Friendly staff. and very good food clean and good service
I assume there was a staff shortage. Everything was fine until we finished our main course - then we waited with our dirty plates for half an hour, and no attention at all. about 8.15 someone came and asked us if we wanted desserts - kitchen closes at 8.30. Having felt we were then rushed to make a decision, we did decide not to have anything else. My birthday event a little bit spoilt, and no tip left I'm sorry to say.
It was great to meet and eat before Soph’s Bookclub last night. I love the fact that your Lunch Menu runs until 7pm, so that we can have a light meal, without breaking the bank. The service was great, and the food arrived quickly. Absolutely delicious mackerel wrap, with fries and leaves, I’d definitely have that again! We also had chicken goujon wrap and a ploughman’s. Also delicious and well presented. I think I’m planning to eat here before each Bookclub!
Location was great, quiet and perfect for our family catch up.
Excellent staff, our table ready for us on arrival. Delicious food and a happy atmosphere. Ingredients for a very pleasant Sunday lunch.Thank you.
Excellent roast. Pleasant staff. But the barman poured a sherry into a tumbler! I suppose younger people don't drink sherry. It didn't put us off and we'll come again.
The staff were amazing - Terry I think his name was, he’s a great guy and couldn’t have been more attentive. We will definitely be back x
What a lovely place to go and have Sunday lunch, staff were excellent
Sunday lunch - I chose the roast beef dinner and was offered a choice of pink or well done, chose pink and it arrived pink not a hint of blood and was very , very tender. Veg and potatoes very good although roast potato's just lacked a crunch for me to give full marks.
Always a good experience, the food is excellent and the staff are lovely!
A beautiful venue with very polite and welcoming staff. The food was lovely and the service excellent. A very pleasant atmosphere and we felt valued as customers. I’d definitely recommend the Gupshill Manor to everyone
Drinks were fine, service was very good. Venue is great. With a little more care the food could have been good too. Salads with brown edges, on some dishes no dressing. Little care given to presentation. Herb crusted cod tail, crust soggy, new potatoes a bit underdone, a tiny splash of salsa verde - more would have brought the whole thing alive - green beans over cooked. Everything just a little bit unloved. This is a good place to go for a drink but if you want to be impressed with your food and have that 'this tastes great' moment, this is not the venue for you. Good chefs in the kitchen would make this a destination venue though.
Lovely restaurant and good quality food at reasonable prices. Would recommend.
Set menu is very value at £20 for a 3 course meal prices of the other food items were reasonable. Atmosphere was good not noisy li,e some places but it wasn't full so maybe that had something to do with it. The staff were friendly and polite would go again.
Service wasn’t what we expected at all mains got taken away and wasn’t even asked if we wanted deserts or coffee
Food very dry and overcooked, service slow but staff friendly
Waitress was extremely rude & non interested. Table booked for midday, waited 45 minutes to be seated. Food was frozen chips, cheap sausages. Not asked if everything was ok with our meal or if we wanted more drinks, etc. Would not recommend or ever go back.
Great food, fast service & great value for money. First visit won’t be the last!
The girl who took our order at the bar was surly and reluctant. For the price I expected better presented & fresher food- it was at best mediocre. It’s a shame as I had travelled from Birmingham to meet my friend there. The outdoor space was lovely though, partly due to weather.
Good service. Very nice people. Very helpful. Good food. Ioveiy
Two of us booked in for Sunday lunch. It was quieter than usual. Meal was large for us, but we are small eaters. Plenty of meat & roast potatoes, 3 veg and lovely pan gravy, very tasty. Service was satisfactory. I have been many times before and always happy with Service and food
Food was delicious! Thank you, would definitely return if in the area again
Great food and a lovely atmosphere. Family visiting from out of town were most impressed! We're regulars so knew it would be enjoyable.
Just fancied a nice meal, we've always had a good dining experience here, and today was no exception. It was easy to make a reservation - we were expecting it to be busy - plentiful parking, friendly staff, and a speedy service.
