We enjoyed our visit very much; first night out without the children for about two years! The waiter was very welcoming and comped our glasses of champagne at the beginning of the meal. It was a special meal, well-paced, delicious and memorable. Thank you!
The food was delicious. The service was excellent. Great evening.
One of my favourite restaurants! Lovely food and atmosphere and great wine!
Great that Cote has reopened as a restaurant with same excellent food and service
Very happy to be back at Cote Winchester sharing lunch with my daughter. We’ve missed you! As always, excellent, friendly service .
We enjoy this restaurant and the staff are good. Food was as expected
The meal was delicious and the staff were lovely! The attention to cleaning and sanitising was exemplary, but not overbearing. It felt very safe and relaxed - safe to say we had a really enjoyable meal! Highly recommended.
It was lovely to be able to dine with you again. Great effort by all.
We were delighted to see that Cote had re-opened. It has always been our favourite eatery in Winchester. The faces were different but as always the service was superb, the staff as friendly and welcoming as ever and of course the food beatifully prepared and presented. Tables had been re-arranged to comply with social distancing and the staff (all wearing face coverings) had clearly been well-trained in the anti-covid requirements. As always, nothing was too much trouble and everything was delivered with a smile. A perfect evening in every respect.
Well done Cote -an excellent reentry into our different world.
First night opening post closure. Regular visitor Arrival smooth. Staff welcoming and friendly. Starters excellent Main (minute steak) a little cool, over cooked and slow (not rapid) Desert - Delicious as ever Thanks to the staff and Chancellor also!
The staff were very welcoming and took all necessary precautions given the current climate. We had a lovely time, and the food was perfect. We'll certainly be back!
Amazing first experience at Cote Brasserie. The food was incredible, the staff were friendly and the service was brilliant! Tables well spaced out but felt like a 'normal' dining experience! £20 off the bill for 'Eat Out to Help Out' made it even better!!!
Lovely meal, great atmosphere. Lovely meal for our friends 60th.
We have eaten at Cote in several cities and have always had a good experience. Today we were going to the theatre in Winchester and so I booked table for 2 fro 6pm. Greeted by friendly staff. Unfortunately my partner's risotto arrived with large lumps of congealed uncooked rice - this was pointed out to our friendly waiter who took one look at it and agreed it was not good. He promptly took it away and offered to have another dish or choose something else from the menu. My partner is a vegetarian - ordering aborter risotto would mean a wait and that I would have to eat my meal on my own. Ditto ordering something else. And besides we did not have much time to wait as the show at the theatre was due to start at 7.30pm. So we declined the offer and continued with my chicken meal whilst my partner made do with a small side salad that we had ordered to share. We were not charged for the second meal but no more apology was offered. A most disappointing evening - just got home from theatre, absoultely starving and have had a cheeseburger on toast. My meal of the chicken was tasty but very small and hardly any chicken in it. The staff were, as usual, in other branches, very friendly but such a shame to be let down by the food. Amazed that the chef or the one who served the food onto a plate did not notice - or had they?
Fab food, fab service, fab venue, what more needs saying
After a warm and friendly greeting and being shown to our table on a raised level by a window, we were each presented with a glass of French 75 a refreshing mix of gin, sparkling wine and zesty lemon with a hint of sugar(complimentary because we were choosing from the À La Carte menu)Very pleasant too. I started with Homemade Crab Bisque served with baked Gruyère gougères(EXCELLENT) and Chris had Pissaladière Reblochon - traditional warm flatbread from Nice with caramelised onions Reblochon cheese and thyme which she liked very much. We both chose Côte de Veau Grilled - rose veal t-bone steak with frites, salade verte and a warm tarragon butter and shared a Ratatouille- sautéed aubergine, courgette and red peppers in Provençale sauce with baby spinach and extra virgin olive oil. The meat was outstanding in flavour and texture, and cooked medium rare as requested, although we probably wouldn’t go for the ratatouille again. I also enjoyed a glass of house red(Lagarde Rouge)with my meal. Service was friendly and efficient, Dan was helpful, and the background music was not intrusive. A thoroughly enjoyable Saturday lunch.
6 of us met up for a family lunch and all were very pleased with the quality and service. The staff were amazing. My wife & I use Côte a lot. The other 4 were 1st timers. They will definitely use Côte again. May or may not be Winchester but certainly recommend it. Just brilliant.
Beware the "Meal deals". We were charged for something different. waiting staff tried to help and a nice gang.
