Côte Winchester

Quite a bit on the menu was not available but we staff were fantastic

We were greeted at the door, hand gel was available throughout. Staff were friendly and attentive, couldn’t have asked for more. The food was great too. Loved it and so glad to be able to dine out again 😊

Although we arrived early for our meal, we only had a very small wait for our table. Staff were lovely. Very kind and attentive.

First time at this restaurant, do not think we will be going back. I had checked that we wouldn’t be seated up stairs as one of our party is disabled with walking difficulties. We had not appreciated how many stairs on the the ground floor to reach our table.

Sadly, not a great experience and I do appreciate that things aren’t ‘normal’ however we were initially sat next to the bar and our heads were directly next to were they put utensils/ plates so we asked to move once we saw someone leave, no problem. It did take a fair time to serve us and in fact the people who arrived and sat in our first sit were serve and delivered food before us again this was not a huge issue. We ordered olives which were served with our starter, my husbands calamari was chewy and he couldn’t eat it, the walnuts on my salad were burnt and bitter. The waiter kindly sorter this out and took the calamari off our bill. Sadly though my salmon for main course was slushy. I feel the food was sub standard and I know they did do 450, and the staff are lovely but we are saddened that our fav place let us down.

Really relaxed atmosphere. Staff are extremely efficient , welcoming and polite. Food was excellent. The menu gives enough choice without being too varied, , so that quality is compromised. The best Creme Caramel we have ever tasted.

Good food. Nice atmosphere. Service on the slow side. Good value.

Really nice lunch out. It was a bit noisy but it was extremely busy. The food was amazing the only real let down was the table hadn’t been properly cleaned so I ended up with a stain on my shirt when I lent against it ( I know it is a small thing but extremely annoying)

Lovely food at a great price. Staff are always excellent- nothing too much trouble even though they were busy. Good to see staff in masks. They weren’t all wearing them in Rick Stein’s last week.

We had friendly service and good presentation of courses but it was rushed. We were very disappointed with the choice and quality of produce. Cote had quite a few items not available or no longer off the menu such as Breton stew, and there was no Seabream. The calamari was greasy and the fresh Tuna had no taste at all; was it frozen?. One Breton chicken was Undercooked and the other one was dry. Sauce ordered was incorrect and did t arrive until half way through the main course. Cote is one of our go to restaurants. I’m not sure we will return for some time,

Staff were very friendly and attentive Enjoyed the steak but my wife didn’t eat her main course the burger she found was tasty at all was bland Apart from that enjoyable evening

As a pre Covid regular it was a delight to have my first post easing of lockdown lunch. The staff remember me (and my wine preference plus that I like ice on the side) 😁🥂👍 The ambiance, food and staff are, to my mind, the best in Winchester and I’m made to feel like a valued and special customer.

Great dining room and service. Starter of squid was excellent. Frites very good, but the rib eye steak accompanying them was less so. Well cooked, but very ordinary beef. Bearnaise sauce horrible.

Friendly, polite and professional staff who were very smart which I appreciated. It was busy when we visited but our food came out promptly. The food was very good the steaks were a tad over seasoned but were well cooked well. Although the restaurant was full we weren’t rushed and the staff were attentive. I think the music could be tweaked a bit something like piano bar tunes could create the perfect atmosphere.

So nice to be back. Excellent food and service as always.

That was the worst meal I have ever experienced at Côte. My steak frites was like a piece of leather the first time and when replaced was the same. Too thick and undercooked. Will seriously think about returning.

My daughter and I had a lovely lunch, we thoroughly enjoyed the food- the crab mayonnaise was delicious. Unfortunately there was a mistake with my main course- the wrong meal was delivered to the table and I had to wait while my daughter ate her main but the staff were very apologetic and when the main finally arrived it was excellent. We both enjoyed our desserts and as an extra apology the waiter removed the cost of my dessert from the final bill, considering we were dining during the Eat Out To Help Out promotion was very generous of him!

Excellent meal and good service on a very busy lunchtime .

Second visit within 2 weeks & once again we were not disappointed, good food , friendly service , & we were not rushed ,will definitely be back soon.

I have been a big fan of Cote for many years.....but the Winchester branch just never quite lives up to others....first the atmosphere in the big room is sadly lacking I think it is poorly set out and lacks ambiance. The food last night was no where near what you expect from Cote.....I had the grilled chicken and if that had been my first experience of Cote is would have been my last visit. I have it many times and it is delicious but this was sadly lacking. Service poor...

First time eating at Cote Winchester. Food and particularly the Service were both excellent.

Very cheerful girls' lunch - same great atmosphere, same great food, Cote is 'doing Covid' thoughtfully but not at all intrusively. And brilliant value with the £10 discount.

Côte has always been a favourite of ours and winchester was beautiful this evening. The staff were effortlessly happy, the food was delicious as always and the ambience was peaceful. This was just what we needed. Thank you 😊

First time I’ve been to Côte. Great service. Loved the food.

First visit and very pleased it's the location the staff and most importantly the food. Well done all round. Only downside being robbed by the Council in The Brooks Centre. £15 for 4 hours parking in a wall of death car park must be throttling trade in Winchester.

As good as ever and a welcome treat at the end of lockdown.
