Unfortunately, my high hopes for this restaurant fell short of the mark. Despite the restaurant being almost empty, the service was very slow. Had to go up to the bar to find a waiter to take our order. The food was very sub standard. I ordered a steak which had not been rested and left a pool of blood on the plate. It was also very dry and chewy. The waiter said it’s dry aged so it’s suppose to be dry which is not the case. My partner ordered the burger which again was bland and dry. When she asked me to try a bite, it was very chewy and very hard to swallow. Lacked flavour and flair. For a £20 burger, I would expect nothing but perfection.

I have been to Macellaio before and had a great experience with Costata but this time the quality of the meat was frustrating. They seem to have changed the menu and I ordered the ribeye, but what came was very thin, hard and chewy on the top, not medium but overcooked, nowhere near my previous experience. I specifically asked if the ribeye was dry aged like the costata etc and I was told it is. So either the quality is lower now or these additions are not up to par with their original offerings. Very sad to see one of my favorites lower their quality like this.

Delicious. Good service. High quality aged beef. Very good dinner at a reasonable price. They cut your steak based on how much you order and show it to you before they cook it.

Service a bit slow to start. Not all dishes came out at same time. Ambience after redecorating has become more stuffy and less convivial than it used to be. Food portion decent and no complaints about flavour..

Steaks left on side table when ready and delivered cold. Had to be re done . Service slow and staff seemed disinterested. It took ages for someone to take the wine and food order. Management need to organise things better. train the staff and enlighten on customer service. When paying over £100 you expect the service and food to be better

Pretty good food, the atmosphere is quite nice though might be a bit loud for people who enjoy quietness.

excellent meat, I particularly loved the offal to start with. One should eat nose to tail if you're going to eat meat. Also I enjoyed that I could order wine local to the region of the meat

Food quality was insane! Best Fiorentina so far in London. The cured meat was freshly sliced and very tasty and so was the beef tartare. Service 10/10, waiters and waitresses were all knowledgeable and polite. I will definitely go back.

Excellent beef. We had an 800g T Bone to share and it was a generous amount of meat. Came out sliced from the bone and well salted, maybe a little too salty for some but comes as large flakes so can be brushed aside.

From the beginning to the end, our dinner was a great experience! Everything was perfect! Italian staff very friendly and professional, with proper knowledge and passion of the products. Nice restaurant same as the service. Looking at the butcher catting your steak just before they cook it wasn’t an everyday experience and, obviously so, food was great.
