George's Dining Room and Bar

Appreciate its Mother’s Day but service was very very slow. Ordered pot of tea before the food came didn’t receive it until after the breakfast had been eaten. No apology from managers just “ we’re busy and there’s a wait”. Neither managers nor waitresses attentive, never asked how the food was or anything. Not the first time we’ve been and management have been quite rude / 0 level of experience in true customer service. Food was cold, we won’t be returning

The restaurant was cold. The service was poor, unenthusiastic, lacked care and terribly slow. The butternut squash salad wasn’t pleasant.

The food was delicious. However the service was very lax. We had to wait a long time to have our order taken. The food too a long time to arrive. Also we had to chase up drinks we had ordered. The restaurant very busy at that time

Fantastic lunchtime visit to George’s. Great atmosphere, friendly service, superb quality and value for money.

Food was great. A little pricey though for the set menu (valentine's) service was slow and unattentive which was a shame. Might return to try normal menu soon.

Food was nice. Waitress not that attentive, didn't get asked if everything was OK with our food. Asked for the bill, waited about 20 mins and went up to the front to ask for it again.

Wasn’t seated straight away asked to go for a drink on the bar area , really enjoyed the food think it was a new winter menu , stayed for a. Few drinks afterwards as there was a DJ on , overall a very enjoyable evening

We waited a while to order and had to attract attention from waiting staff. We noticed that other guests known to staff were attended to immediately The roast was ok, but the carrot and parsnip were very undercooked The staff were young and those who served us were very friendly and polite

Good quality, tasty breakfast. A good selection of dishes are on the breakfast menu. The team who were working were welcoming and friendly.

Food was pretty good. Not great. Prawns were nice to start but a sauce was needed on the prawns and toast. Steak and ale pie for main was dry, gravy did help and was nice with chips but the pie was too dry to start with along. Sticky toffee pudding and ice cream was really nice for desert.

Great food, welcoming staff. Lovely restaurant. Highly recommend. Would love bit more choice for vegetarians but that wouldn’t stop me returning.

We were seated in the private dining room, which was perfect for our family catch up! The food was fabulous, the waitress was very attentive and friendly. We could order of the festive menu or the normal evening menu which was a bonus! X

Amazing food. Good value. Friendly staff. Big room bit noisy so moved to quiter area. It was a bit cold there after a while. Would definitely return!

It was lovely the atmosphere was friendly and relaxed , the service was good, I ordered off the Christmas menu which had a good variety of choice .

All was really good. We had a lovely lunch and under no pressure to leave.

We love George’s. We went for lunch but the menu was not specific for the fish. My husband is severely allergic to bivalves- mussels, oysters, clans etc. He settled for the beef because he had no confidence about cross infection. It will not stop us going again. Staff were very apologetic and anxious that the menu needed to be changed to be more specific. We were given a generous deduction on the bill. Thank you. We will go again .

Had the snacks offer. Perfect for a light lunch and everything very fresh. Delicious bread

Service was a little slow, wait a long time for drinks and food, no salt in the shaker, I did try to get 3 different staff members attention to see if they had another but no joy so I gave up, roast potatoes were a bit hard but I did enjoy our meal

We had a Sunday dinner and there were 5 of us we had to wait quite a while for it to come but we assumed that because it was quite busy. The dinner was quite nice but the roast potatoes were horrible they were hard on the outside and dry on the inside. I have usually had nice food from Georges most of the time so I was quite disappointed by the dinner especially the potatoes. The staff were really pleasant and the ambience was lovey.

First time at George's. We went for breakfast and it was lovely. The food was delicious, the staff were very attentive, a great experience.

Great restaurant with excellent food and a great wine list ! Service was OK but staff do not engage, they just perform tasks. Had to keep asking for things, eg - Water, cutlery, dessert menus. Saw one waitress placing glasses on tables with her fingers inside the glass which is so unhygienic! Apart from that a very nice lunch. Would return.
