More about the restaurant: La Bella - Cumbernauld
Cumbernauld is, believe it or not, the most populous place in Scotland. Though it’s a fair few miles from Glasgow, it’s a magnet for modern architecture trainspotters – and all that brutalist wonder has a tendency to whip up the perfect appetite storm. To sate such an appetite and slake such a thirst, many turn helplessly to La Bella Ristorante Italiano, located on Ettrick Walk right next to one of Cumbernauld’s most convenient parking complexes. Here you can expect the best of rustic Italian restaurant cuisine to whisk you miles away from the stark urban realm of Cumbernauld town centre.

La Bella’s menu is as delicious as anything Cumbernauld’s town centre restaurants can possibly hope to offer – and then some. It’s location on Ettrick Walk is safely protected from the Central Way shooting up through town, but there’s plenty of parking. Here it’s more Roman Coliseum than New Town brut – the perfect spot to soak up some long forgotten cooking and culture. At La Bella, creative chefs that have worked the kitchens of some of the best Glasgow, UK and Italian restaurants are on hand to deliver a prestigious dining experience.
Start at the beginning with starters like the soup of the day, Scottish blue shell mussels, Italian garlic bread topped with Atlantic cocktail prawns, arancini and mozzarella sticks. There are pizzas aplenty at this restaurant, also one of Cumbernauld’s favourite pizzerias, and a great value lunch special that many of Cumbernauld’s weary town centre workers take advantage of throughout the long, long week. As for the rest of the menu, expect the best of classic primi and secondi piatti followed by delicious dolci. As good as anything this side of Glasgow.
