two of the dishes we tried to order were not available on a Friday evening (and we were quite early) as apparently they are refurbishing on Monday. As both dishes would need to have been freshly made - how long would you keep swordfish for anyway? I don't understand reasoning....or at least should have been told in advance. the second diet coke my son ordered never came
Lovely Italian food and friendly relaxed atmosphere, good value for money.
Good food, decent prices - a lovely local family restaurant.
Great value, friendly service and wonderful food. Very Highly recommended.
I would definitely recommend to other people one of the best Italians
Very good waiter service, food was good but did not have any vanilla ice cream in stock which I would have thought would be an important thing to have in an Italian restaurant. Overall good experience and reasonably priced. Would use again
Excellent food and fantastic service at a really reasonable price. We used to be regulars but the food did go down hill for a couple of years but they have turned it around and the pizza's and pasta were seriously tasty! We will definitely be visiting again.
This restaurant now under new ownership, with a new name, Basilico. Good location in Walthamstow village. Same great vibe and delicious food. House wine available in 500ml and litre carafes, a cost-effective option, decent wine too. Particularly enjoyed cod fillet with olive/tomato sauce. Olive and focaccia starter generous. Courteous and attentive yet discreet service. Would recommend.
For a start, the restaurant had changed its name, which didn't help when trying to locate it. Serving staff were willing but completely inexperienced. We ordered two identical starters and received one, with 2 plates, so we could split it. My veal in breadcrumbs was dry and the spaghetti bolognese that accompanied it looked like it had come out of a tin, with the meat all mixed in with the spaghetti. It definitely hadn't just been freshly cooked. Tiramisu was OK but my husband's chocolate cake was dry. All in all very disappointing. We wont be returning.
Really lovely food and service. Wide choice on the menu and house wine very drinkable ! It’s a regular favourite so will be going back !
Fantastic food and what a great atmosphere! Would recommend highly!
Lovely atmosphere and staff, food freshly prepared and presented. Really good value for money, comfortable seating and nice for families or romantic evening for two
cant fault your food or your service keep up the good work will be back again also you staff was clean and tidy thank you
I have had lovely times here before, but last night was a bit of a disaster unfortunately. We had been at the table for half an hour and still not received the drinks we'd ordered. No one had even come over with some tap water or bread. We told a waiter that we were still waiting for drinks and were simply told that it was very busy. We waited another five minutes, and still nothing - no one was rushing to get our white wine, no one was paying any attention to us at all. I can understand a place being busy, but it was the attitude 'you'll just have to wait'. It was so disappointing! So we decided to leave and go elsewhere. I would be very reluctant to return now.
Service very slow, my friend and I desserts were not nice, mine tasted stale, and my other friend now has food poisoning, so not a good experience.
Brilliant evening; friendly and kind service; not too rushed but attentive; Highly recommended - we had a party of 9, not waiting too long for starters or main course. Bit of a pain only able to use cash - but I think that is a temporary situation.
Great relaxed atmosphere, lots of nice options on menu, tasty food and good price - will be back regularly! Would suit all sorts of occasions from simple meal out to special occasion
Terrible service. Dated ambience. Below average food. There's so many restaurants on Orford Road so I'd advise everyone to avoid this place, unless they want take away pizza which looked pretty good.
We have been to this Restaurant many times over the years but this was by far our worst visit. We had to wait 20 minutes for our drinks and an hour for our main Course. The Starter we ordered was not available. The food was very good when it finally arrived but when we asked for the Bill, we were told there would be a 20 minute wait ! The Staff were all really stressed and while I have every sympathy for them, at the same time, I had booked a Table for a special occasion which cannot be repeated, so the overall experience was very disappointing.
Good food. The restaurant was busy and the service was a shambles. We were told the main meal would take about 30 minutes. It was suggested we have starter. .Fine.that took 15 minutes. The olive oil was served up, but the olives and bread was served 15 minutes later. When the meal was finished. The waiters kept looking at the empty plates, but walked away. We were never offered the desert menu. Well trying to get the bill was another trial. Sorry, never again.
Lovely food, nice good atmosphere and friendly helpful staff. Nice wide selection and choice on the menu. For starters, mains and puddings. Plenty of room to sit. Comfy chairs to sit on.
Had a lovely time, with friendly service and very nice food. Would be happy to come back after what was a very pleasant dining experience.
Excellent - great food and great staff! 100 recommend, being going for years and years and always our number one choice for family celebrations or just popping out for a meal locally.
