Fabulous food as always! Could have 3 courses of the French Onion soup alone! The Blade of Beef was beautifully tender and the chicken was equally nice. Highly recommended.
Great food as usual but had to send one main back as it was luke warm only. Came back scalding, so hot couldnt go near it!!. Sat at a table in corner near bar with air con blowing down on us on a cold day! Got moved to window seat, not much better. Had to wash hands in gents toilet in cold water. Waiter seemed harrassed. We love the place but standards seem to be falling.
This was our first time at the Red Onion. The food was wonderful and the staff were extremely attentive. We could not have asked for a better Christmas Eve meal.
Dinner was lovely , we had the pre theatre offer , also gluten free , will go back again when visiting Glasgow . Also stayed in hotel over the road , so very handy
Excellent venue took my sister who lives in London and wishes Red Onion had a place in London as it was so good to be able to eat vegan dishes with meat eating family who also enjoyed their dinner as much as the vegan and veggieeater too
Excellent staff and service, we ran a little late with our arrival, however having phoned to advise of same along with requesting an additional two covers, we were accommodated with a smile. Food and service briiiiiilllllllllll !. BH. Lanark, yeah we travelled from the " sticks " to Gods country .............................a Govan Bhoy at heart.
Amazing food, brilliant service! Love the Red Onion for their vegan menu choice, the staff are all very attentive and look as though they truly enjoy working there. You can tell that a lot of care is put in to every customers meal and experience!
The pre-theatre menu had plenty of choice and all the selections from our group of 5 were very tasty, the smoked haddock fish cake possibly being the star. The waiting staff were helpful and not overbearing, but when the restaurant got busy seemed a little over stretched. Only issue was that they managed to get our bill wrong twice!!, but otherwise a very pleasant pre-theatre meal. Would probably go back again.
Good menu , good service. Food good but not outstanding. ' Ladies ' could do with a facelift! Generally though, a good night with nice atmosphere - not stuffy
City centre, Fab quality, great value lunch in a relaxed surrounding and with Good portions. Limited menu but it is only £10.95. Great to see John Quigley in his whites in the restaurant
Lovely meal as usual. Had set menu good value would be nice to see updated set menu seems to have been the same for ages but still love this restaurant. We'll be back.
Food was fine although it has been better. Tables not very clean - dried fat or wax by my seat. Service fast, restaurant bit cold.
Staff were very friendly and service was brilliant. Food was delicious and the pre-theatre menu had a good selection of dishes to choose from. Very reasonably priced. Overall our visit was fantastic.
Excellent food and great gluten free menu. Staff very attentive and knowledgeable regarding coeliac. Not often you get such a great choice of gluten free.
This is my 4th visit to Red Onion, this time dining from the vegan menu and I can say it was extremely enjoyable, it is difficult trying to eat out vegan and some of the places are a bit 'studenty' and bare. Red Onion is neither but offers a tasty menu with a good variety that will make me return and recommend to friends and family. The staff are very attentive and helpful and our overall dining experience was very enjoyable. Thank you 😁
The staff were very attentive and friendly, the food was awesome and the atmosphere very relaxed - not bad going for a Saturday night two weeks before Christmas. The quality of the food for the price we paid (we had the pre-theatre) was outstanding. I will definitely be back and I will definitely be recommending it as the place to eat in the City Centre.
We were a party of 4, and we had recommended you to our friends after our visit on 19/11/16. The food was lovely but unfortunately one of the waiting staff seemed to become more unfriendly as the meal progressed. This was the only point that could be improved upon.
Food was average but despite having booked well in advance after about 10 minutes got asked to move tables because someone obviously more important than we were demanded our table at 6pm. I refused to move so our food was brought out extremely quick to make sure we were away in time. I have no idea what idiot would request that table anyway it was upstairs away at the back when the place was half empty. Won't be coming back.
I booked a table for 2 people for 1pm. We were five minutes late getting there but the guy who greeted us upon arrival didn't mention that and showed us straight to our table. He was friendly and helpful throughout our stay, as were all other members of staff. My sister-in-law ordered a main meal which we were told immediately would take about 25 minutes to make. We were in no rush and this was not a problem. It was certainly worth the wait. Both dishes were delicious and we had a fabulous dessert each too. Beautiful surroundings and décor. Food delicious and beautifully presented. Atmosphere perfect. Would definitely recommend it and will definitely be back.
Wonderful food, great ambiance.Lovely staff.Spent a few hours after the theatre, everyone of our party loved it.E ould definitely come back.Great value for money! Keep it up Red Onion!
Had a group dinner here on Saturday 17th of December. Amazing food with great choice and an additional bonus was the fantastic Gluten Free A la Carte Menu! Others with food intolerances can agree it is very hard to find a decent restaurant in Glasgow. Great & fast service. Would definitely come again!
