Great food as always, friendly and efficient service. So handy for the Play house too. Good pre-theatre menu although we prefer a la carte.
Fabulous experience. Picked from the Pre-theatre menu, what a choice, Chicken Bhoona was amazing. Staff were very friendly and plenty of them. Will definitely recommend and will be back.
Excellent experience- lovely setting. With great speedy service, polite and welcoming staff. The food was very tasty and I would definitely recommend going Thank you
We were expecting one of the best Indians in Edinburgh but sadly it wasn’t that good. Just average Indian in a very loud and crowded place
Fantastic from start to finish. Wait staff were lovely, we had great service and the food was delicious, and despite us booking the ore theatre menu we were give the entire menu to choose from and out in plenty of time for our show. We will definitely be back here in the future.
Excellent meal and service Good choice on menu and would eat there again. Staff were welcoming and the price was excellent for the quality of the food.
Lovely meal with incredible service. We shared a "main size" Spinach dish and Lamb Karahi; both were awesome. Be sure to ask for one portion of rice for each diner! Really recommend this restaurant
Would definitely recommend this place to any one. Had a lovely meal here with friends. Great atmosphere, lovely food, great choices and very friendly staff.
Fantastic food and great friendly service. Very busy when we were in due to rugby and theatre crowds, but staff very very efficient. Highly recommend!
Perfect early evening meal. Great food and service got us in and away promptly Will eat here again when next back in Edinburgh. I can recommend the chicken Dansak
Service was appalling, slow and got simple things wrong. Food was mis described, everything we tried was very hot, despite assurances of mild-medium... and potions were quite small. Was offered 15% discount, on an overpriced meal, won’t be returning!
We visited on a very busy Saturday night. Unfortunately, the restaurant had no note of our booking. Luckily I had brought a copy of our booking reference and we were able to get a table. The food was very nice but some things were on the expensive side e.g. £4.95 for dips to go with the poppadoms which I thought a bit dear. The pakora starters were excellent. The four of us all enjoyed our main courses. 2 Tikka dishes and 2 Bhoona dishes. The various breads we had were all freshly made and very tasty especially the Tandoori Roti bread. It was very large as well and good value. As I said before, a really nice meal but quite expensive but maybe that is the normal for a restaurant in Edinburgh compared to my local Indian Restaurant, Torranyard in Ayrshire where we are probably spoiled with a great restaurant and great prices.
Shezan is a highly popular, award-winning Indian restaurant, handily directly opposite the Edinburgh Playhouse. The staff are pleasant, welcoming and attentive. The menu is mixed and varied, something for all tastes. For us, though, there was too much heat in everything, which masks the natural tastes and flavours. Maybe that's the way the regulars like it, but for us it was slightly too much. Shezan is an excellent family-run restaurant though, so if you like your food with a bit of a kick, then this is the place for you!
One of the best Indian meals I’ve ever had! Staff were really friendly, it’s great value for money- cannot fault the experience and would recommend it to anyone visiting Edinburgh
Very tasty food and the staff is attentive. Got our food quite fast. Also handy to be able to book online. Would recommend people to eat here.
Fabulous, efficient and friendly service, thanks, we'll be back on our next trip.
Amazing food. No t a standard menu. Specialities included garlic punjabi chicken and Karachi. Naan beautiful Quality fantastic without scary prices!! Service lovely. So friendly staff .
Had a great meal and we enjoyed the experience Service was excellent. And staff were curtious. we will be back again same time next year
Very tasty food and very pleasant waiters .We were having a pre theatre meal. Service was very efficient and we did not feel pressured to vacate our table. Very pleasant dining experience!
Nice food and service. Some bits a little CV fancy / pricey but overall v nice. Great location near hotels and shops. Good options for children.
We had a nice meal. Very tasty, Polite and attentive staff. Made for an excellent Christmas Day dinner. We'll definitely return if we're back in town.
Great service and fabulous food! Our table was ready on arrival. Very easy to book with Quandoo - we usually phone or just turn up!
