Love Kayal, the best flavours and tastes of Kerala represented in the UK. Great food, lovely atmosphere and an attentive, friendly and knowledgeable group of staff. Will keep going back!

It’s wasn’t our fist visit to Kayal but this time it wasn’t quite as nice as the times before, it was very busy understandably for a Saturday evening, we were sat upstairs on a table for two that just happened to be on the way to the restroom so constant traffic passing by all evening, the waiter came to take our order he seemed distracted even talking us out of having a starter !!!! The food as very good but the service wasn’t quite up to scratch our food was practically thrown in the table !!!!

Very friendly and helpful staff. The food was very nice and excellent value. We thoroughly enjoyed our experience.

Food was incredible, some of the best food we’ve had whilst out in a long time. Service was also excellent, staff were so friendly and helpful.

Amazing food and service. I have been in Nottingham for 5 years and I can’t believe I’ve only just come across Kayal. My partner and I went at a peak/busy time, but didn’t find the atmosphere overwhelming at all. Can’t recommend enough!

Fantastic food in a restaurant full of character with lovely friendly staff

Experience was good whilst there and food did taste good. However 4 of the 6 people who ate there ended up with suffering from symptoms of food poisoning that evening.

Absolutely fabulous food and dining experience. Great service and loved the fact that the delivery people were not allowed in the restaurant and waited outside.

Food was excellent. Had previously been to the herb resturant in leciester. The portions and service was better in the leciester resturant but quality of food was just as good

We had fantastic food. 3 great starters suggested by our waiter...the pork cubes were everyone's favourite. Really delicious selection.

Staff were accommodating of half of our party being delayed in traffic. Large party was accommodated upstairs so they didn’t disrupt us. Had to request water a second time. Overall very happy . Thanks.

This is the second time we have been here and it was all as good as we remembered. The staff, including our server Anas, was so attentive and helpful with recommendations, which we enjoyed. There was also a magician which was a nice added bonus. Food was amazing.

Kayal is a favourite with me and my colleague and it did not fail this time too. The Businessmen’s lunch option was excellent. Service prompt and courteous. We will return.

The duck curry dish was lovely. We found the menu a bit confusing as it was all very authentic and not dishes we had ever heard of, but the server was helpful when we described what we generally like from a curry. Clean plates all round. Service was a bit slow as it was super packed on a Saturday night, we had to keep catching the eye of waiters to order food / drinks / ask for the bill. We ordered a few waters that never came.

Very good & interesting food at fair prices in a good location Noise levels high as it is a big restaurant & was very busy. Like many others it has no noise reducing soft furnishing, curtains etc We waited quite a while at the table before anyone came to get even the drinks oder. However subsequent speed of service was very good
