great pre theatre office meal. enjoyed by all who attended
had pre theatre menu and enjoyed our meal. There was a bit of a gap between starters and mains and we were getting near theatre time, but this is the only criticism. The restaurant was quite busy. Waitresses were all friendly and smiley.
Lovely restaurant with really nice staff. The food did not disappoint, we will be back for another visit hopefully soon 😀👌
Main meal cold. Rice lumpy. Would have sent it back but had already waited about 40 mins to arrive and we were going to theatre. Staff were excellent and dealt with it.
Fantastic food, friendly staff, and great atmosphere. Highly recommended for a visit.
A very enjoyable experience, good food and service from friendly and attentive service staff. I have booked again for next weekend.
Never had a bad meal at the Red Onion. Food was awesome as usual. Can’t wait to come back.
Owner very friendly and couldn’t do enough for you. Food brilliant again
As always a wonderful culinary experience. Chef John Quigley is outstanding!
Food was delicious and there was a really great atmosphere. The staff were friendly and polite. This is my second visit recently and will definitely be going again soon.
Amazing food and excellent service! Can’t wait to go back.
Relaxed atmosphere and superb food. The staff were attentive and helpful. I had been along with my team last week but took unwell and had to go home. Reports from my team were excellent so booked a table this evening. Restaurant did not disappoint. Many thanks.
Was a lovely restaurant and atmosphere. Food was fantastic and well worth the price.
Arrived, shown straight to table, asked for drinks right away. Service very good. Table fine.
Lovely experience. Great place for a chat with a pal.
I visited on an ITISON voucher, which was on a seperate menu. The food was very good, but it was more expensive to add a suite in comparison to the everyday menu. There was a nice atmosphere, the staff were excellent and overall it was a very good experience. The ITISON strategy has worked as I will definitely return to sample a la carte.
Great menu. Also had lots of vegetatian options which is good to see. Good value.
2 course set menu is good value. Ver nicely cooked.
Food and service was good BUT we were reminded 4 times during our meal that the table was required back by 6pm. Was not impressed. We were told prior to our visit and that should have been enough.
It was a very enjoyable experience with great staff yes
Amazing food! Great service. Will be back for sure. Fantastic.
Very happy with quality of the food. Drinks a little pricey.
Service was good but the there was a slightly longer wait for the food in between courses than I expected, given that the place was relatively quiet.
Brilliant again - just love this place! Perfect in every way
Booked from recommendation on coeliac site. Lovely food, staff friendly and attentive. Definitely visit again when in Glasgow!
Excellent - friendly service and excellent food with a sensible wine list
Very enjoyable lunch at reasonable prices. Would certainly recommend to others.
Asked med-well done fllet and it came rare. Starter was all wrong also
Food was delicious! Pre theatre menu price a bonus! Will recommend and return!
Service was great but unfortunately one of the meals was served cold
Excellent meal! Lovely staff. Friendly chat from the owner. Good value. Only disappointment was smelly toilets!
Tasty and delightful. Great food. Top service. A lovely day.
Had a lovely meal, everything was fresh and incredibly tasty
Food was lovely and service was great as always. Will Definitely be back
first thing was we were seated near front door and there was a constant draught of cold air from outside .Draught excluder was an inadequate curtain covering front door .Starters were good, we both had rib eye steaks which were not as tender as expected.. Toilets were not as clean or fresh as they should be .All in all a tired looking restaurant playing on past reputation.
Been a while since we've dined at the Red Onion and thoroughly enjoyed our visit last night. Great selection on the menu and everything we ordered everyone loved. We will be back.
Great food, friendly staff and good value - good time had by all.
In the beginning as we were 2 persons we were put in an area that had small table squashed in upstairs, we were not comfortable And asked to be moved, which we were, as people who booked well in advanced should be offered better seats straight away, pre theatre menu ok , but after reading reviews expected better, vegan options good, meat , not so much, ordered well done steak, was not so... also upgrade on steak good idea as cut was cheewy, asked for recommendations on sweets, raspberry and white chocolate thingy.... waayyy too sweet... coffee also not great , and spoon too small to stir a latte, service good, think it’s a small restaurant getting a good reputation, maybe getting too busy? Good, but not up to expectations, sorry x
Third visit to this restaurant, and unfortunately appears to have gone downhill. Main arrived too soon after starter, felt rushed. Main course looked pre-prepared and heated up. Fish was dry, potatoes looked burnt, were soft and soggy, not a crisp fresh fry. Didn't bother complaining, after all whoever was running the kitchen deemed it acceptable.
Fab afternoon with my family. Lovely food and great service. Highly recommend.
The waitress was exceptional - unfortunately didn’t ask her name. Service was first class and food excellent. Nothing was too much hassle and would def recommend.
We were sitting near the window and it was cold. The temp was ok when we arrived but the restaurant got cold. I had to put on my coat when eating my main course.
Bit slow with desserts but beyond that brilliant as usual . Happy New Decade !!🥳🥳
Great atmosphere Super Food. Company very goid Good value for money
Great place a gem with great staff and great food
Great to have a vegan taster menu. Enjoyed it all apart from the ‘main course’ of the ratatouille tart which was overly salty and not very special. Staff were lovely and very attentive and happy to serve according to our needs giving us breaks when we started to get full! Very good value for money
Very pleased with the overall experience this afternoon good good
Meal was amazing and staff were very helpful😊😊 thank you
It was quiet on the evening we visited. The food was good and the staff excellent. We went for the three course deal which was good value.
Busy happy place! Good choice and food freshly made with quality ingredients at a fair price.