I’ve been several times and always enjoyed the food, however, I felt with the restaurant being so busy, the quality of the food suffered a bit. I’ll still go back though 😊
tasty food, but came so quickly not sure it wasn't cooked prior to order? waiter was very forward and slightly intimidating. they seemed to want you in and out asap. would not go back
Food is fantastic Best Indian restaurant in Edinburgh by far
Food is great as always, never disappointed with our meals here. Can’t wait to come back for more
Fantastic food served quickly with polite and helpful waiters. Extensive menu. Been here in 2016 and will come again very soon . I will give this restaurant 10/10
We had a really delicious meal last night at Shezan. The food was delicious and the service was really friendly and attentive. It’s very reasonably priced too, would definitely recommend.
The food was really good but it’s not the best setting. We couldn’t have a conversation because the noise level is horrendous! Staff are courteous and can’t complain about the service.
Friendly staff all food fresh and tastes fantastic, fine wine got a table within 5 mins of walking in even though all tables were taken
Arrived slightly early was seated at a table where waiters walked past continually, bumping into my mum's chair. Service was terrible. Waited 15 minutes for drinks. Food was really nice but nobody checked if everything was ok. I asked if I could have paneer with chasni sauce instead of Tikka masala on the menu and was told flat out no!. This was my third time there and normally I rave about the place but I won't be in a hurry. They were quick to bring the bill because they wanted to put someone else in the worst table ever!
A great dining experience service was great and the food was everything you could ask for
Waited 40 minutes for a table even though we had a reservation. Waited 20 minutes to get water because they were “out of clean glasses”. I wish the food was worth it but it really was not that great. We’ve had delicious Indian food in Edinburgh so this was quite disappointing.
Lovely friendly attentive staff, delicious food. Too spicy for my daughter but were knowledgeable and careful concerning her nut allergy and what she should avoid.
Great meal at Shazan Indian restaurant nice friendly staff and atmosphere got starters and meals together no fuss food was first class and same for service great Cheers
Fantastic from start to finish can't fault the service or the food our server jay was very attentive and also the manager who came over a few times to check everything was to our liking the food was outstanding the meat just melted in your mouth the rice was warm and fluffy and the nan was huge no wonder this place keeps getting awards keep up the good work guys
Not our first visit but it’s been some time and it was as good as we remembered. We received a warm friendly greeting, staff very attentive and the food is just amazing. Highly recommend you give it a try.
Excellent freshly prepared Indian food at its best , one of the best options in Edinburgh.
Amazing food and service! Would go back again. Best curry that I have had in a long time. Staff are always there to help and at hand
Good food with friendly service. Felt slightly rushed upon arrival but overall a good restaurant. Garlic Chilli chicken was excellent. Reasonably priced food and drink
Excellent food; excellent service. Thank you. Would definitely come back again. The garlic naan is excellent. Kingfisher on draught now, not Cobra; it’s delicious. Thanks again.
Good food, quick service. The food portion sizes were good, flavoured nicely and came hot. The service was quick, attentive and friendly. Not too sure about the decor - but that’s hardly a problem.
Excellent food and worth the money. The naan breads were massive and very tasty as were the curries, overall a great visit and more tasty than khushis down the road that we normally go to
The staff where excellent and the food was out of this world, so much flavour and spice. We will definitely be return returning for more great food soon
food was great. service could of been a little quicker but overall a good experience. will come again!
Fantastic service, fantastic food, staff couldn't do enough for you. You have got to pay a visit when in Edinburgh. We will be back soon for sure.
Great meal and service, very enjoyable pre theatre dinner. Good location, best Chicken Patia ever had, whole family enjoyed their meal. Will def be back
We have been going to Shezan for a few years now and are always made to feel so very welcome. Friendly helpful staff, excellent food reasonably priced. Our go to restaurant for superb Asian cuisine
Food was good, portions were large, however a roti did not arrive as expected and a waiter tried to replace it with a naan before the roti turned up.
Just great food in a lovely restaurant. The Nan breads are huge and nice and thin, not too doughy like some, and the dishes are full of flavour and well spiced. Award winning restaurant and it shows!
