Red Onion

Our group of 6 ladies had a very nice 2 course set lunch washed down with some chilled prosecco.Attentive service and relaxed setting. Only comment is the online price for both was different on the day. However would definately book again.

Lovely staff, nice atmosphere. We enjoyed our dinner. Duck very well cooked with well-balanced sauce. Steak nice as well. We thoroughly enjoyed the scallop starter with chorizo. Would definitely go again.

Very good service, excellent food and nice ambience. Very much appreciated the vegan set menu. Only criticism is of the original table we were offered. This has a pillar right behind the seat which would have been incredibly uncomfortable to sit at, but there was no problem with us moving to another table.

Excellent choice. The service was very Good. We had a lovely evening. We will definitely be back at the Red Onion and would recommend to our friends.

The food was excellent, the restaurant was very busy and extremely loud, with a large bus party which had arrived just before us. Disappointed with the first table offered as there was a pillar directly behind the seat.

Had the pre-theatre menu before attending a concert at the O2 ABC . Great quality of food and superb value for money . Highly recommended .

Great food at a great price yet again. Despite there being a large bus party in, service was prompt and friendly. We'll be back again soon.

Great to see a full Vegan menu. I've forgotten what it's like to have 'choice'. I would definitely recommend to others as a great restaurant for good quality Vegan food.

Food was excellent once again. Pre-Theatre menu gives a good range of choices and reasonable prices for 1, 2 or 3 courses. Main Menu looks good as well, will save that for a special occassion.

Lovely food - very draughty though! Staff kept opening side door causing a howling gale!! We had to ask them twice to close please! They didn't apologise or ask if any warmer! Other diners also agreed! I had to wear my friend's coat throughout meal! Shame - as apart from that good!!

Always exceptional food and service. Would highly recommend and will definitely be returning. Every time my husband and I go to this restaurant they are always updating the menu to ensure the food they serve is in line with the season. Brilliant !

Red onion is one of my favourite restaurants. Food was fab and a lovely relaxed atmosphere. Always nice that John comes out to chat to the clientelle.

Excellent meal and wine and very friendly service. It was just a pity that we had to sit at an uncomfortable table (pillar in bench) until we could move.

That was our second time in red onion, and it didn't disappoint in anyway,the service with a smile at all times I may add in second to none.......and the food we would give it a big fat 10 out of 10 well done John Quigley for the way your restaurant is run with efficiency and cheery happy staff big 👍

pleasant venue with good food in sizeable portions. Staff attentive and polite. Spoilt only by the very loud tour guide who burst into the restaurant followed by thirty or more foreign holiday makers. She then took to the floor ( either assuming the restaurant was hers or she was on the stage) barking instructions at them for all to hear, including the amount they should tip. Perhaps this should have been done on the tour bus! It was certainly grabbing the attention of the couple beside us, who were also raising eyebrows. It is obviously a regular haunt for this particular company so perhaps the management could have a quiet word with her for future visits. although quiet is obviously not part of her vocabulary. Don't be put off though, great place, We will be back, but hopefully not on a tour guide night.

Red Onion is my favourite restaurant in Glasgow. I eat there almost every time I am visiting the city. The early evening menu is just great, and this time I invited two friends along, and both give it full marks for selection, quality and service. Thanks, everyone, for a lovely evening.

Yet another fantastic meal at Red Onion. The food is always excellent and the lunch menu- which is incredibly good value- varies regularly so that there's always something new to try. And the staff are super too - professional and welcoming. Already looking forward to my next visit. Thanks Red Onion!

This was my second visit to Red Onion and it didn't disappoint. Nice ambience and excellent food. We booked Red Onion as we were taking another couple out to dinner and my husband and myself had both been to Red Onion before on separate occassions and we both thoroughly enjoyed the food so we thought this wood be a good choice, and we were right. Our friends really liked the venue and enjoyed the food, will definitely be back.

Really lovely food. £40 a head for 3 courses and 2 glasses of wine per person not too bad. Restaurant been there a while maybe decor could be looked at.

Food was delicious and staff were lovely and attentive. Atmosphere was lacking slightly, though could've just been the night we picked. Would probably have sat longer after dinner if there had been a cocktail menu. Overall, a nice evening.

Lovely food and restaurant was very nice and comfortable. One slight disappointment was the toilets - the one I used wouldn't flush and I thought the decor could have been nicer.

Good selection of freshly prepared dishes for each of the three lunch courses served by efficient and friendly staff. Just what you need to begin the week. Would not hesitate to come back.

Food was superb and service was excellent. Would have been full marks if it wasn't for a very wobbly table and being sat right at the door, meaning every time someone came in we got a cold blast of air! If we were sat at another table it would have perfect. Will definitely go back

I have been to the red onion many times and never disappoints. I'm a vegan but all my friends and family aren't so it's good to go to a restaurant were there is choice for everyone, the food is amazing and staff are always friendly.

Staff and service was great. Food was a little slow on coming to the table, but plates all scraped clean. Very good and would recommend highly.

An excellent choice of food for both meat and vegetarian diners. Set in a vibrant but comfortable setting staff were friendly and welcoming. We will definately be returning!

We really had a great experience. The food was excellent and the staff very nice, helpful and efficient. The decor was also very nice.. The toilets clean & modern. Overall I would come back and recommend to friends and family.

It was our first time at the Red Onion and it definitely won't be the last time. Food was brilliant and the staff were very attentive. Venue itself is warm and welcoming and exceedingly tasteful.

Food was very good and at a tenner for a two-course lunch was pretty good value for money. The service was prompt, polite and friendly without being over-bearing.

As always the food was excellent, the staff were very helpfull and friendly. The location of the restaurant is ideal so close to Sauchiehall Street. Looking forward to my next visit.

I have lunch regularly at Red Onion and the varied menu always has something tasty and is excellent value for money. The American waiter is a fantastic asset to the restaurant, he provides one of the best waiter services in the city.
