Fab food and great menu choice. A delight to support an independent pub rather than a chain. Warm, cosy and welcoming. Would definitely recommend to others.
Lovely Sunday lunch - huge portions, especially dessert! Love coming here and will definitely return. Great menu - makes choosing really difficult as everything is so good!
Excellent choice of beers, wine and food Is excellent, portion size is good. Atmosphere is family friendly, staff are easy going and not in your face.
Have visited this venue on several occasions with my husband and / or various friends. Always a warm friendly welcome. Never had an issue with any meal. Was a problem with the bill on last visit which was very quickly explained and dealt with efficiently and promptly. Excellent.
the food was very good and the service was good we had a very enjoyable afternoon at the Kings Arms today looking forward to the next time Paul and Lynne
Always have good food and service, good selection of food for everbody, with amazing desserts!! the beetroot risotto is one of the best I have tasted, and is lovely you can take dogs in there .
Excellent as always, great food and solid service. A varied menu with new specials weekly and good beer selection coupled with some excellent wines and champagnes for that special occasion.
Very nice surroundings and comfortable setting with lovely open fires, Friendly helpful staff who were very attentive. Delicious food but a little expensive I would happily recommend.
Great food and service, again! This time with 2 guests who were also very impressed. Logs fires give the restaurant so much personality and comfort at this time of year.
Fabulous Sunday lunch, great service and will definitely be back again very soon! It was also very good to be able to book online !
Lovely variety of food, amazing service, quick and friendly staff, will definitely be returning!! and you can take dogs in too. mouth watering desserts!! amazing cheesecake.
Lovely pub, relaxed atmosphere, great food and service, staff very friendly and helpful! Would certainly visit again! Toasty and cosy inside in a very cold day!
A characterful black and white pub with a varied menu and good quality of food Attentive service but can be busy at weekends so best to pre book using this site
Great service and extremely good value lunch menu that suited all of us from young to old! Helpful and thoughtful waiting staff which is important
Lovely tasty food with friendly helpful staff. Very enjoyable meal. We had the mushroom and blue cheese risotto which was delightful and the cod and cassoulet. Good sized portions.
We’ve been here a few times now and the food and service is always great.
We arrived a little early and were welcomed with a smile, quickly served drinks with a tab starting and shown to our table. Service was friendly and swift. The quality of the food was high with service to match. An all round first class experience and we shall certainly be visiting again. We drove 25 miles to eat at The Kings Arms and it was well worth it.
We had a warm welcome with staff being very helpful in directing us to a nicer table where as long as we were finished by a stated time was ours. Lovely food. I always enjoy vegetables there as they are not overcooked. Unfortunately too full for pudding, but from past experience that would have been good too.
Wonderful old beamed building with warm cosy fires. Food is excellent and staff service good. Would highly recommend this for a group outing or a cosy twosome by the fire.
Excellent food, lovely atmosphere and a cozy fire! Staff very pleasant and welcoming. Didn't try a dessert the main filled us up but sounded lovely
The set menu offered a good choice and was good value. The steaks were excellent value especially with free bottle of wine. Staff friendly and efficient
Friendly staff, warm and cosy atmosphere, food prepared well. Two courses per person plus a bottle of decent Chilean Merlot for £35, bargain. Will go back.
Visited at lunchtime with girlie friends & fabulous food Revisited the next evening with my partner & sons & fabulous food once again Great friendly staff, highly recommend a visit.
I like the rooms with the log burners going But gravy was too salty and salmon was too peppery Request to eat in the snug room, gets ignored when you book online
Great place amazing food well worth a visit . Will be going back . Staff are really friendly and helpful had steak was really good
Another pleasant evening; good service; value for money; nice big fire; food good apart for a plateful of Kale! No hesitation in going again. Worth a five star.
Lovely pub Amazing food. Went on a Sunday and had a fabulous atmosphere. Sunday roast was good for the money. We will be returning in future.
