Sangam’s very title means meeting place, and certainly this gorgeously appointed Indian restaurant in the Stockport region is a meeting for locals to Heald Green and Cheadle that are looking for upscale subcontinental cuisine. Part of a family of restaurants with locations dotted across the Greater Manchester area (the Swadesh and Sangam restaurants), this outpost of the Sangam empire down Wilmslow Road is backed by a top team of chefs, luxurious private dining capabilities, and a popular buffet menu.

Sangam Heald Green’s special offers keep the loyalists loyal and make converts out of newcomers to this Wilmslow Road Indian restaurant. The promotions change regularly, but you can reliably expect deals like the three-course buffet menu, discounts for Cheadle’s NHS workers, students and the armed forces to be on offer. However, perhaps the best way to experience this jewel in the crown of the Stockport and Manchester region’s Indian fine dining options is to take a table proper, and choose from the a la carte menu.

Classic starters here include onion bhaji, vegetable samosas, and a mouth-watering introduction to this Heald Green’s tandoori selection in the form of fish tikka. We can’t recommend Sangam’s thali sets enough – choose from vegetarian, fish and vegetable, meat, or the special meat, vegetable, and king prawn thali, each designed to share between two, and sample a range of delicacies created by the crew in this fantastic Wilmslow Road Indian kitchen. It’s a properly authentic way to dine, and is matched only by the chef’s specialties and the party banquet menu, these latter being four lavish set menus that bring diners looking to celebrate with a large group from across the Cheadle area and as far afield as Stockport and metropolitan Manchester.
