lovely informal local restaurant. I had the two salads and fish cake which was more than enough for lunch. Smoothies almost a meal in themselves. really good place to meet for a chat with friends over a healthy lunch
Amazing food, great decor and friendly staff. What more do you need? Good price? It's got that too! One of my favourite restaurants in South East London
Very friendly service. Great to find a restaurant that serves food to suit vegetarians, meat eaters and gluten free diets. We all really enjoyed our food.
The food was exceptional, the staff were brilliant and the prices were very reasonable. A great addition to Lordship Lane and I would recommend this local treasure to anyone.
Good local casual restaurant. Friendly staff. Tasty dishes. Courgette fritters/Halloumi chips shared Tuna x1 Dry rubbed pork x1 Crumble shared. Bottle wine. £92.00 for 2. Will we return...yes.
Good quality food with a range of veggie options as well as interesting meat and fish choices, friendly staff. An enjoyable evening all in all.
Spinach's set lunch of 1 portion of protein and 2 salads was excellent value. We had delicious Thai Fishcakes with pea and samphire salad and sweet potato, yogurt and avocado salad. It made a really interesting meal. The service was friendly and helpful
First time I have been but it won't be the last. Nice place, good service, good food. Pity about the paintings on the wall alongside my table, I had to buy one!
Very tasty food but small portions and quite expensive. Nice atmosphere though: really peaceful and well decorated. Staff is friendly. Neighbourhood is nice and quiet. Great for people allergic to gluten or anyone looking for nice unconventional flavours!
Great staff, nice food. Only thing we ordered a cocktail (Prosecco base) and the glass arrived half full. When we questioned this we were told that their Champange flutes were particularly big hence only half filled. To us the glasses didn't look particularly big and considering that the cocktails are £8.50 each and Prosecco not Champange based we felt short changed. I would either change the glasses or fill the glass a little over half full (it didn't need to be filled to the brim just a little over half way). It just spoils the experience.
First visit to Spinach and I will definitely return. The restaurant looked lovely and the menu was interesting with both big and small plates to choose from. Good service and a good choice of wine and cocktails.
Absolutely delicious! Ordered sharing dishes, original combinations, fresh seasonal ingredients, perfect measures. Nice service. Atmosphere in back room a little stark on arrival but got cosy with a good buzz as it filled up.
Delicious food, pleasant surroundings. The waiting staff were attentive and a small problem dealt with quickly and efficiently. We would definitely go again! And again for the brownies!
Wonderful and creative food. The staff are attentive and helpful. We would highly recommend. We are vegetarian and had lots of lovely options. Thank you
Such a lovely spot, the food was really delish, loses a point for not having the champagne we ordered in stock. Can't fault it otherwise.
Really nice restaurant. Salads were interesting combinations and tasty. The chicken was delicious. Very nice staff and welcoming. They feel confident that you will enjoy your food!!
I love this restaurant and go often but I think as it is becoming popular the service is slightly going down, had to ask several times for an extra glass for proseco, if you buy proceco by glass be aware that it is less than half a glass, and also the bill was a lot higher than expected but we had a great time.
Very pretty establishment and extremely friendly and welcoming staff. Good, speedy service and the food was really good. They have something for everyone, but especially those leaning towards vegetarian or vegan dishes, will be pleasantly surprised. The Tuna steak I had was delicious. Highly recommend it
The food was good but the service was extremely slow and the staff weren't apologetic or very friendly. Also fruit cocktail we ordered was described as having watermelon in it but it in fact must have just had watermelon syrup as it was incredibly sweet and sickly. Had to dilute it with fizzy water.
Pleasant setting and interesting selection of small plates. Just missing a little on execution so missing a final zing of flavour and freshness . Probably not somewhere I would return to
Very relaxed, great service and wonderful food!!!! This is s real gem and definitely worth a visit. The tuna is out of this world too!
Lovely rustic feel and wonderful combinations of flavours in the dishes. We chose a selection of smaller dishes rather than the main menu but can't wait to try everything else they have to offer. All the dishes we tried were delicious! Will definitely go again.
Really delicious flavours and great service. The cauliflower with chilli sauce and the goats cheese balls were particularly delicious. Nice range of drinks too. We will definitely be back.
Food was cold when it eventually arrived. Service friendly and all salads described. One of our guests requested the dish to be changed as they had a food allergy and this was done. Pity about the cold food otherwise would consider a revisit.
Great menu, very well done and lovely laid back setting with charming staff. Great for the pescatarian wife but also enough meat on the menu if you are not that way inclined.
Very friendly welcome. Refreshingly different menu. Something for everyone Would definitely recommend. Steak looked amazing. Starters yummy. Atmosphere was very comfortable Try it for yourself.
The staff were welcoming, friendly, and helpful. We ordered main dishes and a dessert, all of which were absolutely delicious. We would highly recommend Spinach.
