Fabulous food, very helpful, attentive staff and nothing too much trouble. A first class service in all departments - many thanks. We shall return soon.
Beautiful fish and chips. Crispy batter fresh cooked prompt attentive service five stars, finished with Mr Moo's ice cream. Not rushed to finish had 15% discount voucher from website which went towards final bill but not expensive even with discount would really recommend
Excellent tasting food and polite waiter service. After a long day at work it was a treat to look forward to. I shall visit Nash's on a regular basis
Great value and friendly service matched by great fish and chips. Only thing wrong was one of the fish pies could have been a little warmer.
fish and chips were excellent but tea bags would be better in the hot teapot not with the cups. Prices good, service was ok. x
Booked online with ease, beautiful food and friendly staff really enjoyed our visit. Lovely decor and reasonable prices for quality food. WI'll definately be visiting again.
Lovely fish & chips. Waitress got our order slightly wrong but soon rectified it & our discount voucher wasn't deducted from the bill but it was soon sorted out. Grand Theatre just over the road so very convenient location if you want a traditional meal before a show!
Fantastic food as always. The best fish and chips in the world! Incredible value for money with really attentive service. we would recommend to anyone who wants to know what real fish and chips should taste like.
A long time since I was last here and the years have not been kind. The restaurant is very tired looking and does look as if it's had a makeover in decades. Our waitress was very grumpy although the guy serving drinks was less so. Food was OK although the chips were a bit underwhelming size-wise. Mushy peas practically cold. "Cup of Tea" was initially served as a cup with a tea bag in it accompanied with a pot of water; needless to say that went back. The restaurant, which is quite a size, was practically empty. With so much choice in Leeds now for pre-theatre food there's no way this place is going to survive. One for the pensioners lunches only I'm afraid.
Needs bringing up to shape. Has not had any expenditure for forty years. It now is almost a museum piece. Food was average. Will not be rushing back.
Excellent food, perfectly cooked with plenty of variety on the menu and a large selection of drinks and desserts. Very nice atmosphere and very friendly and efficient staff. Well recommended!
Main problem was that they did not have details of my reservation! Fortunately there were vacant tables but that is not the point, you obviously knew that I had made a reservation but somehow or other this had not reached the restaurant. All a bit of a waste of time.
The restaurant was fine but I was very surprised that they had not received my booking. I thought you were doing that for me. It was very busy.
First class welcome and fantastic food. The best fish and chips in town. A great place to eat and so handy for the Grand Theatre or First Direct Arena.
Very friendly staff, lovely place to go. Very helpful and didn't rush you to finish plus kiddies get a free ice cream which my son had in a coronet to take out. I'll definitely be going back again
Great meal. Really friendly staff :) I had a friend from Australia over and the lady serving us brought her a sample of mushy peas to try as they don't exist in Oz!
Enjoyed our fish and chips at Nash's. Fish had light crispy batter, chips non greasy and yummy mushy peas. However when we arrived they had not received our booking. I don't know if that was their fault or not because they had a manual booking system. Fortunately they were able to fit us in. A two course meal with wine came to about £37 which we thought was good value.
The fish and chips were excellent. The fish was lightly battered, just perfect. The chips were very good, and th mushy peas were delicious. We arrived very early, 5.30 p.m., and the restaurant was virtually empty and without atmosphere. However, when we left at about 6.30 p.m. it had filled up substantially.
We visited again on 24th Sept, for the best fish and chips in Leeds by far, the staff as always were very efficient, helpful and welcoming. the overall value for money for both food and drinks is excellent. The XXL haddock is brilliant! We love this place, we will be back again soon.
Me and my wife Haddock and Mshy peas .With it I had chips and wife had a salad. Good and tasty.very convenient for theatre .
very pleasant staff and served quickly and fish and chips up to their usual standard. Always good value and choice, would definitely go again before/after visiting the theatre
Disappointing, rude staff. average food, average service, will not go again
Loved our visit to Nash's lovely restaurant, friendly staff and great food. We weren't disappointed. The fish pie was lovely as was the fish and chips. Great desserts too we shared an Eton mess yummy!
Well up to the usual high standard, clean, comfortable, friendly staff, excellent haddock and superb batter. What more could one ask for? I don't need twentyfive words!
Helpful and Friendly staff. Nothing is too much trouble and they are very attentive. The food is always hot and very tasty. Would highly recommend a visit :-)
Good service and good food. Big portions and all piping hot. We really enjoyed a traditional fish and chip meal in quaint surroundings that was not rushed. Our second visit and will definitely go again.
