Booked a table so we could watch the champions league final. Table wasn’t reserved and the DJ came on to ruin the football.

1hr 30mins for food to arrive, no vegetables available in the children's menu, no coca-cola & no tea bags for a cup of tea. Food was ok but won’t be rushing to visit again.

Food was very good, we had the cod chips and the roast beef sandwiches plus a few drinks! Didn’t try the desserts but hope to try next time when we have more time

We came here after reserving a table for 4 persons, But to our dismay we were told they had run out of fish, pies, lamb and ribs, the only available items where burgers, out of the 5 disserts on the menu they only had one available fudge cake, they could of told us of the shortage of choice before we ordered our drinks, I will never come back here.

I did not purchase food and I booked a table to watch the match. The atmosphere was good enough, i do find the TV's need updating or screens adjusting as all TV's seemed blurry. I do find the prices at the high end for a local pub, especially in terms of the Guiness. It was not the best tasting and overpriced. Find it weird that you shoot an Erdinger advert at the pub but don't have it on draft. Either the seating or TV's need relocating. It is not the best pub to watch the match in even though it's my preferred local as the staff are nice and the service is good. You have lights on above TV's making it reflective and blurry, the TV we were watching had a plant hanging down from it. You then also had two large TV's above seating were if you are sitting there you would do well to not have a sore neck or back from trying to look at them. Boss pub, boss staff, just needs prices looking at and how patrons watch the match definitely needs looking into. Apologies for the rant, been going the Dovey for years, but it just needs some little tweeks in my opinion, which other bars nearby seem to have realised.

Would be nice to have a host greeting you on entrance, we walked in and looked around then had to queue at bar, 5 adults, a child and 2 dogs just to find out where our reserved table was! After this staff were lovely though and very friendly and attentive. Food was reasonable, we had roast dinners. I’ve had better but also had worse! Very dog friendly

Visited the area and spend a great evening at Dovetail Towers. Food was good, well priced with generous portion sizes. Atmosphere was lively without being too noisey. Will come again next time I'm in the area.

The roast was OK but we had to wait over 40 minutes because a chef had not turned up. After the Liverpool parade the pub was busy and there was a long queue at the bar. More staff needed although the staff on duty were good.

Booked a table for Mother’s Day for me,my wife and 2 boys s - aged 5 & 3. When we arrived we were taken to our table in the ‘restaurant ‘area to be free by a big TV with the football on with the volume like a nightclub!! There was no way you could have a conversation and when I spoke to the staff, I was greeted with a hapless response - awful

We really like coming here. We always find a friendly atmosphere, but the food was a bit disappointing this time. Fish and chips were very greasy and batter not nice to eat at all. Neither myself or my daughter enjoyed it. Kids pizza also very average. Everyone else in the group enjoyed their breakfast meals.

Booked online and emailed to ask what time they served until. They responded instantly and told us we would be pushed for time so gave us the menu to pre order food so that we wouldn't be disappointed. When we arrived our table was waiting and food was on order. Had a fantastic evening and even participated in the quiz winning a bottle of wine. Highly recommend thank you.

Turned up and they didn’t have any of the white wine on the menu. We ordered a bottle of blush whilst we decided on our food. We then returned to order another bottle along with our meals- they had ran out of that wine as well, along with the main course 3 of us were planning to order. We left and ate elsewhere- very disappointed

Really good to find a doggy-friendly place to eat/drink, they even provided a bowl of water for our dog. Food was tasty and good value, staff very friendly. My only small criticism is the table and utensils could have been cleaner but otherwise a very positive experience, I will be back.

My mum had the Beef burger and it was SO tasty (i stole a bite) And I had the scouse pie with chips :) Food was gorgeous, I couldn't manage a dessert (Gutted) Determined to try the sticky toffee pud on our next visit though! Can't fault the place. We were pleasantly surprised and horrified that we hadn't visited this gem sooner. (moved to the area a year ago). Lovely pub grub! Lovely staff!
