This was my first time at La Bota having walked by it many times. I will definitely go back. The food was delicious and reasonably priced. The staff were super friendly and made the experience even nicer.

What looked like the owner was quite rude in the way he was trying to rush us for the next customer, even tho we had no intention of staying late..

Each time I visit, the food is equally wonderful but never identical, so even choosing the same dishes is exciting and interesting. Service is friendly and discreet.

We are regular customers at La Bota, often combining a meal there with a visit to the nearby Arthouse Cinema. We are invariably impressed with the selection and quality of the tapas, the service and value for money at La Bota and highly recommend it.

We've been to La Bota before and always enjoyed it but this time we thought that the food was better than ever. The service was good and efficient, all the dishes we ordered arrived together, were hot and most importantly delicious.

The food at La Bota is superb, always and the fact that people were turned away because the tables were filled by 8pm is indicative of its popularity. The staff are charming and we love going there. We've also been there on a flamenco evening which was very atmospheric.

A very nice and authentic restaurant. Great food and very reasonable prices. We loved all the food, particularly the specials. Octopus, patas bravas and whitebait are a favourite

Good selection of well-cooked tapas, most of a fairly classic kind. Wines are good, though fairly expensive. Lively atmosphere with most tables taken, and very efficient service.

Pretty decent food and prices. Nothing mind blowing but the food was good and my partner and I were more than happy with all the dishes we ordered. The wine was good too (can't recall which unfortunately). Good atmosphere and service (although we were there early so it was pretty quiet).

Nice food but service a bit casual. Restaurant needs to do sparkling wine by the glass as we often like this as an aperitif in the summer and do not want to drink a whole bottle preferring to go on to a white or red wine.

This is a very good local restaurant. It is always busy so people clearly love it. The food is excellent and served promptly. The staff are pleasant and helpful. Worth a visit if you have not yet been. We will be back.

Fantastic evening here with my wife. Great food and wine. All staff very warm and friendly. Service was great. Live flamenco dancing was a great touch and made for a fantastic atmosphere, although if you're not interested in the dancing you may find it noisy Will be back...

We still love this restaurant for its good food and good value for money. However it is not outstanding as it was under the previous owner. The emphasis on authenticity, freshly cooked dishes and quality of produce has now given way to more emphasis on presentation. Sadly the colourful and lively decor which gave a real charm to the place has now been replaced by a drab monotone (fashionable?) grey.

Amazing food - very fast service! We had about 12 plates between 2 of us and every single one was incredible! I Would definitely recommend.

We had been to La Bota a few years ago and been quite happy with it. When we arrived this evening we were placed at the back of the restaurant and when we asked if this was the only table we were told sorry that's what happens when you book so late. The ordering was fine, but the starters arrived with one of the tapas dishes and then ten mins later some of the other dishes arrived. The first dish was almost cold when the other dishes arrived. We had to ask for bread twice. Some of the dishes were very tasty but for the cost I felt that the quality was poor. For approx £5.50, the asparagus dish was three slices of cheese on top of four sticks of very salty asparagus. The potatoes and salad never arrived. The atmosphere was frenetic and the bill was incorrect. This was supposed to be a special meal with friends and ended up being an ordeal. The service was poor and we were never asked if everything was ok and had to ask for the bill twice. We left swiftly and went to a different restaurant for desert and drinks. A very disappointing evening.

I have just enjoyed a lovely birthday meal-delicious food and a menu that was easy to navigate (with lots of options) for our vegan party member. And very reasonable! Lovely friendly, helpful staff.

The original and still the best tapa place I crouch end. Try the chicken livers, it sounds like it shouldn't work but it does. Great staff, some of the team have been there for 15 plus years.

Excellent food, good flamenco show. Not too much salt in the food which is great, and the selection is wide enough for everyone to find something to eat. Prices are reasonable as well.

Excellent tapas bar, always enjoy a visit here, staff very friendly, they are mainly Spanish which adds to the authenticity of the place. We had eight tapas, all of which were very tasty and reasonably priced for Crouch End

We will come back. The atmosphere was perfect. It was a lovely place. We went early on Sunday night so it wasn't too noisy or too quiet, just perfect. The wine was excellent and good value for money. The food was very good, especially the blue cheese croquettes. The service was excellent and friendly.

We have eaten there a few times before, and liked it very much; this time it excelled itself. Every dish was so delicious we ended up ordering two more plates. Even the bread and olives were out of the ordinary We ate very well, drank very well, and ended up with a bill of £33 per head, including a decent tip. Very highly recommended.

It was a busy bank holiday Sunday but the service was appalling. On arrival our table at the back was just pointed out to us. No one came to take a drinks order for 30 minutes and only then when I asked them to come over. We waited 45 minutes between dishes, were abruptly told they had 'run out of potatoes', which we had ordered 90 minutes before. All this could have been forgiven if the staff had been in any way apologetic - instead we were made to feel as if the delays and problems were in some way our fault. I will not be going back.

Very nice tapas bar. Most dishes are simple but were made from fresh and high quality ingredients and were properly made. The ambiance and service were both great and overall we felt that the place gives very good value for money.

Decent food and good wine by the carafe, a winning combination. Service is a little inattentive, but the food comes out pretty quickly. It did, however, empty out pretty quickly and had little atmosphere by about 10.30pm - and this was a Friday night. Much cheaper than the other well-known tapas restaurant in Crouch End.

We usually have an excellent experience at La Bota, both foodwise and service, but last night was disappointing as some of the tapas came out to our table later than others, and one of the orders wasn't correct.

We ordered the bread and aioli, meatballs, two kinds of croquetas, lentil stew, bacalao tempura, garlic prawns, pollo al ajillo, mushrooms in garlic, 2 jugs of sangria, 3 beers, 3 coffees and two desserts and it all came to less than £100 for 4 people. Everything was delicious.
