Excellent pizza. Love mammas they always have amazing pizza and never disappoint. The waitress was really good and helpful. Definitely recommend mammas to anyone that wants a delicious pizza.
Muy buen servicio y muy rápido. Muy buenas las pizzas.A mis hijos les encantaron. Muy atentos los camareros en todo momento. Para volver. Muy recomendable.
Lovely staff and the food was great. I loved having my steak served on a hot stone so that I could eat it just as I like it. Nice location to watch the world go by too.
We had a very good welcome and found the staff very friendly. We were there at 7.00 and the restaurant was not too busy. We enjoyed our meal although we found that the pizza crust was thicker than we like it. By the time we finished our pizza I think every table was full and we sat chatting for some time with no one offering us a coffee or desert menu. We were not in a hurry so it wasn’t a problem, however eventually we did get impatient at the long wait and we did attract a waitress’s attention and after a short wait had a delicious key lime pie and Di Rollo ice cream and coffee. By this time some tables had emptied and peace was restored. So it was a very mixed experience.
Pizza' s were okay nothing impressive, service was really slow considering we were one of the only people in there. Overall it didn't meant expectations.
Excellent staff, delicious food, amazing pizza’s, great for coeliacs! Will definitely be back soon. Only slight issue was amount of food which meant I had pizza for tea too.... and anyone who knows me knows this is definitely not an issue! Good work Mammas!
Personale simpatico in una delle location più belle di Edimburgo. Pizza abbastanza buona che può essere condita in moltissimi modi. Può essere una bella idea per una cena easy.
Food was lovely and the staff were attentive and friendly. I went for my birthday and was given a complimentary drink which was a great touch!
Mamma's has a great location and vibe. I appreciated the lack of music/ noise as I was there to talk to my brother. We received a good welcome, great window table and fast helpful service. Pricing is geared to tourists in the popular Grassmarket, though the University is very close by with good alternative places to eat. We specifically wanted gluten-free pizzas which were tasty, though a couple of toppings were slightly sparse. It was Saturday night but we were not pressured to leave after our early meal - much appreciated.
Always great pizza, much better than the usual pizza chains. Always try to visit here when I’m in Edinburgh. Careful of the spicy topping if you’re not into hot food.
Lovely place. Great food at good prices. Will be returning again on my next visit to Edinburgh. Mostly the staff were friendly and smiling and atmosphere very good.
Food was great and the staff was amazing. Can't wait to go back. The spicy meatball pizza was heavenly. Great crust and just like being in the states.
Food is as described and tasty. Seating wasn’t inspiring and we were tucked away in a corner. However, staff were very attentive. That’s why it’s a 5. Good job!
Absolutely amazing food, I'm not a great pizza lover but this place could easily convert me! My kids also loved what they had too, chicken burger and lasagne, quick and friendly service.
It was just ok. Service was not great and the food was not as good as I thought it would be. I’ve had nicer pizzas in Edinburgh.

Really tasty pizza, friendly staff, warm atmosphere on a snowy day. Fantastic gluten free menu options and really tasty gf pizza base - well done Mamma's :)
Great place, great staff, friendly atmosphere, pizza just a little on the dry side. One two three four five six seven eight nine ten eleven.
Visited on a Sunday night and we had great food, served by great staff. Kids in particular are well looked after. Highly recommend if in the Grassmarket area.
Food was great, staff were great, food arrived quickly and we had a great time. We would definitely recommend to anybody visiting Edinburgh, particularly coeliacs!
Good food. Very helpful and friendly staff. kid friendly. Can't ask for more when dining as a family. Great gluten-free pizzas for people with allergies or intolerances too.
Coeliac thumbs-up! Best gluten-free pizza in Edinburgh! Best gluten-free pizza I've had in fact. Great service with helpful knowledgeable staff, in a pleasant friendly atmosphere. Child friendly too. Recommended.
Nice food for reasonable prices ..good location ..friendly staff.. great gluten free options for celiacs ..would certainly visit again next time we are in Edinburgh
There was too much cheese on the pizza toppings. Also plates were too small making cutting pizza difficult. Lasagne was very dry and again too much cheese. Service was friendly and efficient
great service, staff always helpful and friendly! we were a group of 9 and not one issue with our food. will definatly be back again :)
Gluten free pizza was the best! The servers were attentive and everything we ate was top notch. I would definitely go back the next time I’m in town.
quality lunch for 4, good friendly service, interesting pizza options, party happy all round quite quiet on a January Saturday lunchtime, good location on grassmarket
Amazing service, food was incredible too. There's a 25 word minimum limit. There's a 25 word minimum limit. There's a 25 word minimum limit. There's a 25 word minimum limit.
