Ok but not worth the cost for Father’s Day meal

A fantastic meal. The staff could not have done more. The food was beautifully prepared and presented. Wine list was very good and an extensive range of cocktails.

Absolutely first class service and outstanding food. Cannot praise it enough. Only one minor issue - not sure why I was charged £10.95 for a single measure of Dry Martini and soda water - only noticed when I got home. However, this did not detract from the overall excellence.

Simply the best. Fabulous food, superb service, brilliant setting. An altogether amazing experience.

The visit was spoilt by the number of flys in the dining room, most near or on our food or drink. While accepting that the house is in the countryside, there must be technology available to control such pests in a dining area. I fear what the kitchen must heave been like.

Beautiful setting and very tasty food. Excellent service and nothing too much trouble.

Exceptional dining experience, great service, wonderful setting. A memorable day out. Only one small negative detail stood out: both the menu and the Bespoke Magazine contained some appalling spelling mistakes (e.g. 'Boredeaux' for Bordeaux, 'Pouillac' (it's Pauillac), etc. The front page of the magazine, in the subtitle: "Stubbornley (sic) English", "Quietly Eccentic (sic)". Call me a pedant, but at this level, these kind of details do make an impression. Proof-reading needed! Other than that though, as I said, a really special experience.

The food and associated service was good, as usual. However, the bill was wrong, again, it happened last time. I, also find the service charge of 12.5% presumptuous and embarrassing when there is a problem. I will, in future, leave a tip at my table.

We were seated in small room where a large noisy party were dining. Due to the inappropriate language of this group and because my grandson was present we asked to be moved . The staff then moved us to a larger cooler dining area and then we took coffee in the garden . Nevertheless we enjoyed our meal. Just one little niggle the men were served their meals well before the ladies. The wine prices were disproportionate to prices of the same wines I have paid in other restaurants.

Our second visit to Langar Hall. Food was amazing and so tasty. My only criticism was our empty glasses were piling up on the table and were not cleared, we were a table of 6 so quite a few empty glasses and unused wine glasses taking up space.

We went for Sunday lunch my wife is a celiac and unable to have wheat but loved the Roast Beef. However I cannot understand why a restaurant cannot supply f2f Yorkshire puddings they are available at most supermarkets and take 4 minutes to cook from frozen. Please use common sense and keep some in the freezer

A wonderful evening. Exceptional service and food. We went to celebrate my son's 21st birthday; a special occasion which Langar Hall helped make even more special. Thank you.

We were really looking forward to lunch, which was given to me as a birthday present (voucher), as we’ve been a couple of times before and had a great time. However upon arrival we were seated in the study and apparently forgotten about. Staff passed us several times, we were not asked what we would like to drink, after 15 minutes we had to ask if we could order a drink, 5 minutes later the waitress came back and asked what we’d like, but we hadn’t even seen the bar/wine menu. She got those and the lunch menu and we duly ordered the drinks, she said another waitress would be with us shortly to order food. Another 15 minutes and we had to ask if we could order our lunch. This was 45 minutes arrival and over 30 minutes past our table time. We were told she’d be with us in a minute, it was very busy. This is not really a good enough excuse, they know how many people are booked in for lunch. It was busy but, we saw staff walking around checking on other tables and tidying up. We assume, they have a system as to who takes food orders etc..which might work for the convenience of the restaurant but not for the customer. To be fair once seated the service improved greatly and the food was fine, but just little things could improve the experience like asking if you’d like more bread, asking if more drinks are needed, asking if you’d like butter with the cheese and biscuits etc. It’s not a cheap lunch and service charge is automatically added to your bill, I know you can reduce it by speaking to reception, but again that puts the responsibility on the customer to make a complaint, rather than the restaurant staff to do a good job. It makes it especially difficult when waiting staff are hanging around reception when you are paying. Not sure we’ll be tempted to go again.

Langar is the perfect place to meet old friends who live 100 miles from me. We return time after time because it is a delight. This time no exception. One couple were unexpectedly absent due to illness, we later learned. The staff could not have been more accommodating, Sitting outside, with a gin and tonic, when I arrived very early, was the perfect start to a happy reunion!

The presentation of the courses was imaginative and the flavour combinations were exceptionally good.

Always a lovely meal at Langar Hall. Extremely high quality for the price. As always service was as you would want it. Friendly and efficient. Such a beautiful place and it was nice to be able to have drinks outside this summer.

Always a treat to dine at Langar Hall, very welcoming and accommodating staff making you feel comfortable in the beautiful hall and gardens! We were celebrating a birthday and as usual the food was full of taste explosion surprises which fulfilled expectations. Thankyou Langar for helping us celebrate.

The weather was beautiful so we were able to sit outside to have a drink first. The staff were attentive without being pushy. The food was delicious, beautifully presented and very tasty. The bread was fresh, warm and delicious. After lunch we had coffee in the garden, a really lovely setting, chocolate truffles delicious.

Great service, and food, as always. Monday’s are always a little quieter, which has its advantages and disadvantages, but we all really enjoyed it
