Been here a couple of times. Pleasant surroundings and tasty food.
Good to be back again to enjoy the food and atmosphere
Food was good.service was very good. 4 of us enjoyed the evening. We would come back on a future date.Michael from Totteridge
My second visit to this restaurant and again great service and excellent quality fresh tasting food
The worst ever experience! Will never go back, very rude manager
Great Indian food and great service. Highly recommend! Can’t wait to go back
Excellent lunch, delicious food and good service. Thank you. X
Food is delicious however portions are quite small ............ ....
Food tasty but hot food served on cold platters - food ended up cold after two mouthfuls. Shame as previous visit was better!
Looking forward to going back and enjoying more of the excellent food served here. A little more pricey than your normal 'run of the mill' Indian restaurant, but in fairness this IS more than your normal run of the mill Indian restaurant!
As for value for money, I feel the portions are too small. It is not just me who thought about this also friends told me the same. I think it should be reasonable portion especially starters. The chilli mogo & panner for starters are only about 6 pieces & the rest is peppers & onions.
Lovely ambience, beautiful decor and welcoming staff. Very busy, food was good (starters were particularly fresh and meat quality great) . Owners very lovely and hard working as they are there every night. I’m making a large group booking here for a social event - these guys care about their product and service - highly recommend a visit 😃
The food was excellent. The restaurant was very full that evening which was why the service was a bit slow and it was also a bit noisy. However, we have been there a few times and each time we could not fault the food. Highly recommend.
Excellent food friendly service found it a little pricey for a local restaurant
Good local Indian restaurant. Very generous portions, tasty food. Service good, owners present and very nice.
Great food, excellent vegetarian choice, friendly waiters and nice atmosphere.
Lovely place to eat! Great decor and great food! The house red wine was even fab! Would definitely recommend and will certainly be going again!
Service was unprofessional, waiter made us hold our cutlery whilst he put plates down. Did not even come over to the far side of the table to put the plate down, instead made me take the hot plate with my hands. No dips/sauces arrived with starters. Waiters/waitresses spoke quietly so could not hear what they were saying. Waiter also got confused when I asked for the cocktails menu, instead bringing me food menu. But great tasting food. Menu should state what juices are available and whether they are fresh. Ordered passion fruit juice but seemed like Rubicon in a glass which was disappointing.
Delicious food, friendly and warm hospitality, nice atmosphere, excellent service!
Lovely relaxed restaurant with friendly staff who did not rush you and allowed you to take time, enjoy the food and catch up with friends. Perfect
Delicious food but had to wait a really long time for the food to arrive especially when the restaurant was not busy.
Fantastic food, with great service and nice and stylish restaurant.
At lunch restaurant was empty. Chicken karai was good naan really good. There was a man there who looked like the owner who never spoke to us which was rude
Excellent restaurant, authentic Indian food , lovely flavours, natural ingredients, great service. Central London restaurant opened in Whetstone a few months ago and you can tell they have the experience and quality of a top restaurant. North Londoners are lucky to have such a restaurant on their doorstep!
The restaurant itself is lovely inside, but being the only ones in there I did think we would have wonderful service which wasn’t the case as we had to keep calling the waiter over and found it very expensive for what we had compared to other Indian restaurants around even though the quality of the food was good.
Love this place, yummy food and great service. Great cocktails 🍸
Below average Indian food. Very disappointing Wouldn’t go back again
1st visit and we will definitely return food excellent service 5 star
Made some good choices for dinner so the food was delicious! Quite hot for anyone that prefers milder sauces so maybe advise the kitchen if this is you!
Very good. Looking forward to nxt time! Great food and service.
Good ambience great food. Would recommend for anyone looking for authentic Indian food.
Very interesting food - just not the cheapest....but it is in Whetstone... ;o)
In terms of money a bit expensive but the food is really good & the service.
Service was a bit slow in clearing your plates after the main course. Otherwise enjoyable all round.
Great food and excellent service. We had a 4 year old in our group and our server was extremely attentive and accommodating. Lunchtime was quiet which is not necessarily a bad thing. Dinner is obviously busier. The toilets were nice and clean. The only negative was that is was quite dark inside but we will definitely be returning.
Not good. Greasy plates and not spiced and flavoured. Service was good in parts but the food was not good.
Lovely service, delicious food (generous portions), really enjoyed it and will be back
Haven't been to Mala before but wish I had! Went with my 2 teenage boys and we had such a lovely meal. Even my 17yr old who can be a little more fussy loved every course. We had onion bhajis, lamb chops, popadums, methi chicken, chicken korma and tikka masala and side rice and bread. Amazing! The flavours were so good. I've had many an indian dish in my time but not quite like this. I will be back!
Had Very nice food and really helpful and polite staff
Lovely food ! Great location and beautifully decorated, will be going back
Enjoyed the flavours of the food would definitely go again
Our third meal at Mala. Each time we have had very tasty, interesting food, both vegetarian and fish dishes. The ambiance is nice and the service is excellent and prices very reasonable. We highly recommend a visit
Beautiful venue with excellent service. I have coeliac disease (gluten free) and am vegan and they had incredible knowledge of the food ingredients and cooking process plus I had a broad range of choice! The meal was absolutely delicious with beautiful presentation. Myself and my partner can’t wait to go back! An absolute delight!
Really disappointing. Nice starters, main course portions very small. They forgot our naan bread and by the time they brought them the rest of the food was cold. We asked for the fish bones to be removed at outset - they forgot. No excuse for it! Waitress’s have no finesse. Shame as decor is nice, restaurant is big and no one else was in there so no excuse for poor service. Won’t be re-visiting.
Had another enjoyable meal at Mala. The prices are a little higher than at other similar establishments but the superb quality of the food makes this acceptable. Will return again.
Presentation and service was excellent .Food was a sheer delight, fresh, tasty and wholesome .
A good twist on the usual. Interesting spicing. Lovely bread.
Lovely food great variety recommend the vegetarian lovely staff fair prices
Delicious food. Attentive service. Really enjoyable night out. On a par with the st Katherine’s Dock restaurant.
First time at this newish Indian restaurant. Really good meal - lamb chops and prawns were especially good. We will definitely be back
