It is not the place that is advertised online & it isn’t the food that is advertised either it is falsely advertised and disappointing

Just the thing for a rainy autumn evening: cosy with traditional British fare. Greeted by Fran the mostest hostess in Clapham, you sit down in wood panelled ambient loveliness, home made breads and Prosecco soon follow. Local artists’ work always provide a fun talking point. Service is unobtrusive and cheeky, and the food rarely disappoints. The garden area now remodelled as ski chalet for the winter looks warm and woody. It was great to be back!

We went here for Mothering Sunday and we had the most wonderful time. We were greeted with a complimentary glass of prosecco and a very warm welcome from the manager. We had the signature roast which was delicious. The waiters and waitresses were really polite and friendly and the service was excellent. Great back ground music too. When we left we were given a complimentary bouquet of flowers which was such a thoughtful gesture. Thank you!

We had a lovely meal, the service was wonderfully friendly, the atmosphere was lovely and there was a cat! Day made! The menu is quite limited, although what we ordered was lovely, and we visited on a Sunday so it might be different on other days. You might want to check ahead if you have selective tastes.

The atmosphere is relaxed, the place warm and cosy, the staff very nice, great paintings on the walls, the food is delicious. Very good value for money. I totally recommend.

Great venue and service. Food was really well presented and tasted amazing. Waitress warned us on arrival they were really busy so might have to wait a while, which was totally fine as on a first date and needed time to talk. Also nice bars and clubs on Clapham Higjh Street, which resulted in a tailor-made evening.

Booked a table in the restaurant but got seated in the cramped bar area near the front. The tables weren't even big enough to fit both of our plates. The food came far too quickly.. as if cooked in advance and just reheated. Tasted like it too. Was expecting more for the price.

It has got Great food and a good selection of cocktails with a lovely atmosphere. Could do with more vegetarian options. Ideal date night but also parent friendly.

Fabulous, tasty food with a varied menu and fantastic service. It was my first time at Metro Garden but won’t be the last! The espresso martini cocktail list with all the flavours is genius.

Very bad organisation, we were waiting for a long time because they had a very big table but the service should carry out this! The food was good.

Excellent service, beautiful location, we just booked it in for our weeding party next year. We’ll definitely be back many times before our weeding event.

Lovely atmosphere. Staff were very attentive without being over bearing. We had a bottle of Pinot Grigio which was lovely and great value for money.

Metro is a cosy spot right in the middle of Clapham Common, they serve a great roast and the friendly service makes one feel like being at home.

Lovely little Clapham hidden secret! Great cocktails and food. Great outdoor space out the back that is heated in the winter. Book up early to avoid disappointment as they also host weddings!

This place has amazing food and great, quick service with a friendly atmosphere. I would definitely recommend eating here, especially ordering the scotch egg starter!

A wonderful environment and the most helpful and attentive staff, from the owner all the way to the waiter and bar staff. The food was excellent.

An extremely idyllic outdoor garden dining area and great service. Would recommend the Metro Garden board, I had it for one. We really could of stayed there all evening.

The restaurant at is a beautiful space, but the food was only average. And one of my friends found a hair in his caesar salad.

Very nice; we arrived at 1pm on a Sunday and it was quiet but was totally full by 2pm... The roast dinner was actually very good at £16.95, much better than most of the local pub lunches and we noticed most people chose the roast lamb which is often not offered elsewhere - it was also particularly good with two thick wedges of fat-free rose lamb. Would definitely go back though the starters and puddings were overpriced so we didn't have them.

Great customer service and everyone was really helpful and friendly. Both meals were delicious and well presented. Really enjoyed my glass of the Chenin blanc too!

Really delicious food in a fab outdoors setting. I would highly recommend for a summers evening, for both couples and small groups. The staff were also really friendly.

if you walk nearby, you'd probably walk by and it would be a mistake. inside, there is a lovely hidden garden, nice food and extremely friendly staff. a well hidden gem!

Not worth bothering with. Made a garden reservation but was seated in an area that looked like the maintenance end of a marquee with three small tables, despite it being empty. Menu was a badly printed a4 piece of paper with nowhere near as many choices as the menu online . No sharing boards, no set menu, no vegan options, no grill. When I asked the waitress she said they don’t have some of the options in summer, the other waiter told me it’s their regular menu. On paper this place looks charming. In real life it’s a glorified Whetherspoons with fake flowers.

Lovely spot. The garden is beautiful and cosy, awesome staff looking after us who were just so friendly. The only reason it got a 5 and not a 6 is the menus/offers advertised on the website (e.g 2 courses for £17.95) are apparently out of date and only the a la Carte menu was available so the evening was a bit more expensive than anticipated. Having said that, the food was delicious. I will be returning.

Great place, with great food. Really enjoyed it! Staff were excellent. Nicely hidden on the high street, will definitely be returning later in the year!

The garden was nice, and the food was good - but somehow the atmosphere was a bit off. Perhaps it was a strange mix of guests, or the slow service, but something meant the experience wasn’t as great as it looked on paper.

Lovely setting outside in the garden but quite slow service. May have been because our server was new. Went for brunch which was quite tasty!
