Great service. Friendly staff and nice atmosphere. Value for money
Not the fault of the restaurant, our food was fantastic, but I accidentally knocked a bottle of wine over trying to open one of the new snack items we ordered as a nibble pre dinner. These really should be opened before serving. The wine splashed the coat of the person on the table next to us and I feel mortified as a result. Very embarrassing and I wanted to leave immediately. I, of course, offered to pay for any dry cleaning and the person was truly wonderful about the incident. I however remained full of remorse which in turn ruined my wife’s evening too as I was very upset.
Been before and the meal was once again really good. Can’t fault the service and the atmosphere was lovely and festive.
Dined here 4 times and never had anything but excellent food and service. Definitely one of my favourite restaurants. Highly recommend
Service was incredibly slow, which actually spoilt our lunch, to the extent one member of the part had to leave before the mains arrived.
We have been before and enjoyed it. Our experience this time was as good as previously. We had a quiet table, as requested. The food was tasty, well presented and served nice and hot on warmed plates. Lovely rose wine served just at the right temperature. We never felt rushed at any point. Our servers were polite and pleasant although a little slow at times but we forgive this as we had such a good time.
Four of us had lunch here, the food was lovely and the service was excellent. I would definitely return.
The restaurant felt very cold and draughty. The Lasagne was unusual with no Cheese. Staff were lovely.
Mostly excellent all round apart from the service being a little slow as we had been seated for a good 20 minutes before we had to ask for a drink. Staff were very friendly though and food was good. Overall a very nice dining experience
Good very average. Frozen and salad without dressings. Wouldn’t go again
Very attentive service, friendly staff, good food and reasonable prices
Wonderful friendly, attentive and professional service. Great food in cosy surroundings- do try it, you won’t be disappointed ❤️
All good. The room temperature (upstairs) was very hot when we arrived) but the staff were accommodating and turned it down to our needs.
We all had a fabulous evening with delicious food. Thank you
Great staff and amazing food even on a busy Saturday night.
The food was amazing but the service wasn't great. Felt rushed
Well worth the wait for proper tasty fresh food .
Fantastic food & drink from an a.azing menu. Staff very friendly and ensured our evening was great.
Amazing food, fabulous atmosphere and wonderful attentive staff highly recommended
We were really pleased to see how busy the restaurant was but unfortunately our booked table was still in use so we were seated upstairs next to a large, noisy group. Service was slow but the food was good, particularly the prawn pasta. We we I’ll try again but they need to consider how many covers they can cope with.
Food was excellent. Staff friendly and helpful. The restaurant was busy had a great vibe.
Lovely atmosphere and entertainment included with a magician and trumpet player
Amazing restaurant. Went for my boyfriend’s birthday and had such a good time. There was live saxophone, an in house magician and the food was delicious.
Great food and the majic guy was excellent, enjoyed the atmosphere
Very delicious food and Cocktails. Amazing place and friendly staff
Just WOW! From the smiling greeting by the manager, to the attentive waitress's. Having a magician entertain us whilst we had a lovely glass of wine and decided what to order from the menu. The finale was the food, the fish was exquisite and so were the prawn and chicken pasta dishes. My daughter was blown away and this is now her new favourite place. Thank you Merchant of Venice for a spectacular dining experience
Perfect from start to finish, attentive staff, beautiful decor and excellent food. Can't wait to visit again!
The food was cooked fine , my choice was not as good asI thought it would be, try some thing different next time.
There was live music on Friday and Saturday night. Fortunately we were seated at the other end of the restaurant.
No complaints, absolutely love this restaurant cannot wait to go back already.
A lovely dining experience. Will not hesitate to Rebook. Great

Had a very lovely lunch, great atmosphere and tasty food. Dona gave amazing service very attentive and friendly 😁
Not much to say more than...I will be back :-) Loved it (ambiance, location and food) Thanks
Very attentive staff. Excellent food and excellent service. First time for my friends and they would certainly recommend this to others.
We booked a table for four for a university reunion. We arrived exactly on time but the table was not ready. We were shown to an upstairs area to wait for our table. We felt a little ignored as we waited for menus, drinks and some staff seemed confused as to what was happening (one asked if we would like a table downstairs, which is what we had been shown to this table to wait for). We had to ask three times for water and so it went on. Having said that the staff were very apologetic for the confusion and delays and the food was very good, so all in all a good time was had.
Everything was excellent.....the welcome, the atmosphere, the service and particularly the food. Nothing negative to say.
First time at Merchant of Venice, the food was excellent and we all had a great time thank you
Best in every single way - the food, the atmosphere, the service. The staff were the loveliest - so kind, friendly & attentive. Would totally recommend - can’t wait to go back X
Lovely place to eat. Food is always good. Service is great.
limited menu. Probably won't go again. etc etc etc etc
Plenty of staff around but we had to wait for a while before someone took our order, had to remind waiters that we were still waiting on drinks even after starters had arrived. I asked to change a sauce in my pasta dish and was told it was possible, dish still arrived as per menu and waiter mentioned that it was the same and has not been changed per my request. He took it back and whilst I waited for it, the sides got cold and so did my friends dish. Not sure what was going on but it was not a good first time experience. Not sure I would recommend or re visit
Fab pasta the best ….will go again very soon 🤗
Great authentic Italian food and excellent service. A really enjoyable evening.
Lovely lunch and very pleasant and helpful staff with delicious food.
Couldn’t really fault our experience at all and I’m sure we will visit again 🙌
The food was delicious and plentiful. Nice decor and friendly staff. It is only small so the noise level can get quite loud when full.
The waiters and waitresses were lovely and friendly. Also attentive even as it got busier. Disappointed with my cannelloni as bland and filling was very dry. Nice ambience though.
