Pushkar is a lovely restaurant and the service was good. The food looked lovely but was a little disappointing. Restaurant is a good place but food not as good as your local Balti joint
Great food, good service and wonderful atmosphere as usual. Never fails to come up with the goods. One of our regular haunts and we travel from Northampton just to enjoy.
The atmosphere was great, great service and food and all very reasonably priced, would definitely recommend to anyone wanting a nice restaurant for a special occasion
Fab lunchtime menu thoroughly enjoyed, excellent service. Lovely selection of choices on offer for 2 or 3 course meal. Deco was classy and everything spotlessly clean. Food was beautifully fresh.
Very good restaurant to eat in as a small group or large group. service is good and efficient. Good value of money for food and drinks.
Good food in a good location however expensive for what you get. Biggest disappointment was the service took over an hour between starters and main courses and then once we had paid we were asked to leave so they could have the table back, they also managed to forget a side dish. We then received the bill and we had been charged a non negotiable service charge of 10% even though the service was at best "average". We raised this with them but it wasn't something they were prepared to discuss. I think much better options for Indian dining in Birmingham very underwhelmed.
Fantastic food and service. The waiters go above and beyond to make sure you have a great experience. Lovely cocktails too. I would very much recommend this restaurant.
Booked it online last minute through Quandoo, all worked fine. Nice curry, decent cocktails and didn't have to step outside to get back to our room.
Amazing food n nice place to dine. Some authentic indian food worth trying. Would go again. Quite central located. Good service and value for money
The Biryani was excellent and presented very well. The lamb dish was a little stodgy and would have benefitted from smaller chunks of meat. Service professional and attentive. This is a very good quality experience.
Fabulous food and the best service I've ever had in an Indian restaurant! Our waiter spent a considerable amount of time explaining various dishes and even though I've completed a balti cooking course was still able to offer me something I hadn't had before.
The food was very good ( save for the poppadoms and relishes) and there is a good wine list. The service, however, was not. It veered from being annoyingly over attentive and ingratiating with constant fussing from more than one waiting member of staff, who managed to pour out a bottle of wine between 2 people before the starters had even arrived and who gathered by our table for group discussions to one of us having to go in chase to order pudding and coffee. It is overpriced for the overall experience.
A superb night out with the team from work. We were looked after by Sadiq and his team of waiters who were attentive and courteous. Food was divine!
It was a pleasant restaurant with really good service. The atmosphere was lively without being overbearing. If you are in Birmingham- it is well worth a visit.
Delicious food, excellent service and great ambience. Its definitely one of the best Indian restaurant in Birmingham with wide variety and selection, would definitely visit again.
It was very lovely. But they just took too long with payments. The service was fast and good. Staff are friendly and kind. Great restaurant.
Having previously had very fond memories of this restaurant when I had last visited a few years ago, my expectations were high. The decor is superb and we were greeted and seated immediately. The service was attentive and friendly. The waiter took our food order without writing it down, which is where the experience began to sour somwhat. The food arrived in a timely fashion, though was incorrect. The rice was not what we had ordered and the raita failed to come. We were happy to have the rice rather than wait and I politely asked the waiter of the missing raita. Despite this, it again failed to appear. By this stage we were well through our meal and decided to do without. The rest of the meal (Punjabi choley and murgh tikka masala) was good but not quite as delicious as from previous visits. The sundries were excellent. We decided to go for the fruit salad for dessert, which was beautifully presented. Unfortunately the blueberries, blackberries and raspberries contained some which were obviously past their date. I informed the waiter and he immediately removed the whole dish very politely and offered to replace. We declined and decided to get the bill. The waiter was very apologetic and this was certainly in keeping with the general attitude of the staff. I'm certainly not one to create a scene in a restaurant, however I was somewhat disappointed by my experience here on this occasion. Having said that, the restaurant was full. I sincerely hope this was a one off, as I'd always previously enjoyed my visits here. To be fair, the bill was reduced accordingly, though I did have to ask for the phantom raita to be removed. I'm sure I will return again, though sadly I won't be rushing to do so.
Great food, great service and atmosphere. If visiting Birmingham again, I will definitely book a table. 4 of us could not have been happier leaving.
Pushkars was just excellent, attentive staff who talked through the menu, food was wonderful best biriyani ever. Already planning our next visit, if you get a chance you must go here.
The service is excellent but the food was okay on my second visit as opposed to my first visit. I decided to introduce my friends to the restaurant, hence my second visit.
Very observant and really liked the fact that I put in a request for my friend's hen and they remembered her name and occasion when they welcomed us in. Food was amazing!
Not Impressed with the food or service. Over priced food which was bland. Drink service slow and staff didn't seem very happy. My group all concluded we would not return.
Food was ok! I would say overally rated! The ambience is good but I wouldn't go there again. The portions are well disappointing. Been to much nice indian pub food with great portions and flavours
Lovely place, great food and lovely service. Excellent recommendations made by our waiter - really helpful for someone who isn't very good with spice. Will definitely be coming again!
