Absolutely nothing like the TripAdvisor reviews my sirloin and my husbands ribeye were exactly the same. Sauce was watery everything was covered with powdery parsley . Not a good meal sorry 👎

Rancho is a very small restaurant and occasionally noise levels can be a little high. The food and the service are very very good. When you are lucky enough to discover this little gem you just keep going back.

The vast majority of the food was really nice. The Lamb chop starter was terrific and surprisingly, so was the corn on the Cob. The 16oz Ribeye Steak was fantastic, but was not medium as requested, but medium-rare, which was OK with me. The BBQ spare ribs were very tasty and fell off the bone. We had a side of Fries and baked potato. Both were good. Also chose sides of tomato, mushrooms and onion rings. Tomatoes and mushrooms were good, but the onion rings were frozen, chopped up, cheap onion rings. They were soft and not nice. At least buy real frozen one piece onion rings if your using frozen. We finished off with the New York cheesecake and ice cream with choice of liqueur, my wife chose Baileys. Both were really nice. We will come back again, but no onion rings again for us.

It was all so rushed. Rugby day or not. The starter and main was down to us within half an hour. Steak didn’t taste nice didn’t even eat half of it. It’s not somewhere I would go back to

Friendly service, lovely cosy atmosphere, nice house wine, and delicious steaks, sauces, and chips. More affordable than most steak restaurants. Just a perfect dining experience!

We got the trio rancho. (Medium rare). The fillet was absolutely beautiful. Chips were Crispy and fluffy on inside again. Cooked perfect for me. It is a small shop but don't let that put you off. 100% give it a try. Me and my friend go around all the steak/meat houses and I genuinely think this could be our new regular meet up scran place

Rancho serves the best steaks in town by a long way, with reasonable prices and first-class service. It is a very small restaurant so it is safer to book in advance.

This place is just amazing. Food is fantastic. Staff are so friendly. I look forward to visiting this place every year we attend. I only wish I lived closer. The best fillet steak I’ve tasted.

Food was fantastic,, this restaurant offers great value and top quality food. It’s not the fanciest restaurant you will ever set foot in, but it’s great food and good service in a relaxed atmosphere.

The restaurant was not prepared for a businessman to arrive as a single reservation. Three groups were allowed in ahead of me because they had more guests. After waiting 30 minutes I had no option but to leave, after they split up a party of four to make an undesirable area for me to have an enjoyable dinning experience. I had no option but to stop the mystery guest review and leave after waiting 30 minutes. Restaurant gets a 2/10 rating for poor service.

We booked a table but were the only people in at that time. Good prompt service and steaks were amazing

whilst the restaurant is value for money, rump steak was passed off as fillet. the decoration leaves a lot to be desired and there is a lack of social distancing.

Food as always excellent. Lovely attentive staff, very busy so a bit of a wait and as its small it can be noisy, but best first post lockdown meal decision ever!!

The food was great, service great no complaints at all. Can't recommend this place enough. we have been there quite a few times and not once have we had any cause to complain about anything. If you live in Edinburgh or are paying a visit book this place you won't regret it

Great staff and food and was really good being the first customers since lockdown

I have been waiting for this visit since we eat here almost two years ago and I have to say we was not disappointed. The stakes are the best I have ever tasted, the staff where attentive but not over bearing. Had a wonderful time.

Menu was limited and decor was just ok, but the steak - basically the reason we were there was cooked just right. Good value too.

It's a very small restaurant but the positive reviews were correct, the stake was full of flavour, cooked to perfection and every bite melted in your mouth, a real gem of a restaurant, I will definitely be back. Thank you.

Nice friendly staff. Food wasnt fantastic. Chips were amazing though. Expensive for quality of food. Same quality what you would have got in a wetherspoons or something similar.

Calamari was excellent not battered nice and soft not chewy. Chorizo sausage was slightly cold in the middle but no fuss made and cooked a fresh batch which was very tasty. Steaks were cooked to preference and delicious. Open kitchen, cosy atmosphere, tables very close together feels like your sitting with others. Service very good. Good value.

Cute place, very caring staff. The variety of food is amazing. You could probably have a full meal of starters because they are that good and a decent size.