Good fish and chips. Swift and efficient service. Very good value for money. Convenient for Grand Opera House. Our party of 11 people was well looked after.
This was a pre theatre booking. We were greeted and seated as soon as we entered the restaurant. the service as has always been our experience was good. The fish was excellent. The staff cheery and helpful. What more can you ask.
We were surprised how quiet Nash's was at 5pm on a busy Friday in Leeds - only about 3 tables taken including our own. I have not been there for some time but I have never seen it like that. Obviously that affects the ambience of the place but I have to say that the food was well cooked, hot and enjoyed by all. My overall rating is influenced by the lack of atmosphere.
Comfortable table and atmosphere in an excellent environment. Friendliness of staff and quality of food was excellent. Position of restaurant in relation to theatre was ideal.
Good food, as always but décor and service felt 'tired' and minor mistakes were made. It wouldn't stop us going again though because all the essential boxes were ticked and we enjoyed ourselves.
Booking on line very easy. Confirmation acknowledgement by return email plus reminder nearer the date. Staff and service very friendly and the food extremely tasty. Could eat here every week if I could!! Pity the 'shoppers' menu isn't available as the portion size was better but still can't fault the fish.
Smashing traditional gem in Leeds. Perfect for visiting The Grand Theatre. Generous portions, quality fish and friendly staff. My first choice in Leeds for a cheap and cheerful meal with friends.
Brilliant service, quick & lovely helpful staff.. No waiting time at all for the table, for our drinks and food. Only wish I had room for one of their yummy looking deserts. Great prices too! Will definitely be making return visits & ideal place if going the the grand theatre.
Fish and chips perfect for my husband, I had the healthy option of grilled haddock with a to die for pesto parsley sauce, yum yum. Good friendly service, ideal location for a theatre visit. Good value.
Excellent fish and chips and very good value. Also staff very helpful and prompt service. I eaten at Nashs for over forty years and never been disappointed. Also love that the old character has been kept
Service was great, staff friendly. We turned up early and that was no problem either. Food was lovely and cooked fresh. Setting was really nice, I haven't been there before but will definitely go again,
The location is great for the theatre the staff are very friendly and welcoming and the surroundings and decor is good also. Not to mention the fabulous fish and chips that are always on point. Thank you.
Really enjoyed our meal, delicious fish and chips, reminded me of being at the seaside they were so good. Good old fashioned restaurant with great food & excellent service
Very pleasant evening before trip to the Theatre. Staff were friendly as always and the food was excellent, very tasty and didn't stay on our plates for very long. Not rushed out, 2nd round of tea was fine.
The service was excellent. Both ladies who served us were very helpful and it made for a pleasant meal. The food was plentiful and hot.
It was helpful to have the choice of booking online in advance. It's in a great location and close to the shops. Lovely food and good prices.
The food was great, but the atmosphere was terrible. We booked for 7pm and were greeted by obviously annoyed staff. It took us a while to work out, we were obviously their last booking of the evening and they had been hoping to escape work early. It was unfortunate that even though it was BEFORE closing time, they were cleaning up around us, and we had to exit the building via the back entrance. Might be ok for lunch, but I certainly won't be planning dinner there again!!
Fantastic fish and chips, best in Leeds by far. The waitress staff are amazing, friendly and efficient . Great value for money. Highly recommended. We will be back again soon.
Actual white fish was nice but they had not let it drain and the batter was full of grease otherwise would have scored higher by me.
Very nice meal. Plentiful and hot. Nice presentation and served nicely by friendly staff. We had the Haddock and the Haddock Goujons with herbs. Delightful. The premises haven't changed in 40 years. The decor still "Olde Worlde" but that's what gives it charm and atmosphere. (If you like noisy eating houses where there's loud music and loud diners, this is not for you) If, however, you prefer comfortable, warm, atmospheric surroundings, whether singles, couples, families, or lovers this is the place for you. Which reminds me, there's no plaice on the menu!
Nice to see that gluten free was available. Nice food. Good fast service. Pleasant atmosphere. Nice location. A tad pricey but overall a good experience.
We had a pensioners fish and chips but no tea was brought for us, this was despite asking again. The food was very good but despite no one being in the restaurant they appeared as if they couldn't be bothered.
The restaurant was quiet when we got in, we were shown to our table and the staff were very attentive. Food was lovely we would recommend it to anyone.
Restaurant was immaculate staff were very helpful and friendly, they cater for Gluten free people also, and the food was delicious hot and well cooked.I will certainly recommend it to family/ Friends,
