We had an afternoon tea for an early mother's day. It was absolutely delicious, fresh and tasty and plenty of tea and coffee. Would highly recommend it.
The food was delicious and the service was amazing! Dog friendly pub and great environment!
Service was very poor. Drinks eventually came after meal. Meal was ok but nothing to shout about. No communication between servers and kitchen. We had to cancel out desert due to waiting over thirty minutes after placing an order. Other tables who ordered after us had finished and left while we still waited for service. Will not be going again or recommending
never been before, looked good on Internet. on arriving, also very nice inside, lady was very nice and friendly. I think she was the owner. Also, all the food good. we got beef roast, chicken roast, nut roast, all very good. zero faults, zero problems. perfect!
A chilly February day. Didn't feel very warm there. Few people. Good choices for starters and mains but some of the dishes disappointing. Young male sous chef / apprentice who served us , Finn was good humoured, knowledgeable about the food and enthusiastic . The female waiting staff very friendly but less efficent and distracted. Food was adequate but unexceptional Good beer.
We have had better meals but service and friendliness was good. We had a dog close by which barked too much which was annoying
Had a lovely lovely valentines dinner . Thank you Gupshill
Food is average but plenty of it. Service was slightly slow but very helpful. Room wasn’t terribly warm. Always feel comfortable there.
Food was great. Service (as in getting menus and drinks) quite slow. Staff friendly and helpful.
An okay experience. Could have been made better by turning the heating up and serving the food on warmed plates. Service itself was good.
Food & service was very good but it was very cold in the building which was uncomfortable
Friendly staff Needed more vegetables, new potatoes had black around the edges
Great venue - very traditional and Chrismassy atmosphere and we appreciated the open fire. Service prompt and friendly.
Excellent food, nice tables with enough space and comfortable chairs. Unfortunately lots of noise in the annex where we were, which seemed to have a flimsy inner wall open at the top.
Lovely food as always. Turkey dinner was lush. Good service.
My daughter and I come every year at this time, it’s where my mum and dad came, and where both of their wakes were held. Always lovely, it’s like a pilgrimage for us 😊
Sorry to say there was lack of communication around the request for a round table. They clearly had them but didn't tell me we couldn't have one. Confusion on our arrival about the booking and service was slow, half the table got their veg whilst it was a good 5 mins for the other half. There were 8 in the pre Christmas family dinner. Bar service slow but food was good.
Food was good. Service a little slow. Very very noisy and had a job to talk and hear.
Very busy. Had to wait quite a long time but food delicious
I booked a table in the restaurant as my friend has impaired vision, we were put in the Bar. When I asked if we could go in the restaurant because of my friends disability, the answer I got was " its only 1 step'. My friend doesn't like a fuss so agreed to eat there. We ordered roast pork and asked for crackling. There was no crackling, why? We asked for extra gravy we weren't told that we would be charged extra for such a small jug! Why not put the gravy in a jug instead of being poured all over the food? I have visited The Gupshill many times but this has definitely been the worse experience.
Great service and food really enjoyed it , staff really friendly
Nice first time visit for lunch. Nice quality food & wine
Good food. Friendly efficient staff. Value for money. Would go again.
A while waiting for drinks to be ordered & served. Food was was nice as always. Need to sort the salt pot as they were filled with salt flakes so couldn’t be used, I had to undo the stopper at the bottom to get any out!
We met up for a meal to celebrate a Birthday. Booking was really easy. Food was excellent, service good and swift. We weren’t rushed and really enjoyed a leisurely time together. Restaurant is lovely with lots of character. We loved the open fire.
Waitress was lovely . Really attentive and helpful with a smile and patience. Good food and speedy service.
Lovely meal fabulous staff, didn't rush us. The real fire was lit and tge fairy lights on. Fabulous atmosphere will go again.
I found the fish pie I ordered disappointing: it was bland and had too much potato and too little fish. My friend's choice of pork and noodles looked tastier.
The meal was nice but my burger was just a little bit overdone. Everyone else’s meal was fine. The desserts were overpriced in my opinion.
Nice pub and a great atmosphere with good food !
On line reservation was good. Food generally ok if not over-inspiring. Problems paying bill as card machines not functional so very time-consuming. Should do better.
Waitress was pleasant, drink service very slow (meal came first) and beer was not good. Three attempts (hopefully) to take payment.
Great service, great food and the staff were really attentive
We loved this place, lovely staff and welcoming atmosphere. Superb!
The staff are very efficient, and friendly, giving us excellent and timely service. Our starters of tomato and goats cheese soup, with fresh warm bread, delicious and the fish pate, slightly salty but still gorgeous. Lovely portions not too big, so still able to enjoy the main meal. The steak was cooked to perfection, medium rare, served with watercress and chips, a simple and great combination. The burger was a good, not too stacked, which made it easy to eat. The presentation and attention to detail is lovely. Good value, Highly recommend.
Lovely restaurant/pub - I love all the fairy lights. Food was really tasty - chicken goujon wraps. Will definitely visit again soon.
Lovely staff, especially Terry who had a wonderful helpful approach and great sense of humour.
We received a warm welcome, and all the waitresses were attentive to our needs during the meal. The food was good quality, tasty and hot, and we all especially loved the carrots which were served whole and were incredibly flavoursome like they might have come out of a nearby garden! I sent an email enquiry in advance about the food menu. The reply to my email said it would not be a problem to be flexible to some small requests and we should ask on the day; I was impressed that the waitress referred to my email and checked our requirements with us in this respect after placing our order. (Even though my son and daughter thought it was hilarious I had sent the email, which was apparently embarrassing; good thing Gupshill did not see this in the same way!) We would definitely go again for a return treat some time. Having recently found out my employer will be taking us at Christmas for our staff celebration, I am really looking forward to it.
Lovely friendly staff. Fabulous food at a good price. Always a reliable place to eat.
We are from Kent, and visit are aunty who lines in Tewksbury a couple of times a year, tonight we were served by Terry who was amazing, friendly and very helpful and made our experience a good laugh
The fish pies were excellent. The salad was lovely in that it had lots of interesting tastes. It was huge, with too much 'green stuff', and there was no salad dressing. I know I could have asked for some, but this omission spoilt the dish, as did the overcooked smoked mackerel. No worries, I shall just have the fish pie next time! 😘
All the staff were so friendly and helpful. The food arrived promptly and was all hot. All dishes we had were very tasty and there was plenty of it. Very reasonably priced. Adults can have childrens meals as well if you have a small appetite which was fantastic as well. Thank you we will be back again real soon 10/10 for everything
I met a friend from Bristol, I drove from Wootton Wawen. After our meal we were able to have drinks and continue chatting and catching up. We will do it again . Thank you.
Good meal and drinks-attentive, friendly staff and good atmosphere. Love the building!
First class! Professional and attentive staff especially the bar/restaurant manager. Food excellent.Order taken promptly and hot when arrived.
Excellent Sunday lunch, well presented and plenty of it, good value for money. Nice, friendly & efficient staff.
Excellent food with very good service in very good surroundings.I would thoroughly recommend it.
OK thanks, but had to ask twice for dessert menu.
