Côte Winchester

Nice ambience, food was pretty good and certainly decent value for money. It was clearly booked up in advance so if you want a space on a Fri evening you'd best book in advance. Booking was v easy.

Service, ambience, quality and value for money - outstanding! The best Cote I have been to of all the many I have visited over the past years.

Very good, efficient and good value for money. The staff were very good and gave us a nice table in the window, well spaced and quiet.

Excellent service, excellent food and the staff went out of their way to accommodate our requests. Cote Restaurants are consistently good and the staff helpful and friendly.

The food is always excellent and well priced. The service is first class but the acoustics are poor so it is often too noisy to enjoy a conversation at the table.

We were put on a lovely table on the upper section of the restaurant. Our waiter was very attentive. We all thought that the food was excellent and we had a lovely meal.

Booked the table on line, needed to add an extra person so telephone and left a message on the answerphone. The message advised I would be contacted. The only reason I gave it a five was because I had not been contacted and for piece of mind I telephone to check the table size was increased and it had. This is not the first time I have enjoyed a meal here, the staff are very accommodating and the food and service was great !

Another excellent meal at Cotes. The menu was interesting the food well presented and the service most attentive. We have recommended this venue to our friends.

We eat here every few weeks and the ambiance is lovely, food choices good, tasty with friendly staff. Wine choice varied and consistent. Will come back.

Our service was fine but perhaps a little bit slow in parts but Cote Winchester was very busy with several parties of 5 or over.

The service was good, some of the dishes were tepid and the duck was tough and was returned. I was given a replacement, different choice.

Third time we have been and still excellent service and wonderful mussels. Even had a sparkler (my birthday ) in my dessert and the hungarian waiter singing happy birthday.

We had 2 bottles of wine and had a glass poured each, the rest we had to pour ourselves. Not good service tonight, unusual for cote - our favourite restaurant.

Excellent food and efficient friendly service. It is our favourite place to eat in Winchester at the moment. The menu always has something we like and changes regularly. Portion size just right. Hope they can keep this high standard up!

Great food, very friendly waitress but overall service was terrible. Nearly an hour to get any food, they got our order wrong, didn't send the replacement dish and then tried to charge us for it. Gave the wrong order to the table next to us too. I'd go back because the food was excellent but they need more staff.

The restaurant has a very nice atmosphere, the staff is great and efficient. And very friendly Food was superb. A very good experience. Can definitely recommend this restaurant.

I have been about a dozen times to Cote and for the 1st time I cannot give an excellent report. We were a party of 4, and 2 of us had veal escalope in breadcrumbs. It arrived not very warm so I mentioned it to the waitress who kindly passed on the comment to her Manager. We were told some of the desserts would be free of charge as an apology. I ended up not eating a 1/3 of my meat and it was full of gristle.So not only it was not warm - the meat was not very nice. Any the bill came and I asked the member of our party who was paying if they had not charged for some of the desserts and we were charged for everything. I did not make a fuss as we were guests, but I am really disappointed with the experience.

Fantastic meal and really lovely they took into account my mention of my mums birthday and did some extra treats for her which really made the evening.

Service quite slow (again). Staff seemed more interested in the larger parties. Steaks given to the wrong people and one mouthful of the fish pie tasted a bit off. All in all not the celebration meal I had hoped for.

The Cote Restaurants continue to be our favourite eating venue. Staff, Menu, Surroundings are always appealing. We were especially pleased to find that you have now added the larger (250ml) size of glass for wine. We now look forward to visiting our newly opened local Cote in Bournemouth - from the outside it looks so very enticing!

We had a super meal, the food was excellent and the Staff were very efficient and friendly. The Champagne with the set meal was a lovely touch.

Good value as always but special lunch menu doesn't change much for those of us who frequent the establishment. Also disappointed that a voucher I had for a complimentary drink was refused as "being old" when it had no expiry date on it.

Excellent food, visit regularly but they always vary the set menu which is extremely reasonable at £13 for 3 courses before 7pm. Friendly service, relaxed setting. Great for meeting friends or work colleagues mid week, or 4 romantic supper 4 2.

I had a lovely meal and the service was great. They even sang haply birthday to me with a candle in my desert. Very sweet! The food was lovely and the restaurant had a relazed, friendly atmosophere whilst being very stylish. I definitely recommend it to my friends.

Looked after my wife, who is allergic to may things very well indeed. And my Breton fish stew was really excellent - really fresh tasting.

Have been to Cote Brasserie several times, both in Winchester and London. Once again the food and service was great and it is particularly good that there is a wide enough choice on the menu, without being ridiculously long, plus new and seasonal dishes always offered. Good choice of wines too.

The food was delicious and the service up to Côte's usual high standard. We were tight for time so I'd checked the specials menu on the website so that my wife, who arrived before me, could order on my behalf. All went smoothly!

Very quick service and good food . Staff very friendly and helpful and a very lively but relaxing atmosphere. We would certainly eat there again and recommend it for others.

The all in price breakfast which includes a hot drink and fruit juice is excellent value in this high quality restaurant. We received a warm welcome and attentive staff.

Although the set lunch menu food was good overall (even if the portion size was rather small) we were sat twice in unpleasant and unenjoyable places. On arrival we were shown to a corner in a bar which was clearly being used for morning coffee. We asked to be moved. The waiter ignored our request at first but when we persisted we were moved to another part of the bar, slightly better environment but not a pleasant situation in which to enjoy lunch, more like a busy corridor the traffic through which made conversation difficult and the whole experience unenjoyable. The lunch itself was, as I say, well prepared and pleasant to eat and very good value. The service was rather brusque but attentive. At no time was the main restaurant area, which looked quite pleasant, full and we were at a loss as to why we were stuck in the bar. We won't return. There are far more enjoyable places in Winchester.

Friendly service. Handy location. Food is always good and monthly set menu is always excellent value for money. Great place to meet up with friends for lunch.

Staff were very friendly and helpful, the service was fast and efficient. Our meal was well presented and of good quality. We would recommend Côte to friends and revisit when in the area.

It would have been really brilliant had it not been for a family with very loud children whom the parents could not control. The lovely waitress tried her best to control and passing these children running around the restaurant . To no great success. We eventually moved to a different part of the restaurant.

very good value early evening menu (2 courses for £10.95 if ordered before 7pm) - makes a big difference on cost for a party of 5! Pleasant surroundings - restaurant arranged over 3 levels so it doesn't feel too crowded. Staff friendly but not always efficient; my soup arrived cold and side dishes arrived after we had already eaten the mains!