Food was nice & served quickly. Service was good with staff pleasant and helpful. The atmosphere of the restaurant is warm and welcoming. Worth a visit.
Good menu, catering for different dietary requirements including vegan. Friendly service and pleasant atmosphere. Not our first visit and will not be the last. Thank you.
We had a great meal- really tasty korma monkfish and friend had equally delicious grilled sea bass. They Staff very friendly, attentive and helpful too.
It was our first time at Red Onion but definitely going back! We ate from Vegan Menu and the food was delicious, portions generous and attractively served.
First visit to THe Red Onion .A hidden gem . Fantastic choice of gluten free food delivered with outstanding service. Fantastic end to a great day . Will definitely be back .
Red onion is a lovely restaurant. The pre theatre menu was excellent value and the food was very good. The service was very efficient. I really enjoyed my meal.
The waitress was very nice , friendly and helpful . I loved the fact that they adapted the lunch menu for my dietary needs . Lovely find and will return .
Good food, good service. Lunchtime was quiet and we were served quickly and efficiently. We all had fish which was correctly cooked. A good, streamlined (in a good way) and well priced wine list.
Lovely restaurant with attentive friendly staff. I am Coeliac and I had an excellent choice of starters and sweets from the gluten free Christmas menu. I was limited for choice on the main course as I am pescatarian but the sea bass I was served was beautifully cooked as were the accompanying vegetables. I would have no hesitation in recommending this restaurant and I will certainly be visiting it again. 10/10
Good atmosphere, good service and good food. Had the Christmas menu with plenty of choice, the only criticism would be the vegetables, they were hard. Everything else was very good.
First time visiting. Great Service by Saskia served with an amazing lunch. Could not be happier. Would recommend to anyone & will definitely be revisiting soon!
Great food and great service, will be back. We had the pre theatre menu and for being in the city centre it was good value for the price.
An excellent menu....from vegan to steaks, catering for all. The food was fantastic, the staff friendly, the restaurant smart. We had a lovely , leisurely lunch.Highly recommended.
The food was absolutely fantastic food, and the staff were attentive. I loved the wide choice of food as there were 4 options for each course on the vegan menu which is hard to find.
Superb meal with lovely fresh scottish ingredients. Service great and staff very attentive throughout even though restaurant very busy with Christmas party night. Great atmosphere :-)
great food and service ,lovely waiting staff ,i cannot believe that this restaurant has been open for more than 12 years and we have not visited before now, will definitely return,
Good food. Staff friendly and efficient. Excellent value for money. Location first class for a business lunch. Ambience was good with restaurant dressed for Christmas and a number of office parties in for lunch.
Excellent meal and great service , would definately recommend this place. Veggie options are available and the food looked wonderful and tastes great too. The prices were not too bad at all and we had starters and mains for two, with a bottle of wine, and paid just over £60.
Lovely food and excellent service and my daughter was well catered for with a gluten and dairy free menu. Shame we were squeezed into a table upstairs in a corner near the air vent. Downstairs was beautifully decorated for Christmas and warm.
Nice atmosphere. Excellent Christmas menu - food was beautifully cooked and presented. Food that should be served hot, always was. Hurray for firm sprouts!! Staff were friendly and helpful.
Excellent food, super service, lovely location. When something does not reach their restaurant standard there is no fuss and any issue professionally dealt with. A breath of fresh air!
Had the pre-theatre menu, food excellent and good value for the money. Staff very knowledgable and friendly. The Bang Bang Chicken Salad and the RIbeye were amazing. Was recommended the St Mungos Beer and it didn't disappoint.
Really close to the hotel we were staying in and booking a table was easy. The food was tasty and wholesome and the service attentive and helpful. Will definately be back when next in Glasgow.
Wonderful food & great service. Fantastic gluten free menu which all restaurants should learn from. Inside the restaurant has a cozy feel while also being spacious between tables. Would certainly recommend.
No complaints. Service was great, food excellent and was Value for money also. I will definitely be back and would recommend to friends and family
A lovely restaurant with a really nice atmosphere. Best to book as it's a busy place. Our food was very tasty, with a good range of options on the menu and we'll definitely be back. A little slow with service if you are sitting up in the mezzanine level but thankfully we weren't in a rush.
The two course option that we had booked and which was listed on the Facebook page the previous AFTERNOON, was not available so we left! This should have been made clear on their website and FB page.
The food was really nice and the set menu was good value. Pate, steak and then chocolate brownie - really tasty. Nice environment, with cosy fire.
The Red Onion is our regular choice for a pre theatre meal on the way to the.....theatre.Again we were not disappointed. We always get another good "first impression" .The staff are friendly but not overbearing.the menu is varied but too much choice. The Bang Bang chicken is a delight, either as a starter or main.Good value for money,we'll be back
