Lunched for two, food was good as was service, pleasant experience

A lovely lunch today, and the restaurant was buzzing on a weekday. Excellent staff, as usual.

Great good and a friendly welcome when we arrived. Good service throughout.

Waiter was pleasant but a bit dreamy, had to ask for the bill 3 times although the restaurant wasn’t busy.

Lovely meal and delightful staff. The only improvement might have been to serve something green with the coq au vin.

Unfortunately we had to wait 1hr 15 mins for our main meal and the manager ignored us despite my reminding him that we had not received our meal. It was not busy as we ate at 5.30pm but there was a shift change and he left it to the new waitress to apologise to us. They did remove our drinks (and the undercooked beans) from the bill but this is not the service that we expect from the Cote chain. The manager needs a course in customer relations!

Very good Price Fixe at the moment. the mushrooms on toast were particularly delicious, and the egg perfectly poached. Excellent service.

The staff were all very efficient and friendly and the food was very good.

Too noisy. It's not that the other guests are too noisy but there is nothing to 'soak up' the noise such as carpeting table cloths, etc. Could do with an spruce up - maybe take a leaf out of Brasserie Blanc's refit. It is much more comfortable there!

Celebrating our Wedding Anniversary we were well look after by welcoming happy staff and served with food of a high standard . Our starters , Calamari and Smoked Salmon were both very well presented and tasty, and the steaks that followed cooked pink as ordered. All in all we had a most enjoyable celebratory evening -many thanks to all at Cote Winchester.

Sat in upper ground area of restaurant - couldn't here a thing. Yes close to disabled toilet but that was the only advantage. Didn't get my free prosecco.

Lovely atmosphere, service was brilliant, even though they got my order wrong, they quickly put it right (and didn't charge).

Food was consistently good the atmosphere was nice and the service was quick and prompt celebrating a friends birthday everybody left with good comments and a happy smile on their face.

Seated in centre of restaurant which was noisey and busy. Service was adequet, but not great. Food was good.

Good gluten-free menu - keeps us coming back and seeking out other Cotes whenever we are travelling.

An excellent lunch served promptly in a very pleasant and professional manner. Thoroughly recommend this restaurant, its food and wine.

I would like Hear a bit of music. There was music on the first floor though when I went to the toilet!

I think Cote sum up why high street chains are suffering, what would have been acceptable 10 years ago is no longer an acceptable standard. The Bill was £122 , and although there was nothing wrong with our meal it wasn't great. You can get a meal in a michelan stared restaurant for that cost these days so its about value, so although the meal was 'fine' it wasn't as good as most people could make at home these day ,certainly wasn't as fresh as what you would make at home, so it was poor value for money I had crab followed by fillet steak and a side of creamed spinach. The crab reminded me of tuna mayo on toast, you couldn't taste the crab at all. The fillet was cooked rare as i asked, but it was very chewy and tough to cut even with a steak knife suggesting it was old or had been frozen, fillet should melt in the mouth. The spinach was just odd, best way to describe it.. My wife had mushrooms on brioche, it tasted oddly of canned mushroom soup, again not bad but not great. She then had the sea bass, this was okay nothing to complain about but certainly nothing to shout about. In summary, cote in my opinion need to take a more modern approach using fresh ingredients cooked well and to order, rather than what feels like pre prepared shipped in goods . It wasn't busy at cote winchester last night, walking through the town most other places were full, i think that says it all. Disappointing evening, definitely a waste of money. Side note, service was fabulous, making it even more disappointing the food wasn't, you should take advantage of that great team by serving great food Thanks Ben

We had a fantastic dinner at Cote Winchester. A lovely table upstairs, great service, loved the food - the boeuf bourguignon in particular was sublime! We'll be back at the earliest opportunity!

The team in Winchester are fantastic. This is our second trip in a month and we have had a great time given all the extra issues they are having to work with at the moment. The food as always does not disappoint but the staff do make this restaurant. I hope it is not too long until we are able to go back again.

Tables well spaced so and we ad to give contact details when entering so it felt Covid "safe". Food good if not exciting. If this is trying to be a French bistro, bread..plain french bread should be provided for free..