Nice food, but nothing special, friendly service, but they forgot one of our deserts and it turned up tens mins after the other. Slightly dated interior and only one loo, which is inadequate for a restaurant this size, these days. It was reasonably good value, but the menu is a bit confused/confusing and it’s hard to work out how much things costs - until the bill arrived! Overall it wasn’t a bad meal, but then again I wouldn’t rush back.
Lovely restaurant, great food and all the staff were so nice, very friendly and attentive. We all has pizzas and they were very tasty. Will definitely be back.
Great steak and lovely staff! Love to visit there when in Edinburgh. Always look forward to a meal at Mammas. Great spot in the Grassmarket.
Not the best. A few menu items were unavailable. The restaurant was cold. The quality of the food was not great. In fairness, however the restaurant did not charge for two main meals. Felt sorry for the server who had to deal with the complaints. He did a great job in difficult circumstances being badly let down by the kitchen.
Excellent pizza and service will definitely be back. Thanks for a great night.
Very friendly staff. Great value fir money would recommend to family and friends great location would plan Another vist in the near future . Thank the chefs too
Very good pizza, friendly staff and reasonably priced. Will worth a visit if you are in the area. Love that the place has been open since 1985 and appears very little has changed which is a good thing!
We are never disappointed with mammas the staff are always very friendly we had 4 children varying in age from 6-12 they enjoyed the kids menu which is great value .. and they all get to pick a small toy from the treasure box on the way out .. Thank you again for a great experience. Also can I just add we arrived early and there was no problem with seating us ...
My third visit. The staff were friendly and the food was great. I would definitely recommend going if in Edinburgh. (Had nachos and the haggis pizza.)
I used to be a regular diner at Mamma’s way back in the early 1990’s. This was a visit prompted by nostalgia. However I have to say everything that I loved about Mamma’s from back in the day is still there today. This is one of THE best places for pizza in Edinburgh. It was true then and I’m delighted to say it’s still true today.
Good service and a good meal, right in the Grassmarket so the whole area was buzzing. We would go back again. wee-est gents toilet in the world!!
Brilliant experience from the moment we entered. The friendly waitress sat us down, 2 adults and 5 kids (ages 4-7 yrs) armed with coloured pencils and activity sheets. Drinks were brought quickly and the activity sheets kept everyone quiet til the pizzas arrived. The pizzas were fab, beautifully cooked and devoured by all, finished with ice cream. Thumbs up from everyone, including 4 7yr old boys - not easy. Thank you Mamma's for such a great time.
Delicious food and friendly staff. The haggis pizza is not to be missed! And all in the setting of the Grassmarket, with loads of pubs to move on to afterwards.
Fantastic food and great staff. Was there for Saturday lunch before rugby and although quiet, we weren’t disappointed by our choices. Good choice of local beer
food was lovely and staff were very helpful, made our family meal very comfortable. pizza always goes down well with the kids. five stars from us
Great pizza and service. Seating not well thought out and booths too small. Otherwise enjoyed it! Very reasonably priced with good selection of drinks. Fairly nice decor.
Lovely gluten free items. I am a coeliac and require a strict gluten free diet for life and they were happy to accommodate! Would visit again.
Mamma's has really good wings, decent gluten free pizza, fantastic puddings and a truly lovely staff. We will absolutely be hurrying back just as soon as we can!
Food was lovely but v spicey and prepare for a long wait (they warn you about this but if you don't have long this would be no good). Great vegan and gluten-free food!
Great restaurant, fabulous, helpful staff. Will visit again when in Edinburgh Good prices, nice cosy atmosphere.Very busy place which is always a good indication of how good it is.
The food was great and the staff were really attentive. It was a really comfortable place to have a casual meal in the middle of the busy city.
Good quality food matched with fantastic service in a relaxed atmosphere. Being located in the Grassmarket and it being a big tourist area, I wasn't expecting the food or service to be as good as they were, and the prices were decent too. Gluten free options were great and the staff fully understood keeping things separate for a coeliac, even wrapped up our left overs!
