The food here is simply amazing. A small menu but one where you can try a range of well cooked authentic Italian food. We always enjoy coming here. It's great value and the service is exemplary. Gio is an excellent host and I will recommend this place always.
This is our third visit. Quaint, friendly with excellent home cooked food. The tasting menu is excellent, and superb value for money. Gio always friendly and stops by for a chat. I would seriously recommend you give it a try. So close to perfection. We'd score it a 6 if there was facility to keep the tasting dishes hot - as they do cool down quickly. If heated plates are not an option, table top warmers might help.
Fantastic food and atmosphere, can't wait to go again. Loved everything about Gio's especially the informality. Home-made was so delicious. See you when the menu changes xxx
This was our 2nd visit to Gio's. Gio himself is warm, welcoming and friendly. The taster menu on this occasion was utterly delicious and we ate every morsel !! The venue although quirky in decor was cosy and twinkly with lights. The taster menu is £13.50pp for starter main pud and coffee and you bring your own drinks.. Its good to support a local business and is definitely worth a try.glad we did.will be back!!
A unique eating experience, wonderful service and beautiful food! Lovely ambience. An Italian oasis in the middle of Walsall! Get your table booked or miss out!
First visit to Gio's and it wont be the last. The location isn't great but once inside you would not know you are in the middle of a housing estate. The service was great, the food was very good and the restaurant atmosphere is warm, welcoming and you can actually talk without the need to shout. I would like to give a bad review so that it remains unspoilt but I cant lie and its certainly worth a visit.
Amazing little restaurant, Menu is set but very delicious... 9 of us went as a group ages varying from 19 - 40+ and everyone had something thoroughly enjoyed.
This was our time at Gio restaurant We had a lovely meal and very reasonable priced also you can take your out drink Gio is such a lovely welcoming host and took the time to come over and talk to us The food was amazing such great flavours and all fresh and home cooked We have already planned to return and take some friends with us

Amazing food, lovely warm atmosphere, transported to Italy. Fantastic value for money. 3 wonderful courses with coffee for £13.50 !! Rounded off a lovely evening with the owner thanking us for coming....no Gio, thank you !!
Superb food and friendly staff creates a wonderful dining experience at Gio's. The Tasting Menu is excellent value, and provides a variety of dishes to enjoy. Altogether well worth a visit and highly recommended.
Food was excellent - such great value fora lovely totally home made menu. Very cosy. Service very friendly & quick. The only thing was due to a couple of parties it was very noisy. Definitely recommend
Quirky venue. Gio was warm and hospitable. Food was good and tasty.great to be able to bring your own drinks. All in all a nice experience. I'm sure we will go again
From the inside Gio's has the feel of an authentic Italian restaurant, without the wine. It is the sort of restaurant Italians would visit if it were in Italy. No show, no bluster, informal, friendly, excellent food and excellent value.
A hidden gem - good food and friendly service. Not exactly the usual place to find such a restaurant - but worth the trip, quirky but great!
Very tasty tasting menue! Not pretentious but a very relaxed and friendly service. Very good value as well! Busy on the night we went but with a great atmosphere. Unexpectedly based in a community centre which is on a housing estate but well worth searching out, with plenty of parking. The centre gives a start to the cooking stars of the future and they do an excellent job.
Doesn't look much from the outside but don't let that put you off inside decor is nice. food excellent and plenty. Good value. no bar So take your own drinks
Lovely place and friendly staff.. food was lovely and reasonably priced.. even can for 5 pound make your own pasta.. Well worth a visit ..
Visited on 22nd March and had the 3 course taster menu. Everything we ate was lovely and, although I thought I wouldn't be able to eat all of it, we cleared our plates. Gio and his daughter are wonderful hosts and we had a lovely evening.
Great food, really relaxed atmosphere, you really couldn't be made to feel more welcome. Amazing place and I cannot wait to visit again as soon as possible!
Wonderful community restaurant, so glad we found it. Gio rang when he realised we were not local to make sure we knew how to get there, which was a lovely touch. Good atmosphere and busy. Food was delicious and tasting menu was a real treat. Made to feel very welcome. Prompt service.
Everything about this experience was perfect from the host, staff, food and venue, we could not fault it and would highly recommend- we will definitely return very soon!
A wonderful experience. Fantastic price, fantastic food and a fantastic host and fantastic atmosphere, what more can I say?! We will be going back again, definitely!!!!
The food was lovely as always, Gio was arundel greeting everyone and making everyone feel welcome and the atmosphere was great will definitely be back
Food was very tasty and good value. No-ones fault that two of my guests didn't like peas or tomatoes. The place is quirky and friendly, very full and therefore noisy, I was over dressed. It makes a difference when the owner has the time to talk to all of his customers. A good evening.
