This was our first visit and we were very impressed. The staff were friendly, the service was impeccable and the food arrived promptly. The quality of the food was excellent - we cannot fault a thing - and would highly recommend this restaurant. We consisted of a party of three adults, on the next table there was a young family, there were couples of varying ages, and larger groups on bigger tables. Everyone is catered for.
Good food but the service was slow and begrudging, despite there being few customers in the restaurant. When I enquired of the (?) French waitress what had become of the first course after waiting 20 minutes, I was told that she had put the order in 13 minutes previously, which was probably true but which begs the question of why it couldn't have been put in sooner. I know that French restaurant service has a certain reputation but I wouldn't necessarily expect to come across it in Winchester. Perhaps after Brexit..........?
Good food. Disappointed about not being able to claim rewards promised on internet. Good friendly caring service. Clean pleasant surroundings. Very efficient manageress. Will return. lol
As usual the service and food was superb and I must say great value for money. Our guests from Dorchester and Winchester, were well impressed and we had a delightful if a little noisy on our part afternoon, we hope we did not annoy any other clients of yours!!!
Service charge added at 12.5% without consent. Food and service was excellent. Would return but remember that everything 12.5% more expensive. Still good though. Tasty
Good value food with lively friendly atmosphere. Friday night was very busy! Good venue for families with teenagers as well as the food appeals to all.
Visited the Cote Winchester on Sunday 17 June 2018. Our the staff were very helpful and pleasant. The meal was presented well and most enjoyable.
Great restaurant- fantastic service. Staff very friendly and looked after the children very well. The food as always was delicious. We will be back again soon Thanks
This is the second Cote at which we have eaten, the other being in Cheltenham. Apart from the layout of the interiors, they are exactly the same. The menus are extensive with something for everyone, and the service is efficient and friendly. Our only constant concern is the noise level, but as visitors to the UK, we now realise that the art of quiet eating and conversation has been lost in the UK. It is no fault of the restaurant. We enjoyed our meal and would regard the Cote chain as one that gives excellent quality. We particularly enjoyed the seasonal fresh esparagus and the duck breast. The Lagarde red is a pleasant wine at a reasonable price.
I have visited many Cotes in various locations. This was not up to scratch and not up to their usual standard. The restaurant decor was tired. Luckily we had booked, but they were turning many people away saying they were full, although there were LOTS of empty tables and the entire upstairs floor was empty! Cote breakfast is usually fantastic, but my bacon was barely cooked and chewy and for the first time in any Cote restaurant I made a complaint about this (which to be fair to them was quickly dealt with). I will definitely not be going back to Cote Winchester - disappointing.
Great food great service very nice surroundings. The staff are always polite and nothing is to much trouble. The variety of the menu allows every one to have their favourite
An excellent experience. Great location, comfortable surroundings, very good food and pleasant attentive staff. After a first enjoyable visit with friends, we booked in again the very next week! I personally recommend the fillet steak with truffle hollandaise.
Great food, excellent service, a good ambience, and open at a time when, as a customer, I needed it. Party of four really enjoyed the meal, go there.
On arrival, excellent attentive service. As the evening progressed the service became slower and slower. Duck confit sooooooo salty. Good decaf coffee. Might come again but not top of the list.
Great service and great food - lovely atmosphere and the staff are all friendly and has a great sense of humour. Good to see a whole menu for Gluten free too
Sea bream was prepared perfectly. Enjoy the set specials before 19:00 weekdays. Great value.
Always enjoy Cote. Friendly service and well cooked meals. Also lots of options.
Food was all very good except some bad mussels that were served that did not open. I informed the waitress and she comped me desert. So yes I would return. And hopefully the chef won’t plate bad mussels in the future. Overall a good place.
Nice atmosphere, quick friendly service, and great food. Small problem with starter quickly put right. Gluten free options at Cote are always spot on and clearly marked.
As usual, the service was excellent and the food was good. We visit this branch regularly for breakfast, lunch and dinner and have never been disappointed.
The asparagus starter was first class. However, my chicken appeared underdone - pink at the bone - which made it less enjoyable. To be fair, it seemed okay at first and there were no repercussions. If it happened again I would definitely send it back.
Food was excellent despite our meal originally been delivered to another table and sent back to the kitchen. A very pleasant way to spend a Bank Holiday lunch time. Staff very pleasant and smiley. However the gratuity being automatically to the bill was not pointed out to us until after we paid and we offered the waitress a cash gratuity.