Wonderful as ever! We went for the Biryani Festival and had a great evening. The food was great and the service attentive as always. Will definitely be going back again
Great service made very welcome food was really good Even though teh resturant was very busy all the staff made us fee welcome Great atmosphire
Absolutely Amazing! Staff are very friendly and professional.... whenever I travel to Birmingham I always choose to eat here as it's always been my favourite place. Food and drinks taste lovely every time aswel as looking delicious. They even went out of there way to surprise me and made a personal effort and prepared me a special dessert with candles as it was my birthday! I really can't fault this place at all. It's perfect.
The staff were very attentive and helpful throughout the service. You're spoilt for choice when it comes to the menu and there is a nice selection of drinks. It was a lovely experience.
I had friends' visiting me from London, and I wanted to impress them with a great dining experience; I immediately thought of Pushkar, having been there many times in the past. We were not disappointed. The food, service and atmosphere were excellent. My friends were delighted with my choice of restaurant.
Good ambience. Great food and very good service. Will return. Biriyani festival a wonderful idea. Look forward to other such events. A good evening enjoyed by all. J.Desai.
Awesome flavours. Never eaten a curry that felt so healthy. Staff attentive with a smile. Would not hesitate to recommend or return. Our new number one.
I booked this for Mother's Day. The service was ok at the restaurant although a bit slow taking 30mins for the starters alone. However yesterday evening my mother felt unwell and we have both been sick today so I'm guessing it's from the food. We both had sheesh kebab starters and masala for main. Ok service but unfortunately the food poisioning has let it down.
Brilliant food & very attentive staff to advise & recommend. Maybe a bit expensive but this is no ordinary Indian Restaurant. 2nd time in a year that we have stayed at Jurys Inn next door and visited Pushka on both occasions; would return again if in Birmingham.
Excellent service and the food was authentic and delicious. We are very happy that we came to Pushkar as this was our first time here. The decor and atmosphere is calm and relaxing.
Food was lovely and well presented. Would describe the food as modern twists on Indian classics. As I had booked for my 21st, they were even kind enough to serve me a complimentary brownie with a Happy Birthday message! Only criticism is that the food is expensive for the portion sizes, (but I guess you are paying for the whole 'fine dining' experience rather than just the food). Overall would recommend as an impressive restaurant serving delicious food.
Slightly disappointed with quality of the food and service. Had the Northern Indian fish curry and asked for it to be spicy however it turned out to be lacking in depth of flavour and was not spicy at all. The service was mediocre to say the least , we were kept waiting for around 25 minutes before we ordered and had to keep getting someone's attention to order drinks. If the idea is to offer a fine dining experience this restaurant falls short of the required standard required.
Fantastic food! Good friendly service that made ordering a breeze with the knowledgeable staff. Throughly enjoyed all the dishes that we had and we will return soon
Only go to Pushkars! The best is always worth the experience. All around quality, you cant get better in Birmingham, believe me. Give them a try.
Exceptionally good food, delicately spiced, delicious. The decor is elegant and helps to create a very pleasant environment. Staff were friendly and helpful. Will definitely go again.
The restaurant is lovely with great staff, the food is amazing and cocktails are outstanding! Every time I come to Birmingham I have to visit!!! It's just perfect!!
I was totally underwhelmed by the experience, I ordered a chicken tikka masala but it was more sauce than chicken, the pilau rice was bland and a muddy brown colour, not the light fluffy rice I was expecting, there was a very limited choice of main courses, my wife had a chicken korma with steamed rice which she really enjoyed (and she is a fussy eater). The restaurant itself is really nicely laid out, very clean and smart and the toilets were clean and presentable, and the service was very good. Just a shame that the meal was to my mind disappointing.
Great environment and friendly staff who serve delicious food. Food was out very quickly and was tasty and fresh. Just the right size for portions. Would strongly recommend and we will be visiting again
Great meal with superb service as always. Extensive range of exquisite cocktails prepared by professional mixologists. Thank you Pushkar, we will be back very soon for more!
My third visit to Pushkar and they're still meeting a very high standard. Food and service are exemplary - I had a memorable Hyderabadi keema - and the lunch menu is extraordinarily good value for the quality. Looking forward to another visit soon.
Good meal with right sized portions - didn't leave feeling bloated. Atmosphere was relaxed and everybody on nearby tables seemed to be enjoying themselves as much as we did. Will go there again
The lady taking desert orders could not understand a word we were saying, we had deserts brought to the table 3 times and were wrong each time.
The food was excellent, best Indian restaurant we have ever been at. The dishes were attractively laid out. Portions not overly large but more than adequate. Service was a bit slow but considering how crowded the place was, understandable.
The choice of food on the menu was extensive and we all had very nice food. A massive cocktail list and the cocktails were to a good standard. Service was also very good, very attentive and overall a very good evening with no complaints.
I have dined at this restaurant on two occasions now when visiting Birmingham. Very high quality service and outstanding food. Not to be missed on any account.
Great evening enjoyed by all for friends 50th birthday celebration. Group of 24 of us in total Food was fresh and flavoursome Highly recommend restaurant
