Absolutely stunning food, staff and decor. The staff couldn’t do enough for me being gluten free. Highly recommended. Travelled from Plymouth to experience as heard such great things about it.
Good food served by friendly staff - excellent visit all round
Very nice food and a lovely old pub but the service was terrible... we arrived early and were seated at our table for a drink... After waiting about 15 minutes my husband went to the bar to get our drinks. We were not given any menus and eventually my husband went to help himself to the menu and went back to the bar for more drinks... we did wonder if it wad table service! the two tables next to us were empty when we arrived but when they were seated they got service before us. Eventualy one of the staff took our order but in a very functional way and it seemed strange that the 'Mananger' was wearig a suit and the serving staff looked very scruffy. Its a shame as the food when it arrived was lovley. There are loads of resturants in this area and too much choice to go back to this one... We are locals as we live in Shad Thames and perhaps this is a tourist place and it doesnt need regular diners?
Excellent lunch with friends who were very impressed - thank you
Excellent menu and presentation! Great atmosphere and attentive staff. Always a special experience.
Food delicious and the waitress was wonderful. I was catching up with a friend I hadn’t seen for over 20 years and didn’t want to be rushed. The waitress totally got this and slowed everything down so we could have a leisurely 3 hour lunch at a quiet table. She even went home before we did. (Hope she got the tip I left for her ;) ) Perfect afternoon!
Hidden Gem. Quaint, Different, Nice service and good food. A sherry to start the ball rolling is a great idea, then take your time and have a natter with who ever comes in
I love that place, looks like a traditional gentlemen's club, but with surprisingly reasonable prices. Very friendly staff. Food is good, but more of a pub menu, nothing to write home about. So I'd rather go there for drinks than a meal. But the ambience is unbelievable, definitely worth a visit.
The Boot & Flogger is one of its kind, and a survival from past times. The decor, the ambience, the service and its food and drink offering are accurately targeted at its clientele. It is also more than conveniently situated with world-class Borough Market on its doorstep, and other hostelries to repair to subsequently. I was there for my own business's Christmas Lunch, I had been there before, and as previously it exceeded expectations. Well done that Boot & Flogger!
Good atmosphere, very good food, friendly and helpful service. Would recommend a visit and we will be going again. Our friends have been several times and they will go again too.
Bit disappointing - food was ok but not great value and with menu items not being available. Service started well with front of house staff but not so good once we were eating. Better options locally for price, service and ambience
Great food, great wine, great service, great location, great decor what more can I say? Just hidden away from the main hustle and bustle of Borough Market. Well worth a visit!
This was my first time here and what a lovely place it was. Tucked down a side street it has a lovely old fashioned feeling. The staff were fantastic and the food was glorious! I'd recommend this pub 100% and look forward to going again!
Great food, attentive service .. delightful. Really enjoyed chicken n’dja. Courtyard was full so we ate inside and they had a fan going which kept us cool. We will be back.
Excellent food and service. Still has the olde world charm of forty years ago when I first went there. very nice and central restaurant. Brilliant
We felt the food was a bit expensive for the portion sizes. The main of scallops only came with 3 scallops, and the Welsh rarebit dessert was just a small slice of cheese on toast essentially. Also when a payment issue arose the waiter was dismissive, he had misheard a payment amount and we tried to joke about the mistake but he was intent on blaming the diner for this easily solved issue, leaving the evening on an awkward note. This place had been highly recommended to me and unfortunately did not live up to what we expected, still a pleasant enough meal.
Enjoyed the food, wine, and ambience. A great place to meet friends on trips to London . We like the intimate Gentleman's Club environment . Looking forwa\rd to our next visit !
Very good food and service in a really interesting venue. We were made very welcome and the choices were interesting. Presentation was very good as well.
A lovely venue for a catch up with friends. Excellent wine choice, fantastic cheeses and good other food. Service was a slow at the end of the evening but this didn't detract much for the evening.
Excellent food ... and very good value for central London. A place to note for future nights out. I really liked the atmosphere and the history around this old wine bar / vintners
This is a great place for a relaxing drink or meal and it is easy to get to from London Bridge. I always feel welcome there and the staff are attentive but not too much so. There is a good choice of wines, as you would expect.
Great atmosphere and very friendly helpful staff. Welcomed in from a torrential downpour with a warming smile and greeting.Excellent menu and selection arrived quickly and was hot. Will be returning.
Excellent food, lovely staff. Would highly recommended mend a visit. Really quirky setting and typical English pub. Price was very reasonable and the quality was high.
This is a gem of a new find. We live in the area and have just discovered the joy of the Boot and Flogger. Is a regular go to now for a great ambience, super good and wine, and wonderful service. A must visit.
Friendly service. Ambiance very suitable for meeting and chatting. Good choice of food well cooked and presented, and excellent wine list. Will certainly return in more peaceful times.
Charming, if slightly Dickensian, surroundings; decent food and - as always - a clever choice of good-value wines. Worth a detour to Red Cross Way.
Fantastic atmosphere, very unique setting and delicious food. Great choice of wine and informed recommendations by staff. Very cosy to spend an afternoon or dinner
More of a restaurant than a pub, the Boot and Flogger has an antiquated interior and rather formal atmosphere, bringing to mind a Victorian dining room. The food and service were excellent and the pub was perfect for the meeting of a book club, as we could hear ourselves speak without being drowned out by music or people! Recommended as a good place to meet in London Bridge.
Friendly and reliable and not too noisy. The Boot and Flogger is close to London Bridge but in a side road and it is easy to walk past it and not notice - which may be a good thing because it is not too busy. But it is advisable to book.
I met with friends and we had a lot to catchup on, the staff were excellent, the food delicious, overall an excellent venue, will definitely visit again, highly recommended.
Really enjoyed our lunch at the Boot & Flogger. Great service, lovely wine , and the atmosphere of a fine gentlemen's club. A varied menu to cater for all tastes ! Hidden away but a real find not that far from Borough Market.