Excellent authentic food served in an intimate atmosphere. Also great value for money. Dont let the location nor the exterior put you off this please its fantastic
A change from the norm! Enjoyable evening with good food and good friends. Gio was a fine host. Will go again! Like the idea of taking our own drinks Thank you
Fantastic, authentic Italian food in a quirky , unique environment and the charm of Gio and his wonderful daughter. Great value for a superb experience.
Never disappointing. Fantastic food. Fantastic atmosphere. Fantastic customer service 😄 Recommending to everyone. My friends loved it and they want to come soon with their friends too
It was my wife's birthday and we went with her brother and sister-in-law and as many people had said the exterior and location were a little uninspiring. However, do not be put off by this, we were welcomed warmly by the proprietor and the experience from then on was just wonderful. Great atmosphere in unpretentious surroundings meant that you felt really comfortable and the food was delicious. There are 2 set menus which were thoroughly explained by the owner all for £13.50 per head with the added bonus that you bring your own alcoholic drinks. A great evening, with good food at very reasonable cost. You can't beat it and we will definitely be returning particularly as the menu regularly changes.
An amazing time! I dragged along my two teenagers who were a bit dubious when we arrived due to where Gio'so is situated. The food is delicious and plentiful, you are in a relaxed atmosphere with a fabulous host.
The food was excellent and the atmosphere was relaxed and unexpectedly pleasant. To expand, this is a community restaurant which I didn't realise - therefore the setting and layout was not what I had expected. We then realised it was not licenced. Therefore, quick dash to off licence resolved that issue. After that, we had one of the best dining experiences for a long time. It was quite liberating to be given the choice of pizza or a four course menu. Of which, each of the four courses were fab. The main, was a selection of four homecooked dishes including chicken, pasta, lasagne and an aubergine dish. All in all, my first impressions were shot to flames with some quality food and a lovely atmosphere. Thank you Gio's!
Very cosy, food is amazing! Wonderful atmosphere and the chef is the real Italian deal! Anyone who wants a proper evening with amazing food should go there. Menu rotates every 4 weeks I think so that's good as well. Top notch!
The food was good, staff were very polite, good value for money. Only issues was theye seemed to rush you out as fast as possible
Really good food. Amazing atmosphere friendly staff where nothing it too much trouble. We didn't bring our own alcohol but Gio suggested we popped to the shops quickly to get a bottle of wine and he would wait for us ! Highly recommend
We have been here a few times. The food is freshly cooked and delicious. The host is a joy to meet. It's a small menu but very enjoyable.
Excelent food, knowledge of gio, you will come out full, love experience of the share mains, were you try 4 different courses, daughter had fun 18 th
Superb food, outstanding service and an amazing price - a real gem of a restaurant! I would definitely give this a try - you won't be disappointed.
Unusual setting for a fantastic restaurant. Setting is quirky and nice, atmosphere was relaxed and friendly, the service was very good and the food was wonderful. Cannot fault this place, I think it is is my new favourite restaurant. Everything was just so good. Take your own drinks and sample the taster menu - delicious :-)
Lovely fresh food served in nice surroundings by friendly staff. Really good value.I will recommend to friends, can't wait to visit again! Soon I hope!
Excellent place food was amazing and extremely cheap for the food you get and such friendly staff didn't have to wait long st all !
Guy's is quirky, different and above else quality. The food, service, value and ambiance are better than all Italian 'chain' type places. I couldn't fault it.
Great staff. Very friendly. For our first time at the restaurant, Gio was welcoming. Tasty and homey food. There is a 2 choices menu, cheap price and great food!
Excellent, great food, great atmosphere, really welcoming and no rush, definitely on the return list, different menu style and bring your own booze works for us , oh! and great value too😋
Delicious food, amazing service, quirky dining setting. We loved it. Thank you Gio, we will definitely be back :) We have already wen recommending it to friends :)
Great food and service. Had a great note. Good friendly atmosphere. Fab will definitely come here again. Enjoyed great birthday celebration with my family and friends.
The welcome could not have been more friendly. The atmosphere was excellent and the food was amazing for the price charged - no, make that just amazing. However, the portions were too large. Consequently, we would have preferred a much longer break between courses.
Food was good quality and plenty of it £13.50 !! Per person Exceptional value for the quality of the food Shall be returning reall soon
Food was great and Gio was a lovely man who made our first experience of eating here very pleasant Will definitely return. Thank u Gio and staff
