Calamari was excellent not battered nice and soft not chewy. Chorizo sausage was slightly cold in the middle but no fuss made and cooked a fresh batch which was very tasty. Steaks were cooked to preference and delicious. Open kitchen, cosy atmosphere, tables very close together feels like your sitting with others. Service very good. Good value.

Cute place, very caring staff. The variety of food is amazing. You could probably have a full meal of starters because they are that good and a decent size.

Had a lovely valentines meal here with my other half. Staff were very friendly and attentive. Small, cosy and very inviting. Would definitely recommend to anyone visiting the area.

What an excellent little restaurant. The staff were very friendly and helpful and the meal was amazing. My wife and I both had the steak, chicken and ribs, both our steaks were cooked just as we like them. My wife couldn't finish hers as there was so much, so the staff wrapped her steak in foil so we could take home a doggy bag, and we have just had that for our tea tonight at home.

Can't recommend this restaurant enough. Friendly staff, great service, initmate setting and FANTASTIC food. The chimichurri sauce provided as a condiment to accompany the steak was worth selling jars of on their own. Can't fault any part of our visit.

Very nice meal starter and main too full for sweet , my steak was a little too rare but taken away and cooked a little longer no fuss and offered a free drink each at the end of meal

Nice staff who are very helpful. Good food enjoyed well served. Menu is varied and gives choice of different meat portion from the same chosen cut.

The best steak restaurant in Edinburgh. Sorry Gaucho, you are overpriced and not that good. The staff are friends, the wine is good and the steak is superb.

Although the restaurant is slightly out of the city centre it produces some excellent food! The steaks are amazing and the dessert we had was delicious. The service was very attentive yet unobtrusive and the whole experience was kind to the pocket...!

prachtig restaurant, vriendelijke en vlotte service. 3 keer steak besteld, 2 pepper en 1 champignon, zeer verzorgd en waar voor je geld. totaal voor eten en drinken 60£ voor 3 personen. zeker voor herhaling vatbaar.

Food fantastic no frills which allows the steak to speak for itself , staff are always attentive without becoming intrusive. My sons favourite steak restaurant , we will be back soon

Good Points : Food Excellent, Service Excellent. Bad Points: The restaurant is quite small and there is not much room at tables - especially if you are a large person!

Starters were good. All four steaks were cooked to order. All four were fillets and were both tasty and “melt in the mouth”. Each plate came with a salad leaf, which none of us ate. Better to leave them off and leave room for the fries. Prosecco and Malbec were both fine. Service friendly and efficient.

Tasty quality steaks that were cooked as ordered coupled with good friendly service with reasonable prices will definitely be back hopefully sooner rather than later

Absolutely superb the best steak of my life and very reasonably priced. Parking in the area can be troublesome but well worth the effort. Highly rated. If your planning a desert dont have a starter because of the huge portion sizes

Peobably the best and biggest juiciest rib eye steak I've ever had.. apart from a bunch of 8 very loud German lads it was a very enjoyable experience. The chimmichurri in a pot on the table was delicious and a wonderful compliment to the steak and the huge jacket potato. Quilmes beer too. 12 oz rib eye was £18.99.. that's cheap. Small cafe-like restaurant run by Indians strangely enough but lovely people who know how to cook. Highly recommend but don't sit by the door... it's freezing.

Excellent restaurant. Steaks are amazing, staff were great, only slight problem was the restaurant got a bit smokey. Looks like the kitchen could do with a better extractor fan. But apart from that can fault the place, reasonably priced too. Will 100% be back.

Ranchos is a small restaurant but serves great steaks. The service is friendly and house wines are good quality and not so expensive as other places. I would recommend this eatery highly. Booking advised to avoid disappointment.
