Roast beef was very good, particularly the Yorkshire pud and roast potatoe
Excellent service, yummy food. No difficulties catering for gluten free across every choice
lovely Sunday lunch with family. Great service, friendly staff and tasty food.
Really nice food and great big car park outside so no issue trying to find a space!
We ordered two main meals. The steak and mushroom pie was fine but the roast beef dinner was disappointing because there was very little meat and it was too fatty. Also, the roast parsnips were overcooked. The waiter changed that meal without an argument.
Everything was perfect. Staff plus great food and atmosphere .
Everything was very good 👍 I will stop by again.
Great food portion sizes and atmosphere thank you so much
The food was nice, but trying to order another drink turned out impossiblej, so had to go to the bar myself. Friendly staff, but a little slow. Food was well priced too.. It’s not local to me, but will probably go back if I’m back in the area. Very noisy night as there was a birthday party for 20 ish guests.. they could have seated us elsewhere. Could hardly hear each other talking.
Staff were very friendly and helpful, place was well presented and clean
Seemed like quite a limited menu. The prawn cocktail was delicious and the olives were ok but really didn’t need loads of marinated garlic cloves mixed in. The steak and mushroom pie was mainly mushrooms and a huge flaky pastry crust, more meat would have been good. Steak and frites ok but not brilliant. Excellent choice of wines, not so good on choice of gin as an aperitif. Overall ok meal and service, not outstanding.
Amazing food great location, definitely worth another visit soon. Would recommend
Very nice atmosphere and good food. Attentive staff but menu not updated to reflect meals available. Also different menu to advertised online.
Lovely welcoming staff and excellent roast beef lunch highly recommended
There were 6 in my party. 5 had roast, and 1 had fish & chips. Roast dinners, which were very nice, came quickly. We had to ask around 3 times where the fish & chips were. When people go out for dinner you expect to eat together not have to keep asking when the outstanding order will arrive
Lovely restaurant, good food, great service and lovely atmosphere. Definitely return again
Their bacon & brie light lunch served on Chips was awful
Once you were able to order the food arrived quickly.
The 3 course set memu. Starter of cheese on toast was ok and the desert that was sticky toffee pudding was lovely. The main course of beef and mash not so good. It was sent back as it was cold, amd the meat in all the dishes that came out was as tough as old boots. Whilst the staff were polite and helpful the service was quite slow. We waited for cutlery whilst food went cold and we waited at a vacated bar for what seemed like an age just to pay. The reataurant was quite cold too. I’ve been many times before and this experience was very different to usual.
Nice welcome, quick food time and excellent tomato soup! But I wish you had started us at the quiet end, not next to the karaoke birthday party!
Good meals for each of the three of us. Pleasant service.
Sunday roast was lovely, but staff very slow and seemed inexperienced
New potatoes should have thin skins which are easily removed, mine were just unpeeled potatoes. Fish cakes were thin and tasty gritty. I gave up an my meal and was asked wasn’t I very hungry! We also waited a lot time after finishing main meal, for someone to clear table, I pushed my plate away from me in case they thought I was still eating, but in the end someone had to go to the bar to order desserts.
The service was very pleasant but slow - we gave up waiting for dessert. The service was also slow on our previous visit so I don’t think we’ll book the venue again.
Very welcoming, lovely staff. Food was lovely, tasty and hot.
No atmosphere, food poor service reasonable. Won’t rush back there
Food was lovely. Hot and tasty. We will come back
The staff were very helpful giving good advice on the menu and how to pick the right portion size and the food was very good
Excellent polite service. Quite busy and did apologise about bringing the drinks when the food arrived. Very pleasant afternoon. Thank you
Very quick service, food great, friendly and helpful staff, overall a great dining experience
Food was ok, staff fine, portions small for example starter stated brie wedges but only 1 wedge.
Friendly staff. and very good food clean and good service
I assume there was a staff shortage. Everything was fine until we finished our main course - then we waited with our dirty plates for half an hour, and no attention at all. about 8.15 someone came and asked us if we wanted desserts - kitchen closes at 8.30. Having felt we were then rushed to make a decision, we did decide not to have anything else. My birthday event a little bit spoilt, and no tip left I'm sorry to say.
It was great to meet and eat before Soph’s Bookclub last night. I love the fact that your Lunch Menu runs until 7pm, so that we can have a light meal, without breaking the bank. The service was great, and the food arrived quickly. Absolutely delicious mackerel wrap, with fries and leaves, I’d definitely have that again! We also had chicken goujon wrap and a ploughman’s. Also delicious and well presented. I think I’m planning to eat here before each Bookclub!
Location was great, quiet and perfect for our family catch up.
Excellent staff, our table ready for us on arrival. Delicious food and a happy atmosphere. Ingredients for a very pleasant Sunday lunch.Thank you.
Excellent roast. Pleasant staff. But the barman poured a sherry into a tumbler! I suppose younger people don't drink sherry. It didn't put us off and we'll come again.
The staff were amazing - Terry I think his name was, he’s a great guy and couldn’t have been more attentive. We will definitely be back x
What a lovely place to go and have Sunday lunch, staff were excellent
Sunday lunch - I chose the roast beef dinner and was offered a choice of pink or well done, chose pink and it arrived pink not a hint of blood and was very , very tender. Veg and potatoes very good although roast potato's just lacked a crunch for me to give full marks.
Always a good experience, the food is excellent and the staff are lovely!
A beautiful venue with very polite and welcoming staff. The food was lovely and the service excellent. A very pleasant atmosphere and we felt valued as customers. I’d definitely recommend the Gupshill Manor to everyone
Drinks were fine, service was very good. Venue is great. With a little more care the food could have been good too. Salads with brown edges, on some dishes no dressing. Little care given to presentation. Herb crusted cod tail, crust soggy, new potatoes a bit underdone, a tiny splash of salsa verde - more would have brought the whole thing alive - green beans over cooked. Everything just a little bit unloved. This is a good place to go for a drink but if you want to be impressed with your food and have that 'this tastes great' moment, this is not the venue for you. Good chefs in the kitchen would make this a destination venue though.
Lovely restaurant and good quality food at reasonable prices. Would recommend.
Set menu is very value at £20 for a 3 course meal prices of the other food items were reasonable. Atmosphere was good not noisy li,e some places but it wasn't full so maybe that had something to do with it. The staff were friendly and polite would go again.
Service wasn’t what we expected at all mains got taken away and wasn’t even asked if we wanted deserts or coffee
Food very dry and overcooked, service slow but staff friendly
Waitress was extremely rude & non interested. Table booked for midday, waited 45 minutes to be seated. Food was frozen chips, cheap sausages. Not asked if everything was ok with our meal or if we wanted more drinks, etc. Would not recommend or ever go back.
Great food, fast service & great value for money. First visit won’t be the last!
The girl who took our order at the bar was surly and reluctant. For the price I expected better presented & fresher food- it was at best mediocre. It’s a shame as I had travelled from Birmingham to meet my friend there. The outdoor space was lovely though, partly due to weather.
