Absolutely wonderful ! Food , service , ambient - *****
Was a bit nervous after reading mixed reviews but so glad we went here. Arrived 15 minutes earlier than our booking and were seated quickly. Orders were taken promptly and food arrived in good time. The portions were very generous and food was very tasty. Staff were all very friendly. If I lived nearby this would become a sure favourite!
Awful slow service. Other tables were complaining and some walked out. They also didn’t have our first choice from the menu.
We went for a pre-theatre dinner and a few drinks. The food was lovely and reasonably priced for that area and the service was very good. Would definitely go back!
Food, beer and service all great. Thank you very much.
Loved the Curry Wurst and next time will make room for strudel, wunderbar
We went for dinner before a show at the Royal Albert Hall. Tried the pork shoulder, spaetzle and apple strudel -tasty hearty fare decently priced. Lovely friendly waitress. Would recommend!
Food was good, but the service was atrocious. It can’t be possible to wait 40-45 minutes for an Apfelstrudel that never came. They were severely understaffed on all levels!
Service was slow and the staff was not as attentive as would be expected.
We lived in Germany for 4 years and we can say that the food is really authentic. The Spätzle and the Sweinebraten were glorious and German beer is of course German beer...
The food & wine are excellent but the service is (still) inattentive & slow.
The service and atmosphere were pleasant but the food was only lukewarm and I think expensive for what it was.
Amazing food, nice atmosphere, friendly staff. Good veggie and vegan options too.
Great food Terrible Service very disorganised staff , drinks arrived after the food and were wrong
Not great if you expect authentic German food or attentive service.
The restaurant is lovely and our waitress was a stunning beauty, but unfortunately she did not do her job that well. She is very young and I do get that she is not fast, but we waited 30 mins for her to take our first order. We had to wait for ages for her to collect dirty dishes, she did not ask us if we want more beer or how the food was. She was very slow and we kinda had to "run after her" to get a dessert and the bill. Very sad. Please train your service better, thanks
The food was delicious but the service was shockingly slow! Had to wait half an hour just for our drink and food order to be taken.
Good food ! Good beer ! Good service ! Good price ! Great environment!:)
Great food and great service. Nice ambience and wonderful setting
Booked for a group of two tables but we managed to squeeze onto one, the staff didn't mind. We had one member of the party who had to use the ramp to get in and the staff were most helpful.
Perfect - delicious food, great service, good value. Loved it.
Arrived just before 5 and was sat straight away decor nothing like we thought it would be but nice anyway. Went to order a stein from tap and the lines were being cleaned so had a bottles beer instead. The place was empty apart from a couple that were sitting behind us We place out order and it came out really quick the food was amazing we had a sharing board for 2 with the mixed bread basket on the side perfect 👌 For afters we then had the sharing pancakes that do take 30 mins to cook so ordered that before we finished our meal when they arrived omg homemade custard so good 😊 For 2 people the price wasn’t too bad and they had definitely filled us up 👍🏻👍🏻
we were not informed that a pre-booked group, which arrived 30 minutes after us, had to be served before us ..words were exchanged ! but the food when it came was excellent .
Nice atmosphere nice food poor service. No attention and an hours wait for food.
great place, lovely food at very competitive prices, we shall def be going back.
Lovely restaurant, food came quickly but after that service was slightly slow
Food was excellent with generous portions and a good selection. The restaurant is modern but cosy.
Beautiful space, service was with a smile but on the slower side. Some dishes were brilliant and others lackluster side. Generally would give it another try if in the area but wouldn’t go out of my way.
Slow service on the quick menu. Worried so much we would not make the theatre which we had told staff about at start
good food and beer - service only OK and meals served at different times but still worth a visit
Great beer, great food, great place to have a dinner before you join to the Royal Albert Hall.
The waitress was not very enthusiastic and the bread we ordered was frozen. I would understand if it had been a busy night but there was almost no one else there. However the food portion was good and tasty.
Service with a smile would have been nice. Food was very tasty and well presented but irritating one main was forgotten and arrived 10-15 minutes after the others. However, would go again.
1hr 20 min wait for a starter that consisted on 1 bread basket and 1 bowl of soup...they weren’t even busy. Food was ok but a bit of gristle in the sausage put me off a bit.
nice place ,good food but service very very slow . if this was a pre-theatre lunch would have missed performance
Lovely restaurant with good food and for the area affordable prices
Great location if you are visiting the Royal Albert Hall, fabulous food and good beer, just unfortunate that the service was slow, we had to abandon our dessert!
Food was not as expected.. Schnitzel was tough and pretzels were ordinary.
Spent time perusing wine list, then ordered - “We’re out of that wine”. Okay, this one? “We’re out of that too.” Of course, they did have a higher priced wine available. Soup was excellent! Then waited a long time for mains. Even asked about their status and was told 10 more minutes. When we did receive the beef stroganoff the portions were miniature compared the the other mains. We reside nearby, but won’t be returning.
Great place! We all had sausages mash and pickled cabbage. Delish! Will go again.
Friendly, helpful staff . Good choice of food and drinks at reasonable prices. What’s not to like?
We had a very nice dinner here. It isn’t the most authentic German experience in London but the ambience is nice (despite us being in an empty restaurant at 7:30 on a Saturday) and the food is good enough. It is probably a good spot to eat before going to the Royal Albert Hall. We would return.
Extremely attentive and friendly staff! The food was great and we had a lovely time.
It is a contemporary modern restaurant and looks very clean and fresh. The food was very good and I liked that we could have sharing platters. A great place to eat when seeing a concert at the Albert Hall.
Nice decor, nice food, service appalling. Had to ask for drinks throughout. Absolutely no waiter presence at all. No hint of a maitre d’ or somebody in charge. Food ordered wasn’t correct but ate anyway as going to theatre. Side orders not delivered but still charged for. Even though we didn’t complain it was pretty obvious from the beginning we had terrible service and there was no acknowledgement of this. Very disappointing as we had high hopes.
All was well apart from the seating being a bit uncomfortable but on the whole we had a great time
Had my birthday dinner there and it was amazing. Food is just delicious and the staff are so sweet and thoughtful. It has a very high quality informal feel to it, but premium at the same time. I love Stein's in Kingston upon Thames, but this is really special - will be back very shortly for sure.........
Great location for a pre/post theatre meal. Authentic German food in a contemporary yet elegant setting! Our restaurant of choice for when we visit the Royal Albert Hall.
Lovely authentic German restaurant. Great food and wine. Try the obatzda.
Nice place, nice staff and good food. I loved it.