Excellent food atmosphere and service. There is a good choice on the menu and the food was cooked and presented exceptionally well. This is my 3rd visit and i will be returning soon.
lovely food and a lovely atmosphere would recommend to anyone
We received warm and friendly service, a delicious and very good value meal. Great surroundings , beautifully warm with a lovely crackly wood burner. We really enjoyed our family evening.
Super meal (I had ribeye steak, my dining partner had fish and chips). My steak was very tasty and the chips perfect! Friendly service - would recommend.
It was my Birthday. We had a wonderful meal and excellent service. The log fire was very wellcome on a cold damp evening. The beer was good too!
Always a great place to eat and drink , very friendly staff, amazing food , and a very beautiful old , traditional black and white country pub and restaurant . I have been going to eat here for many years and it has always been superb .
Lovely food, great atmosphere and friendly attentive staff. Would recommend for family dining as there is plenty of room in the main area where the log fires are and you won’t feel jammed in!
Went boxing day with parents decided on the Kings Arms as we have been on many occasions and always had a nice meal and the pub always felt cosy. We thought the fires would be lit, but only 1 was we asked to move tables as it was cold, the staff kindly moved us around the corner, but the fire was not lit and it was also cold in that area. Food fine as always
Excellent as always, and got your lovely Risotto back!! lovely helpful staff too, lots of choice. Nice you can take dogs in there too. will be back again!
Warm and cosy Inn. Very good, polite and friendly service. Extensive menu which was very good and priced well. We will certainly return. Thanks to all staff. :-)
Staff very helpful. Turned up early but staff accommodating and let us have a table. Food excellent. Great value for money. Would recommend and have a beauty treatment room at the back!
Lovely cosy atmosphere, great food and genial, helpful staff. A very nice place to eat, particularly on a chilly winter's evening!! Food quality always excellent.
Wonderful meal shared with friends for Sunday lunch. The pub was very welcoming with the lovely log burners and Christmas decorations. Staff were very attentive and service great. 😊
Great atmosphere. Great food. Great staff! I used to love this pub 30 yrs ago. Moved back and it is even better than I remember!
Very good service, staff were very helpful and pleasant. It was my husbands birthday and it was a lovely light lunch experience. Will certainly be happy to return.
Booking was easy. Staff friendly and helpful. Meal took a while but freshly cooked so expected. Great to have steaks cooked as ordered not all the same as so often happens. I had the liver which was a little too cooked for my liking but OK. Triple cooked chips were excellent I am told. My veg was fine except the broccoli which was so raw I gave up trying to saw through it. Kale was fine. My husband really enjoyed the pudding he ordered and my brother and I shared a slate of local cheeses which was lovely. Bill was around £32 each which is quite a lot for these parts including some beers but no coffee. Ambiance good but although the fire was lit we kept freezing halfway down the room as the exterior door kept being left open. Yes we would go again but would ask to be anywhere except in the long bar from the door when many tables are.
Service was very slow. Couldn't get anyone to take dessert order and it would have taken too long anyway so concentrated on getting the bill, which took another half hour! Food generally good with generous portions, but pork over cooked and dry.
Warm welcome. Relaxed atmosphere. Good service. Good value food. Beautiful village with nice walks.we have visited the Kings Armsmany times in the past & always enjoy the experience
Excellent food, excellent service ... always enjoyed the King's Arms in the past but tonight was even better than usual ... swordfish steak special was definitely special!
We had a very good meal and the steak ale pie was the best we have tasted in a long time. We found the staff polite and efficient and have no hesitation in recommending your restaurant or frequenting it again.
We had an excellent Sunday lunch at the Kings Arms, a lovely pub serving great food, we will be returning again soon to try their evening menu. Highly recommended.
A pleasant surprise as we have not been to the Kings Arms for some years...althought we were once regulars. The food was very good, and the staff very pleasant and it was a more relaxed, informal atmosphere than more formulaeic pubs. Could perhaps do with a bit more warmth...
Very warm welcome ,especially the wood fires on a colder October day. Friendly efficient service and delicious meals had by all ! We recommend the pub wholeheartedly.