I enjoy Cote every time I go. The food is super tasty, the service is always fab and the prices are reasonable. Definitely an easy choice to make
Lovely staff, food fab, wine delightful. We left full and happy. The only problem I have is choosing from the menu...great lunchtime ambience. The french onion soup is my absolute favourite starter.
Very enjoyable experience. Good service ,Really tasty, well presented, food. Quiet venue so we could hear each other. I think the above adequately sets out what I want to say.
The food was good. We ordered olives and bread to start and we had no side plates to put our bread on and they took my knife away so had to share with my friend which was fine but should have been better than that! Mains came quickly and they were good. The service was ok but had to keep grabbing someone's attention when we needed something.
I absolutely love this place, everything is fab here. The service was excellent from start to finish and the food was all perfect. All in all we all had a great evening. This place is up there with the best in Winchester.
Enjoyed our breakfasts, good service. My husband has to use the disabled toilet and he told me this was below the normal standard. Apparently the lock has been broken for some time and the toilet seat wobbles - not ideal for the less able.
The steak was amazing, one of the best I’ve had, and the service was excellent. However even with a free cocktail it was pretty expensive. All in all, recommended though.
Another great dinner at Cote Winchester both in terms of food quality and service. This is the best of many Cote branches and we have visited many over the years.
Couldn't have been better. Extremely friendly and helpful staff. Excellent selection of food. Lovely wine and free birthday kir royal. What s not to like!
We had the prestige set menu which offered a good selection and the food was pleasing. The service was faultless. My only negative was that I was told their set menu also includes a free cocktail if pre booked, which I had, but I didn't receive an email that I apparently needed. And just a note, the whole restaurant was very cold.
Brilliant the food was wonderful and the service fantastic. The Hungarian lads as well as the part time Uni students are great. We often come and know them well.
It’s an ok place with cheerful staff but the food was just ok and it was hard to see why a steak frites with a small portion of underdone chips and not even a wisp of salad justified an extra two pounds on the bill. The salt cod croquettes as a starter were hot and crisp but mostly potato. Hard to taste the fish. Very small amount of water supplied as well. However we had a quiet corner and nobody hurried us so we were able to catch up in comfort, which was the object of the outing.
Nice food (although could have been warmer). Restaurant was very cold - we were half a degree from having to wear our coats. Didn’t like the automatic addition of 12.5% service charge. Put me right off and consequently didn’t leave a tip at all on principle. Staff were friendly and helpful. I would recommend the restaurant with caveats
Superb as always Top quality Top food Top service Top table
Great food - but I hope they bring back the veal escalope!! Lovely chocolate mousse - great service we will go back regularly
We like Cote restaurants & Winchester has a really nice one. There were a couple of hiccups last night but the friendly efficient staff put it right. Had breakfast there yesterday also again very pleasant. Will definitely be back when we are this way again
Really nice food and good service wilth polite staff. On criticism would be that the portion sizes were fairly small meaning I was still slightly hungry after we had left.
How good to have such an excellent restaurant so close to home !
Disastrous. Despite making a booking we were told that main courses would be at least 50 minutes when we ordered. As it turned out they had not appeared after 70 minutes so we left. Food was nowhere to be seen. Apologies offered by a manager but we weren’t going to be told of the extra delay if we hadn’t taken action. Don’t think we will be going back. The restaurant was packed and so noisy that it was hard to hear the waiter. There needs to be a rethink of how many tables you have.
Absolutely fantastic food and great service as always..100% safe, great food for Coeliacs and gluten free customers. Superb affordable menu, with great choice of food
Food lovely good early menu great price. Nice place. Upstairs is nicer but ok Downstairs. Some staff better than others. Water jugs a nice touch just a bit bigger
Attentive staff , good quality food a most enjoyable lunch ,always good value for money This was lunch for my wife birthday with my father in law
Ambience really lovely albeit busy so can be noisy. Food and service excellent. Would recommend this restaurant. The menu is extensive so plenty of choice to meet all tastes.
Really great service from Joshua! Overall had a lovely evening with fab food and drinks. Would highly recommend the duck breast it was so delicious! Thank you :)
We went to the restaurant for my duster’s Birthday so it was s treat. Our chips were cold, when they arrived, the chocolate desert had not been heated up and the lights kept flickering on and off like a strobe light for the entire meal. The manager was good and we were offered free desert.
Delicious food, great service from friendly waiters. We are never disappointed.
A warm, friendly welcome and service from everyone from start to finish
Perfect ! Thank you , delicious food, perfectly cooked steak and excellent service
Good service great food ,our waiter was very attentive .The food game quickly with a decent break between starters and main .Enjoyed the Negroni's
