Richmond Oriental

Been here a few times but not for a couple of years. To be honest it’s not the place it used to be. Ordered the sizzling mandarin dish which didn’t sizzle..... the griddle was hot but as I ate my food the onion and meat on the top got cold. I enjoyed it but I’m afraid I won’t go back now there is better places to go for the prices Richmond Oriental charge.

We ordered from the a la Carte menu . Seafood combination starter for two was delicious , I then had the seafood sizzler in black pepper sauce this was superb. Can’t wait to go back , restaurant was very busy and they have a good value pre theatre menu also

Been here many times and never had a bad experience either with food or staff. Took a friend who had never been before, for a birthday lunch and she loved everything about it. Will be back.

Food was good as we had heard and experienced from take away. Table service was lacking anything remotely personal and at times felt like we were an inconvenience. A smile goes a long way. I don’t need you to like me I just need to feel like you do.

We made a last minute booking and they were able to fit us in they always make us welcome and remember what our drinks are nothing is too much bother

All waitresses nice and smiley except one When we paid her the bill she didnt even look up at us never mind smile very poor customer interacting

Our family lunch was ruined by our server who was dour and made us feel very uncomfortable, gave no eye contact all throughout the service even when I spoke to her to start a conversation she just completely ignored me. Rude and dismissive attitude, felt like we couldn’t ask for dessert, her attitude was disgusting and at the end made us feel like we had to get out straightaway and while forcing the card machine on us I paid and while the machine started to print out my receipt she turned away from me and just dropped the receipt which land in my lap.

Excellent food, service, ambiance, staff and all at a reasonable cost.

Some of the food had to be sent back as it was not heated properly. Some staff had a brusque, almost unfriendly attitude. Very unusual as we have used the Richmond many times, food and service are usually well above average.

It was a 70th birthday celebration. When I took up cake in afternoon I was impressed that they took a note of name of birthday boy & sang Happy Birthday with his name included later on. Meal was delicious. Atmosphere & service was good. Would recommend.

We were seated at the back near the door and air con. It was quite cold . Starters came very quickly we then had a 40 min wait for main, had to ask twice where the food was . Food was very good and tasty .

Lovely 2 course meal from the lunch menu. Food was lovely, service was fast and attentive. I was surprised at how lovely it is inside, although toilets could use a wee revamp.