Great evening. Good service although some parts of our main course were delayed. However this was discussed and taken off our bill. Will definitely be returning
We were a party of four, everyone of us thought the food was delicious! Service and wine were also very good. We will be back!
Everything fine, as always.: good food and good wine, all in a congenial atmosphere, and with good, polite service. It's always a pleasure to return to Cote.
Attentive, thoughtful. Rarely do people read my comment that I would like a high chair but it was all ready for my son - it’s very much appreciated even if it’s feel small. Food was lovely as always
friendly and efficient staff. the time allowed between courses was just about right, allowing one course to settle before the next arrived. food very good, we had escalope de veau and pork belly which were cooked correctly and tasty. after starters and mains we had to settle for one dessert between 3 of us. have never been disappointed here.
Good food, service and venue! We were given a free glass of kir royale as it was our anniversary! We will definitely go again soon.
We enjoyed the tasty light mains and an excellent value Sauvignon Blanc. Attentive service - thank you. Only (minor) issue was we had requested a table in a quiet part of the restaurant and were seated near a party.
Staff were very pleasant, food was good but I don't drink wine and favour elderflower presse which was not stocked. Other soft drinks were a bit sweet. We will visit again.
Really liked the new Prestige set menu. Still really good value but slightly more deluxe options. Service is always nice and friendly. Not too crowded. If there is room they seat you really nicely - not all packed together. Space between tables. These things matter to me and it is appreciated. Obviously food is the most important thing in a restaurant BUT everything else matters too. Very nice glassware and china. Proper salt and pepper grinders. Linen napkins. Standards, darling. Standards. Gold star.
Great food and great service. We were last people to leave the restaurant but staff were very happy to continue serving us until we left.
Very reasonably priced, good quality food and excellent service. Staff were attentive without being over bearing, nice ambience without being pretentious. We will definitely be back.
A lovely family meal for my Daughter's Birthday. All the food was excellent and the service was faultless. Thank you for an enjoyable experience, will definitely be returning.
My husband had the special steak, which was enormous and tough. The restaurant had run out of asparagus so items on the menu we would have chosen weren’t available. However, the service staff were very good.
The menu was good and varied enough to suit all of our tastes. The location was great and the service was quick and very polite.
The food had taste. Not often found in our high street restaurants. This price was senceable but the waiter service was excellent as always in Winchester
Cote always delivers, and the Winchester Cote was no exception. The lady who looked after us was excellent, very attentive and looked after us very well.
This is an excellent restaurant. The food was superb and the service was top rate. We will definitely be going back net time we are in Winchester.
Excellent service and food was fabulous. Thoroughly enjoyed our experience and would certainly recommend Cotes to friends and family. Will definitely come back again soon.
The staff were very attentive and amusing, we ate from the set menu and found all courses superb and great value for money. We will definitely return.
Another very enjoyable visit to Cotes Winchester! The service was excellent, very attentive and helpful as well as prompt. Our meals were delicious and well presented and good value. Overall a high quality experience!
Great service. Attentive staff and great brunch. Lovely location in Winchester and would go back again. Highly recommend the eggs Benedict and feel it's good value for money
Wonderful. It was my anniversary with my girlfriend and all the staff were excellent and made that extra effort. Well done Wyandotte and vote brasserie teams.
Cote has always given good value, but this was the first time I had tried the new Prestige menu which offers more choice. The set meal costs £18.95 for three courses and is available form 12noon until the restaurant closes, Monday to Friday. Like the lower priced set menu, it changes each month. Delicious and good value!
Food was good except for the set menu starter “Pissaladiere Camenbert” it was terrible. Flatbread was bitter and caramelised onions and Camembert cheese was dry and flavorless.
The food was very good value for money, nicely cooked and presented. My only criticism was that it was cold in the restaurant, despite the weather being warm outside. We did mention this to the waiter who said he would turn off the fan, however it made little difference. This rather spoilt the evening.
We were well looked after by the serving staff and the food was excellent. Our 2 guests over from Gozo were impressed. We very much enjoyed our evening.
Staff courteous as always, but this time the service was a bit sloppy. All the food were nice exception of the crumble aux pomme dessert which was very underwhelming.
Staff were very welcoming as is usual and we had a nice window seat. The menu is varied particularly if wanting breakfast or amid morning snack.
