Côte Winchester

A lovely meal and at a reasonable price. Although the restaurant was pretty busy, the service was excellent. Would definitely recommend and will go again.

My wife and I had a very enjoyable lunch at Cote Winchester all the food was very nice and we enjoyed the complimentary bottle of wine, we will return again

As usual we were made very welcome on our arrival. It was nice to see familiar faces. On a busy Friday evening the food and service was very good. The crab mayonnaise was not as good as previous, more mayonnaise and less crab but still delicious. The crème caramel was as good as always.

The food was really lovely we have never had a bad meal there and the staff were very attentive and efficient. The atmosphere very pleasant.

Great food, really tasty filet steak. Even had one of the staff remind us the bill included service rather than us spending extra. Great food and staff, will be back

Lovely setting in Winchester. The had a beautiful table in the window which was great for us. Food was wonderful excellent belly pork and rib eye steak. We both kept sharing off each other’s plate. The whole evening was rounded off by outstanding and friendly staff.

Another great experience at Cote Winchester. Staff gave excellent service as usual, meal we had a was thoroughly enjoyable, we will certainly be back soon.

Great food, great service - without doubt my favourite restaurant in Winchester right now. I would recommend the smoked salmon followed by duck breast... if you still have room after that, the tarte au citron is the standout dessert, you would not find a better one in a top Parisian joint.

Lovely evening with great service and delicious food as always. Really enjoyed ourselves and the location is perfect to park in tower street car park.

As ever, the service was efficient and the food good. This was my fourth visit to the Winchester restaurant in the last 12 months and it always maintains its levels of customer satisfaction.

The sauce in my Fish Parmetier was very thin but it had reasonable taste. All the staff who served us were very pleasant and helpful.

As a group we meet twice a year at Win Hester and have used the restaurant as the venue for the last 6 times. As you can imagine we would not keep going back if we were not satisfied with the service, food and ambience. As we come from various places we often arrive at different times, sometimes one of us cannot make it, what ever the situation the staff always cope and are very flexible, friendly and helpful. Finally the food is always of very good quality, what ever we order. Thank you very much and no doubt we will be back in the summer.

Very welcoming with familiar but not overly so staff. Excellent wine as reward and good food. That is all I want to say so your 25 word minimum is rather tiresome

We were a group of four. We had the pre-7 pm menu and enjoyed three courses. All were excellent. the main fish course was served hot on hot plates which is as it should be. The service was excellent. It was fairly noisy but not the restaurant's fault. we are Cote regulars so will of course go again.

We were eating early so took advantage of their “early bird” menu. This was great value and the staff were all lovely, we had a super meal.

Food as good as ever, nicely presented, in the french style ,which we like. Staff courteous and attentive without being effusive,with no pressure to buy add on portions.. Atmosphere very good

The service was very slow two of the starters were burnt and one for mains was cold and sent back very disappointing for the cost of the meal

Pleasant evening with American friends who were impressed with the quality of the food. The staff were very attentive and ensured we enjoyed our evening

One dish, Spinach and Mushroom Crepes, was not good. The mushroom sauce had separated out into a porridge-like part and a very thin runny part. Other main dish and starters were fine (crottin, chicken liver parfait and cod goujons) and service was good.

We have always enjoyed dining at Cote. Sunday lunch with family and friends was completely unhurried as it should be and the staff were friendly and attentive without being intrusive. All of our courses were perfectly cooked and well presented. Great!

Couldn't have been better. There were very helpful staff - a good choice of food. The food was beautifully prepared and very tasty - a brilliant eating experience. We will be going back for more.

Good food and service. Found it very difficult to manage conversation as the area we were sat in had poor acoustics so with lots of background noise it was hard to hear!

After cinema, made a lovely evening. We had a voucher for free bottle of wine, and meal extremely good. Service friendly and good. Really nice place.

The service we've come to expect. Friendly staff but not intrusive. Good food. Pleasant surroundings. Have you considered stocking alcoholextracted wine? Could be a winner.

Excellent,friendly service. Good value for money. It is our restaurant of choice when visiting Winchester. It is just around the corner from the EVERYMAN Cinema so goo for pre or post film.

As usual, absolutely no complaints about the venue and service. However, one item on the luncheon starter menu was disappointing. This was the Tuna Pissaladiere -the flatbread was not warm and the food was dry and really rather tasteless and uninteresting. The main courses were fine.

Eggs were ordered to be overcooked and not runny. First eggs came out under cooked next eggs came out still runny. Overcooked eggs must be the easiest ask, how can a chef get that wrong. The manager did credit back us our coffee but maybe crediting back the breakfast would have been more appropriate!

Cote is always very reliable, good food, very good service and a relaxed atmosphere every time. The menu is unadventurous but we've never been disappointed with anything.

Having had coffee here before we decided to try the lunch. We were disappointed with the starter. The description of the leek vinaigrette included a free range egg. We expected it to be a soft poached egg rather than one that was cold & hard boiled. We were told that the kitchen had run out of poached eggs, at about 1pm. Perhaps the description should make it clear how the egg is cooked. The main was disappointing – one meal was over cooked and burnt underneath, and the others lacked the French wow we are used to. On the plus side the staff were friendly and attentive & everywhere was spotless, we just felt that the food did not live up to promise of the menu.

An excellant full English breakfast, with fresh squeezed orange juice and a good cup of coffee. A really good start to a damp dull winter morning.

The food was good quality and very tasty. Restaurant itself had a really nice ambience and the staff provided an attentive (but not overdone) service.

Attentive but discrete service and as anticipated - superb food. Cote is a firm favourite meeting place for 'ladies who lunch' dates. We will be back very soon.

We went off the 2/3 course menu and thoroughly enjoyed the food. It was tasty and hot along with a really pleasant waitress. Would certainly recommend this Cote.

We were very pleased with our visit to the Winchester restaurant. Our table was close to the disabled toilet and the staff area which we found a bit disturbing at times, but our party probably made more noise!

Have visited a number of times before and always had a great meal, however this time it was disappointing. I am veggie and ordered the risotto which was very watery and lacked any particular flavour. My friend ordered the roasted veg to accompany her meal which was tiny and rather miserable. My sister, also veggie, ordered the goats cheese salad which was served in a difficult deep bowl and was nothing exciting at all. The meat eaters amongst us seemed happy enough but as I have had excellent veggie options here before, it was very disappointing. Staff were friendly but despite ordering 3 bottles of wine between us it was never poured out for us at all, not even the first glass (I'm quite able to top up a glass!) which is customary. It has left a bad taste for me and I won't be returning in a hurry I'm afraid.

Excellent food, which was very nicely presented, good service, friendly staff, nice atmosphere and good value, a very pleasant evening we all enjoyed thank you.

After trying Cotê Winchester recently and finding it much better we had business lunch there yesterday Good service , bussy atmosphere and nice food Will certainly use again

Cote never fails to surprise. Whilst many restaurants seem intent on giving poor quality at a high price, Cote gives extraordinary value with very good quality at a remarkably reasonable cost. An interesting and exciting menu with service at exactly the right level of care and attention.

Lovely food, however, we did have to wait rather a long time for it. I had the crepes complete and they said that was why.

Service was slow and bill was incorrect which we only noticed when we got home! That said spoke to Manager who was great and refunded the error straight away. We Would revisit.

Always excellent. Good service and delicious well priced food. A varied menu with something for everyone in a friendly atmosphere. Somewhere really consistent and reliable.
