George's Dining Room and Bar

Poor service. No bottled beers. Long wait before table was cleared after starter. Long wait for 2nd round of drinks. No mashed potatoes, mashed carrots were cold, rest of meal bearly warmDessert was apple crumble and vanilla ice cream, arrived with chocolate ice cream, no explanation. I still left a £10 tip. Very disappointed.

A very limited menu. There was nothing on the menu that we really liked. We ordered burgers which is not really what we would have ordered in a restaurant and it was tasteless. We eat out quite a lot but wont be returning to Georges. .

The food was good as was the atmosphere and very attentive staff.

We all had a lovely meal. The steaks were cooked to perfection. Small menu choice and a couple of things off but we enjoyed what we had. Service was very attentive and polite. Only grumble was when trying to ring a few days before to change the time slightly I got no reply. Seems you were closed for a few days but mo one got back to me until the morning g if our meal.

It was freezing cold, need some heating in there. Had to get my coat from the car.

Fantastic food, friendly but inattentive staff; had to get their attention to order food and for bill - even though it wasn't too busy.

We did visit early evening 5.30pm so the place was empty. No drama , staff very attentive and knowledgeable. Food was excellent, served in very good time . Overall excellent, our timing needs improvement but we were going on to a show after dining, maybe we should have dined after the show but would have probably been a different result!!

George's continues to nlbe my favourite restauraunt. It really is amazing quality snd atmosphere. After dining out a lot over the festive period, it is still, by far the best place for me. Thankyou and keep being amazing!

Brilliant service, we had a New Year’s Day breakfast as a family of 6 gorgeous food and value for money!

Great atmosphere but it needed more staff, those there were fantastic but they were run ragged and it needed more to cope with the number of covers tonight.

Good local restaurant my family including grandsons enjoyed a well cooked brunch at a reasonable price. Well recommended!

Very slow to take our order, very uninterested in us generally. Starters wr nice . I had calfs liver for main that was over cooked and all the sinu was left on . My desert was nice but my friends parfait was like rubber and tasteless, they did remove this from the bill when we brought this to their attention . Over all very underwhelming experience.

We all throughly enjoyed our experience at George’s. The food and service were fantastic.

Service was really slow, we had to find someone to take our order and the food took 45 minutes to come.

Food and service was excellent. The evening was lacking in atmosphere as there weren’t many diners in , which is no fault of the restaurant. We asked if they could turn up the volume a bit on the sound system as it was very quiet, but they didn’t. We love this restaurant and we’ve been every year for several years at this time for our family get together and it has never been this quiet.

Service was poor. Not welcomed upon arrival, many wines not available and the staff were surly. The food was lovely.

The booking system was easy to use and at the restaurant the service was courteous and efficient and the food excellent. What more could you ask?

Great Festive menu and good service. The only thing the management need to sort out is the disabled toilet. it needs totally refurbishing!!!

Whilst I appreciate the Sunday menu was on, the restaurant were not flexible in the slightest in providing us olives or bread for a starter, since these didn’t form part of the menu. Additionally when we ordered steaks, neither of them were cooked as requested. Food was average for the price, won’t be visiting again.

A bit more attention to detail needed, bringing serving spoons with side dishes and teaspoons with condiments. And replacing the bulbs that don’t work in the light fittings above the table and in the loo. Plus had to dry hands on loo paper in the accessible toilet. The accessible exit was a fire exit which required a customer to get out of his seat and move his chair to access! Should be a permanently clear space for safety reasons. But food was very good and service was better than previous experiences.

The food was delicious and arrived nice and hot. The service was excellent, friendly young staff.Because there weren’t many diners it was a quiet atmosphere and we felt unrushed and relaxed.

Love the restaurant but like everywhere else, the prices have gone up far too much. Would still be happy to go again as the food and service ARE amazing.

Not been for quite some time and this visit was quite disappointing by comparison.

Standards of service have definitely slipped since George's first opened. A waitress used to take your coat and hang it up for you. Not any more. I had to do it myself. The drinks order, which should have been served before the first course, never appeared and I had to ask where it was. Thankfully the food is still great, (although I miss their creamed potato) but good service contributes to the overall level of satisfaction, so without it, one feels less than satisfied.

'Live' Music awful and too loud for dining. The Manager recommends that you don't go there for a meal on Fridays if you want to be able to talk with your guests as it's how it is on Fridays after 7pm
