Those familiar with Rodizio Brazil’s Clapham restaurant will be familiar with how things happen at this Brazilian steakhouse favourite. The same holds at the Battersea Rise restaurant. A proper Brazilian cultural event, London has long enjoyed the Brazilian rodizio mode of dining, where wait staff known as passadors circulate among the tables, watching for the small red and green discs that diners use to indicate whether they want service. If the disc is turned green side up, this means you’re ready for another round of freshly carved, barbecued meats.
Choose from over prime 15 cuts of your favoured beast, all carefully grilled over a traditional churrascaria barbecue: chicken and bacon, chicken hearts, chilli chicken and herbed chicken legs, beef rump and cap of rump, sirloin and flank steaks, pork loin with parmesan and pork ribs, legs of lamb and sausage. You might not believe it, but vegetarian options are available at Rodizio Brazil’s Battersea Rise restaurant, too, with plenty of non-meaty but just as authentic Brazilian dishes on offer. For those who’ve enough room in their bellies for a little salsa (the dancing, we mean), Thursday night through to Saturday night sees Rodizio Brazil transforms into a nightclub, plying a danceable trade between Latin America and London.
