Would come back again for sure
A nice place to eat and have a relaxing time with friend/family. Great food, owner always available to gear from guest and very pleasant. Will definitely come again
It is refreshing to have such high quality and authentic pan-Caribbean food in south London. While the service was a bit slow, we were served a starter on the house, and at the end of the meal our birthday celebrant was treated to a delicious cake, also on the house. Looking forward to going back soon!
Great food & lovely people. Unfortunately we waited over an hour for our drinks order to be taken and a further 30 minutes for the food order to be taken. Food took a long time to arrive, It was very busy and we noticed that that there were a lot of take-away meals going out which must have been slowing down the kitchen but we arrived at 7pm and didn't leave until after 10pm having had 2 courses. Also £13 for desert is pretty steep - £7.50 for bread & butter pudding + another £5.50 for custard! Overall a bit disappointing and we won't be going back.
Lovely chilled birthday meal at Sugarcane. Went for the sharing plate, but definitely need to go back for the goat curry and oxtail stew.

Great food and drinks, friendly service but a little slow. We’ll be back!
Excellent food! Great customer service also, went the extra mile on a busy day. Top man
Fabulous food, friendly attentive and speedy service. Great stuff! Thank you.
Really excited to go but food was poor, Roti was just a Tesco’s wrap, rice was dry and seemed a day old. Equally potions were small and we hate to wait a long time,
Unfortunately, the worst Caribbean food I’ve had in my life. When we arrived we were met by lovely staff (who we can’t say a single bad word about; the waitress and waiter who tended to us were both fantastic) that quickly gave us a table and our menus. My boyfriend asked what was popular/nice on the menu and in the end we got: -The Cancun Special (rice and peas W/ curry goat and a side salad) -The 1/2 jerk chicken with 2 sides (roti and mac&cheese) - Jerk rice (we were given it by accident) The jerk chicken was more than just charred and blackened by the grill (we eat real jerk so we know, ok)- it was burnt and extremely dry but luckily my bf let me have the thigh and drumstick which was not inedible. My boyfriend had the breast and wing- the breast was so dry (which is typical with breast, but hence why when I use breast I inject it with marinade, so here’s a little suggestion for you guys.. sigh) he left a lot of it, and for a man who usually eats chicken all the way to the bone, that says a lot. The rice & peas was just terrible. I don’t even wanna go into it. Couldn’t really taste any of the important components. The jerk rice was surprisingly really nice, despite us receiving it by accident. It was a welcomed accident now, especially in retrospect. Was the nicest thing on our table. The curry goat was under seasoned, the gravy was more of a watery consistency than a proper Caribbean curry- the meat was definitely tender but also under seasoned. A massive piece of ginger (at least the size of a £2 coin) was left in the curry which my boyfriend accidentally bit into. Terrible. The roti was supposed to be filled with chickpeas, so we assumed it would be like Trinidadian doubles... but oh how gravely mistaken we were. It was just a thick wrap of roti with barely any filling. We took a bite each and left it. Last but not least the Mac and cheese.... that was absolutely terrible- I could say revolting but I don’t want to seem unreasonable, as the point of this review is not to trash this restaurant, as we wanted soooo badly to enjoy the food, but I must describe this Mac and cheese. It should have been called Mac and pumpkin because all we could taste was an overwhelmingly sweet pumpkin flavour and unseasoned penne pasta. And it was watery, as if maybe it wasn’t drained well? Not sure what could’ve caused that. Again, to conclude, eat here at your own risk, the food is ... but the floor staff were super super super lovely. But we don’t go to restaurants for the staff do we? Sigh Ps. The 2 stars is simply just for the customer service. Literally.
Great food and really lovely staff! We were their first guests after they opened for indoor dining. We had been waiting for ages to visit and weren’t disappointed. Sugarcane’s fun music added to the food and warm spirit - just right!
