Very poor service and long waiting times for food, even though we were the only group in the restaurant. Staff were not very welcoming, and didn't seem to want us there. When we overpaid we were not given the change. Food was very good though, but more expensive than advertised on the website.

Delicious food and great service. The gurkhali soup starter is phenomenal!

We asked for a jug of tap water which arrived promptly but no glasses were forthcoming despite asking several times. Charge for complementary was initially added to our bill (removed on request). 1 of the dishes in the vegetarian thali was not as advertised - this was corrected on request. Otherwise was a good meal and experience.

The food was excellent, but decor needs a good clean or modernising, over all we had a good night. The service was good and prices were ok.

First time visiting this restaurant and would definitely return. The staff were so helpful in advising different dishes and the food was cooked to our specifications. If you like this cuisine then I would highly recommend eating here.

Very good evening, staff were friendly, we had the set meal (8 of us), which was very varied and tasted very good. We would definitely recommend this venue for a night out.

Only reason I haven't rated this a 6 is the service could be improved, ordering drinks then having to re order because staff getting distracted with people coming in etc... leave one person behind bar. overall the food was excellent ****** definitely recommend.

pre booked a table for 6 through google got confirmed, then had someone phoning me to say you not come tonight, you not come table full... so i never went but the experience to that was poor, yes they did phone me, this would not of happened if they did not advertise seats were available...

Clean, bright restaurant with a subtle take on seasonal music. Great food and very friendly service on a very busy night when every place was taken, mostly by large Christmas parties. A bit more rushed than usual, but in fairness that was to get us served before the very large parties and the food was as good as ever. The best pint of Mongoose I have had. We shall go back again and again.

The food was great, staff were attentive and the price was very reasonable, could do with freshening up though. Would definitely recommend a visit, we would go back.

Excellent food and service. We arrived early and had to wait for our friends to arrive, no problem waiting and well looked after. At the end of the meal we were left to chat without any pressure to move on - even when everybody else had left.

My party and I thoroughly enjoyed our food, service was excellent, all round good evening. Would most definitely go there again; having said that not my first visit to knew what to expect.

Local family-run restaurant with amazing Nepalese curry and good prices. The location and décor may not be super classy, but the food is high quality and the atmosphere relaxed. Food usually arrives pretty promptly, but ask for the bill early if you need to leave in a hurry. Highly recommend anything from the “Chef’s Recommendations Nepalese Dishes” section of the menu, especially anything with lamb. Their 'normal' Indian curries are pretty good too if you aren't feeling as adventurous, but that's not why the locals go there. If you aren't familiar with the area, then be aware that parking is mostly free around the station after 6pm, but can be difficult to find a space. I normally park in the layby on Hulland St, which usually has room for 3-4 cars that time of night. It's my favourite place to eat in Derby and I highly recommend you give it a try!

We went to The Mount Everest Restaurant for my son's leaving school meal. I requested a bottle of processco on the table but when we arrived they had not got any so that was disappointing to start with. The complimentary poppadoms and pickle tray was a nice touch and the main meals were really tasty full of traditional flavors. Also the hot towels was a nice touch. But we were not asked if we would like a coffee at the end of the meal. We also had to ask twice for the bill. But the place was nice for a special occasion. But the service was a bit slow.

First visit we were impressed that we were given complimentary poppadums and pickle tray. We tried two Gurka dishes which were very good. Staff were most attentive and restaurant clean and tidy. Only reason not giving 5 is due to large party that arrived very loud and shouting. Spoilt atmosphere.

This was our fourth visit to Mount Everest and the food and service were as good as always. The curries are just that little bit different to your usual curryhouse staples and I definitely recommend the speciality dishes which are delicious. Washed down with the Gurkha beers, this makes for a perfect evening!

Booked for a large group (20). Food was good, but service very slow. Took nearly two hours from arrival to main course arriving (but we did have a starter)

Really good food, good atmosphere and reasonably priced. Would definitely recommend and will return. Service at the table was very good. The only slight negative was the greeting on arrival was a bit slow as the staff were very busy.

Another nice meal from Mount Everest will be back again soon the staff are nice and friendly always welcoming and pleasant, very reasonably priced and great quality

What can I say! Food and service was absolutely excellent as always and not overpriced. Been here several times and will do again. One of my favourite restaurants.

Good service, tasty food, and excellent value. A great evening out! As a large group of 11, we all had the set menu, but the staff were very flexible in catering for individual requirements, e.g. vegetarian.

A good place to eat the staff were very friendly and attentive the food was lovely. We were glad we had booked as a very busy place for a Tuesday evening

A surprise find on the outskirts of the city centre. Lovely trandional Indian food, friendly staff. Nothing too much trouble. Always had a nice time there.