Fantastic food, fantastic wine, fantastic service and fantastic atmosphere! Couldn't recommend this place highly enough. Everything was cooked to perfection and seasoned beautifully. The house wine was delicious too! I will definitely be returning
Excellent restaurant really good quality fresh food will definitely come again. Good drinks selection. I only have one very small criticism, this being with the lamb shoulder small plate, I think it could have had a bit more spice to it. I can see why they wouldn't want to over do it as the meat is extremely good quality and they probably want it to speak for itself but unfortunately this makes the sauce over power meat, a bit more kick and it would balance it out a bit better. I feel a bit bad for making a tiny criticism as overall excellent.
Very interesting choice of salads, all tasted delicious (tried all four between our party of four!). Salmon, cod and chicken also delicious, cooked perfectly. Only had room for coffee as the portions were big. Excellent service.
Wine and main courses were delicious! Pork tenderloin was a particular hit. We were disappointed that they'd run out of two of the three dessert options - the prospect of a 'chocolate pot' was one of the things that had led us to Spinach. But overall, would highly recommend! (And next time we'll reserve our dessert on arrival.)
Staff were super friendly, food was consistently excellent. Didn't really know what to expect as had heard it was mainly vegetarian but there were plenty of superb meat options. Highly recommended
Lovely, friendly staff and very high quality, interesting dishes on both the vegetarian and meaty side. The wine selection was also well-considered. The restaurant is also beautifully and simply decorated. Excellent instagram fodder!
Visited ona Saturday evening extremely busy but still Good menu Fantastic food Extremly friendly staff good service Good chose of drinks Good value But uncomfortable seating
Nice location in Dulwich, with casual "rustic" interior. Starters were interesting in flavour. Mains were generous portions and very tasty. Pork Loin in particular was tender, moist and tasty - not always the case with pork, particularly such large chunks of meat! The desserts were a real let-down. Tiramisu was large but over sweet and not very tasty. Creme Brûlée was horribly sweet and the creme was of such a rigid consistency as to be unrecognisable and I barely managed a third of it. Prices were reasonable.
The food at Spinach is very good which is primarily where the 5 rating comes from and secondly from the excellent service. I do however recommend you avoid a table upstairs where you are subject to all the exhaust from the kitchen. The restaurant on Saturday was very busy, and we booked late, so we had to take what was on offer, sadly the upstairs tables are right above the kitchen and hot air rises. My other gripe is the furniture. They have recycled old wooden furniture but it's really uncomfortable and you may end up sitting on a plank of wood masquerading as a bench. So note to the restaurant, most of what you do is excellent but you really must sort out your terrible furniture.
I've been twice now and had a mix of good and bad each time. I love that there are lots of interesting veggie options and sharing plates. The butternut squash flan was great both times if a little heavy on the garlic. We enjoyed the fritters and goats cheese balls. However the prawns were really inedible, almost floury in texture and the accompanying sauce lacked flavour. Three of us had the chocolate pot puddings and they came out served with melted ice cream just a puddle on the plate and the chocolate pot itself wasn't even fully cooked and still had a solid and cold centre. Really want to like this restaurant but it's got a way to go entice me back again.
Second visit with a different set of friends and we all thoroughly enjoyed our meals where the emphasis is on high quality fresh veg presented with a twist.
Perfect spot for a pre - cinema meal just opposite the Dulwich Picture House. My friend had the cauliflower dish which is apparently a house favourite which he pronounced delicious.
Lovely atmosphere, friendly service with a smile, good wine list, very generous portions, tasty food with lots of options for meat and vegetarians. Would definitely return
Very pleasant atmosphere. Extremely friendly and helpful staff. Great service and delicious, superbly cooked food, which is slighly different to the norm, centering on tasty vegetables.
We had excellent food and our waitress was fantastic. Highly recommend the Gobi cauliflower. We will definitely be coming back to try breakfast and lunch!
Food was fantastic, service great but a little lacking in atmosphere. It feels new so perhaps it's just bedding in, will definitely return for another meal.
Very tasty small plates. As a vege food was interesting and different. Good choice. Service excellent and very friendly staff. Prices fair but not cheap. We were very happy overall.?
Friendly staff and delicious food. Slight mix up with the food all arriving together rather than as starters and mains (friend and I were sharing everything) but didn't detract from a lovely evening. Will be back!
My companion had a Veg burger - which was very tasty but did fall apart a lot! I had lovely parsnip and cardigan soup - very thick. Very satisfying. I would have preferred some soft bread rather than very hard toasted - sourdough? The salad portion was on the small side. But these small gripes were made up for my great service and the food being full of flavour, and the ethos of vegetables being every bit as important as meat. And I'm not even a vegetarian! We will return.
The food is excellent: top quality and very nicely cooked and presented. Quantities are not huge but extremely tasty. Interesting but simple decor and very friendly, helpful and knowledgeable staff.
Mel is amazing! I had the soup of the day, spicy lentil and an open lamb sandwich. Both delicious. I'll be back again very soon.
Delicious food in a relaxed environment. Despite being Valentine's Day there was never a moment we felt pressured to hurry or leave. The tuna steak was particularly tasty.
Nice and quirky ambient, lovely food and friendly staff. We had a selection of small veggie platters to share, perfect for pre cinema (picture house is across the street!) dinner.