Very slow to take order, but food arrived reasonably quickly. Some items very bland. Temperature in restaurant very cold. Disappointed
Excellent service our waiter was attentive and not overbearing. Showed us to our table immediately and was very efficient and friendly. Well done. The food was second rate, my fish was mostly batter and my friends steak cold. Lovely venue however and once again well done to our waiter.
The service was good, we had a roast lunch and the only criticism is the roast potatoes and parsnips weren’t very nice
Lovely meal, pleasant staff, just wish that there weren’t dogs everywhere. They should not be allowed in an area where people are eating.
Everything was 100% and we came away feeling full and nicely content. Minor mistake with bill but quickly and efficiently rectified.
The food was good but the staff were more interested in the bar customers than the two tables occupied in the restaurant.
First time to Gupshill Manor will definitely be going again top notch 👍🏻
The staff work really hard, which is very commendable and the food was good as well.Great location
Went with family for Sunday lunch. The meat was ok but the veg was hard. I think the Parsnips and roast potatoes may have been frozen, or if fresh were under cooked. The lager was good though. Would I pay £15.95 again of Sunday lunch…..No
Had a beautiful Sunday lunch and really lovely that you have an dog friendly area as know many people do not like dogs in the restaurant Staff lovely and helpful will definitely return
Gupshill was lovely, food was great especially the herb crumbed cod and garlic roasted new potatoes! Would certainly go again.
Food was great, atmosphere was great the staff were great too
Unfortunately, having booked the restaurant we arrived to find it was not available due to a Wake, ended up In the bar, if we had known we would have brought the dog with us. The food was mediocre at best, I had the beer batters fish and chips, I had better at Spoons in Tewksbury last week. Unfortunately the service was not much better, on this occasion I could not bring myself to leave a tip, having had to remind the staff to bring the wine and ask if they could clear the table and take an order for a sweet. Not sure what is happening at Gupshill Manor, in the Pat it has been a great place to eat. Hope it gets better soon.
Lovely meal, friendly helpful staff. Thank you. Would certainly recommend.
Delicious food. Excellent value for money. Lovely, friendly and attentive staff.
We were the only ones in the restaurant. It was great as we had 3 young children in our group and if they made a bit of noise we didn't stress about it. The waiter was lovely and nothing was too much bother.
Beautiful building friendly staff plenty of tasty food! thank you!
A chilly April day - no heating on and when finally it did come on - barely a trickle. Open fire finally lit after 3 hours of ‘chilling’. The place was dark and lacked atmosphere. The ploughman’s was poor - half a slice of bread and two small pieces of cheese, an egg, a small amount of leaf, a few silver skin onions and a bit of pickle - enough to cover the surface of a small oval plate. Anyone with expectation and a reasonable appetite would have not been impressed. As for the toilets - smelly! A beautiful building with great potential but cold - literally and metaphorically. I shall not be returning!
all good, we had a lovely evening with family thank you
Food ok although service was alittle slow last night , due to not enough staff on. But we always enjoy eating there and it’s very friendly and the two staff who were working were lovely.

We have been many times but was not impressed with our visit this time
Staff didn’t seem to look or know what they were doing. Staff service was slow and forgetful. Food wait was good and food good. Lovely sunny day but we were very cold in the original building had to wear shawl and coats. The heating did finally come on as we were leaving. Took 20 minutes to settle our bill. Main problem I think is lack of staff training. Very disappointing glad to get home to feel warm again.
They served us old reheated food in a microwave. Dog food level quality. Yet they charge high prices like its a quality restaurant. A complete joke
The dishes we ordered were not available. We were told that the kitchen had run out of pesto mash so two guests (I being one) chose chips instead. Then we were told the kitchen had run out of chicken. I and another guest then chose the salmon dish. The menu did not state that the Mediterranean vegetables were actually a ratatouille which the other guest, choosing the salmon, was not partial to a tomato sauce. The ratatouille on her plate was replaced with green beans. The chips on all three dishes were undercooked and had to be replaced. Once all the above had been rectified, we enjoyed our meals. But as I only eat chicken or fish, and having a fish dish for my meal the previous evening, I so would have preferred the chicken dish.
Our first visit - friendly staff, delightful venue full of character and excellent food - we will be back.
Great service and lovely food as it always is when we visit Gupshill. We'll be back!
