Côte Winchester

My goodness whatever would we do without a monthly lunch at Cote. So good to not only be welcomed by recognition but remember what we like to eat! How cool is that!

Very enjoyable visit. Food and service were both excellent. Menu choice is varied and interesting. Portions were generous. I will definitely return to this restaurant.

Atmosphere and service were good. Interesting food but the leeks were a little tough and there were too many green lentils with the toulouse sausages.

Food very tasty and well presented. Service friendly but slow - could have been timing perhaps shift changing. Long wait for coffee then another long wait for bill. We all liked our waiter. Bar staff extremely noisy, banging around as they work. Always happens in this Cote and really not necessary. Overall a very enjoyable lunch.

A restaurant that has a luxury ambience in the centre of Winchester. a short walk from Tower St Car park. The staff were welcoming, friendly and relaxed. Service was courteous, personable, prompt, efficient and unobtrusive. The food was the usual Cote high Standard. We ate early on a Saturday evening and the restaurant was busy. Pleased that we had booked a table. A good experience.

This is a particularly good restaurant which ticks all the boxes; excellent food with fresh ingredients, expertly cooked, and full of flavour; friendly, knowledgeable staff who make you feel like a valued customer; catering for special dietary requirements - Cote is one of the best Coeliac-friendly restaurant chains in this country! The atmosphere is buzzing and warm and welcoming. Definitely a place to keep returning to...I'll be back :)

The service here is always good. Our waiter was friendly, fun and knowledgable. He was also very efficient, making our evening an enjoyable one. We all enjoyed our meal (prestige menu) which had enough variety for meat eaters and vegetarians alike.

A very pleasant evening with friends. Food was the usual good standard, only downside the waiting staff were prompt but a little dour, not their usual chatty selves.

We always come to Cote Winchester, before we go to the Theatre Royal, and you never fail to please. Good food at very competitive prices and always good service

The food and was excellent and the service was good. We went back to have breakfast the next morning and the team that were on duty were brilliant

Buzzing At Sunday lunch. They were very busy but managed to fit us in without at booking- we came back after an hour. All good.

Always a very good menu offered with attentive waiting staff on hand to assist. Very nice ambience and lovely food. We always enjoy our meals there.

I have eaten at Cote in Winchester many times, and the quality of the food never wavers and they always have such interesting and tasty dishes on the menu.

We have been to Cote in Winchester many times before and this occasion did not disappoint. New Autumn menu launched today - glad to see smoked salmon is back as it is my favorite starter.

Very enjoyable brunch. Staff very pleasant. Vegetarian breakfast super as my husband said was the French. Very good value. We come here often and will continue to.

Sorry they no longer do the Mon-Fri set menu at weekends. However we all enjoyed our meals and received good service. Will return again, but not at a weekend.

It was a nice restaurant with a variety of very cliche choices on the menu. Well recommended for anyone who wants a "taste of France" from an outsiders perspective however missing some of the best native dishes.

As usual the atmosphere was great and staff friendly. Tempted by Breton fish stew we love but tried breton chicken which was fine but still love the fish stew best!

Excellent food and waiter. Very attentive. Chef even made me a special side dish instead of side that came with my dish. And Lydia and the guys always make me, and every guest as far as I can tell, feel very welcome. I like going here often because you get the consistency and quality of a good chain restaurant but it still feels like an independent. Service far exceeds most of the other restaurants on High St.

A lovely relaxed meal with great service. Sat in one of the booths at the back of the restaurant and there was plenty of space to enjoy conversation without feeling cramped. It’s great to see the favourites on the menu but with seasonal options too adding a variety of choice.

Lovely welcome from the staff and very attentive without being intrusive, nothing was too much trouble. Will definitely return when I visit Winchester again. Food of very good quality.

We had a very good meal, several items were sold out unfortunately. The waiter was friendly and attentive and yet left us to enjoy the evening. Very good.

It was ok but not great on this visit. We go here quite often as my mum lives in Winchester and it suits everybody’s budget and tastes. My gripe would be that we were sat under the air conditioning unit and by the disabled toilet and where plates were cleared to. It was draughty, my mum is in poor health and as there were many other tables available I asked if we could move. I was told no as people would be occupying those tables soon. In fairness they did turn the air conditioning off which made it better but no one came to any of the tables I’d asked about by the time we’d left! Moving us would have made the difference between an average review and a good review!

Lively. Good gluten free options. Really enjoyed the meal, although the ice cream desert was poor value £4.75 for 2 small scoops!

The food was excellent value served by friendly & efficient staff. A most enjoyable meal and we will certainly repeat the experience in the near future.

It was a pleasant evening with friends. We ate from the Premier menu, which could do with some new dishes. Remarks from my companions were that the composition of the pork belly dish has changed. It used to be served on cabbage with dauphinois potatoes on the side. Now there is mashed potato, which makes it rather heavy. Also, the breadcrumbed calamari starter was too large a portion. Service was good, with everything being brought simultaneously to the table. I found the temperature slightly cool, although it warmed up later.

We spent a very pleasant evening at the restaurant. Food was really great, service just right - not too intrusive. A good “girl’s” night out.

The whole lunch experience was great. The staff with whom we had contact were friendly and efficient. The food was good and very good value for money. The only criticism was that the starters were too large!

Lovely food, nice staff, good admosphere. The only thing is the wine glasses. Ordered a loveley wine, expect a real wine glass, but that is a personal thing ...

As always with Côte restaurants, we were welcomed by friendly and helpful staff. My husband and I both ate from the Prestige menu and enjoyed a really tasty meal.

Ok experience but the service was slow. Probably because we had to rearrange the time to 1.30 rather than earlier tome of 12.30. Food and company, staff etc good as usual. Atmosphere great.

Noisy generally, and group of four girls next to us exceptionally loud unfortunately; service a bit off hand including initial “welcome”; food fine however, usual Côte good standard

Fabulous lunch as per usual only slightly spoilt by having to evacuate the restaurant for a short while due to a fire in the kitchen!!
