Delicious pre theatre meal at a great price. Gluten free is the best around with a good choice. Service first class and the owner was circulating which adds to the lovely relaxed atmosphere. Wheelchair accessible with large disabled toilet.

It was my first time to Red Onion. A friend recommended the restaurant to me and I was not disappointed. Amazing service, beautiful surroundings, great customer service and attention to detail. The food was the best I've tasted in a long time and was brilliant value for money. One of Glasgow's hidden treasures.

Very nice setting with lovely ambiance, attentive service and superb choice of menu. A thoroughly enjoyable dining experience. Our choice of pre-theatre menu did not disappoint either for quality or price. Would not hesitate to recommend this establishment.

Good food however we were really disappointed by the service as we have been here before and had good service. We were ignored for most of the evening and felt the staff were disinterested. Food was good unfortunately we won’t be back.

Food was great - as always - and the staff are lovely. Service was a bit slow even though the restaurant was quiet and we'd to remind them of an order that had been requested however, we all enjoyed our meal.

A very nice restaurant in Glasgow with a great service and tasty food, we liked the “Spanish style” pork, it was very good. Prices are adequate.

Disappointing experience- tired, dated and poor quality food. I definitely would not go back to this restaurant. I was expecting so much more from this place which had been recommended to us.

Food was overall very good, skinny chips that came with the steak let the dish down. Truffle mac and cheese v good, service a tad slow but waitresses were nice all the same, they were fully booked

The food is generally good and the service is fine but the set menu hasn't been changed for a long time. It's time to give it a bit of a refresh now as going somewhere you can recite it by heart is beginning to feel a bit lazy....

Booking was easy through the website, no need to call to confirm. Received confirmation email quickly and all was fine on arrival. The restaurant is very nicely decorated, much larger than it looks from outside. We chose from the set menus, one vegan (haggis bon bons, and veg korma) and one meat eater (chicken salad, and rib eye steak) The starters and mains were excellent, especially the vegan menu, full of flavours and beautifully presented. We are really not fussy eaters but were disappointed with both the desserts chosen (banana fritters, and raspberries in white chocolate sauce), the sauces on both were a big let down, definitely would not choose them again, should have gone for a normal cake instead. This didn't ruin the night though, we would certainly eat there again and would recommend it. The staff were also very attentive, polite and helpful while being discreet and professional.

Delicious food and great value for money but portion size was slightly on the small side, always want to leave full after a meal and it took 3 courses to be fully satisfied. Other than that absolutely delicious and would return as long as I wasn't super hungry

We had an excellent meal on a very busy evening for the restaurant. Staff were helpful and friendly despite the crowds, and service was prompt. However, one drink we ordered did not arrive till much later, and we got this on the house. The meals were creative and enjoyable, and a separate vegan menu was provided for one of us without asking, after we mentioned this in online booking. Highly recommended!

I have visited The Red Onion on three occasions and always had a very enjoyable time with good food. I am vegan so really appreciate having a range of dishes to chose from. The seating arrangements create a nice atmosphere.
