Very good experience Food was good and service was excellent.

Beef-en-croute from £11.95 lunch menu was delicious. Meat very tender and great taste. Pastry light and melted in mouth. Creme caramel dessert excellent as always. 5 out of 6 of us chose it.

Food as usual was excellent and the waitress was charming, certainly worth six stars!!

Would like to thank our waiters and the entire team for a lovely graduation meal. (Sorry I didn't get individual names) Food was amazing, drinks were lovely, the atmosphere and service were ace. Amazing, thank you !!x

Eat here on a regular and it’s always up to par.

Very disappointing. Very loud place but no music. Very long wait for food and even longer for my son's juice ordered with the food, eventually served after about 45min and a reminder at 35min! Son's meal served cold, my 'pink' steak - well done :( Nobody asked the standard 'is all OK with the food' but didn't forget to add 12.5% gratitude to the bill...

We are big fans of Cote Winchester and regular diners ,but recent experience was way below expectation and a big disappointment. The service was deplorable - it seemed a different place from usual.

We went for the set menu as we meet early evening once every 6 weeks for a catch up. The mushroom Brioche was warm and there were very few (3) slices of mushroom on each persons dish. It tasted very nice but the lack of mushrooms and the temperature was disappointing. Our waitress said”That’s how it comes , Madam.” The boeuf on croute came just with watercress. It was like a puff of wind and was not filling. The beef was tender and tasted very good. The chocolate mouse was yummy as usual.

Good set menu. Delicious tomato side salad. Excellent service from friendly staff.

We go to Cote regularly and they never fail to please, on food quality, service and value

Although very busy as it was graduation week we had a delicious meal and excellent customer service too.

We ordered from the seasonal menu but were later told our choices weren’t available, nor was another choice. So we went a la cart. The two steaks we ordered were over cooked. Not impressed.

Very pleasant evening. Warm welcome and attentive waiter throughout. Food was great. The restaurant itself as a lovely relaxed vibe and as a party we agreed the atmosphere was significantly better than other sites we had visited. Would definitely recommend this restaurant to others.

Fantastic night again. Always good service and food. Our go to place for a special nights when visiting our daughter in Winchester. Few allergies in the family that the restaurant deals with, with no fuss.

Excellent lunch. Loved the Bretton fish stew in the past but that has been substituted by sea food linguine which was excellent. Will have that again.

All just okay but not good enough to go again

Mum is 83 and wanted a soft one of the long seats rather than a chair but because of our number of 5 people we were declined them because they were for 4’s or 7’s 😰😡 Also a LONG walk to the toilets from the part we were in ( first floor 6 steps up) where I passed several unused seats similar to what we’d requested. Also very noisy in the centre round table where we were. Food nice, staff fine. Noticed the advert outside the restaurant offered 2 course meals and 3 course meals for less than the amount on the menu’s ie £5 less. Not happy about that. We were in at 6.30, ordered before 7 but the 2 course let meal was shown at £16.95 and outside it offered 2 courses at £11.95!

Food was great. Waiter was superb and worked very hard. However with so many bookings there was clearly not enough staff put on as all tables appeared to be waiting far too long to be served.

Very Good, for the amount of people that were in our party the service and food was excellent, and we didn't have a long wait for anything.

I organised a group booking for our local Women’s Institute Supper Club. There were 11 of us. I personally have visited Cote in Winchester many times. This evening was most enjoyable. The service we received was really quick and professional. The food was as usual delicious and well presented. A good evening was had by all. Thank you Cote Winchester.

Crab bisque was watered down or at least tasted very watered down. Service was good. Lemon tart wasn't great, pastry was soggy. Drinks are good. We enjoy coming but will stick to the creme brulee next time !!

Food fine and tasty but restaurant room appeared rather soulless and bland. The tables were rather close. We were well treated by our server but without genuine warmth! Just a rather unsatisfying experience. I’ve been to your branch in Lewes and found that the food was similarly tasty but it was very friendly and we left feeling uplifted having had a very happy meal.

The service was incredibly slow we were informed that our choice of main course was a 25 minute wait ! Mine was a burger?! So we had to order starters as we were hungry. The burger was horrible tasted like cardboard supposed to be medium but totally cooked through . It came no relish or ketchup . The whole experience was disappointing and expensive . I won’t be returning .

My wife and I eat regularly at Cote in Winchester. When booking we often request a particular table and fully understand if this is not possible. We arrived having requested table 30 or one close by to be told, rather aggressively that this was not possible as they had 120 bookings and could not accomodate our request. We were offered a choice of 3 tables in the bar area, left to choose one, and had to endure a selection of people leaving the restaurant to use their phones in front of our table. Our waiter who was superb was rushed off his feet which meant a longer than usual wait between courses as none of his colleagues could be bothered to stop and clear the plates to help him. All the time we were there table 30 and 31 were vacant. Cote are obviously doing so well they no longer have a need to consider their regular customers, we on occasion have.been one of a very few tables in there. Previously we have been well received but on this occasion felt as they were busy they could not be bothered with us. Such a shame as there are many restaurants in Winchester, we eat out regularly and are well received and looked after. I would emphasise that our waiter did his very best, the food and wine are superb but we do like to eat in a relaxing atmosphere not sit there as if we are in the way.

Awful. Sat down. Was told immediately that certain dishes were off! No apology. I mentioned that those were the ones I’d wanted. Almost laughed at and got and ‘oh well! Laughable service. Won’t be returning. Walked down the road to Brassiere Blanc for a proper experience. You need to think carefully about the staff you employ

Always a lovely experience in Cote Winchester whether it is just the two of us or as today 8. The staff are friendly, courteous and on top of their jobs. Food is always vg and the Creme Caramel to die for. We will return ( but they already know that!!)

We had to wait to be greeted at the door despite members of staff rushing around in front of us. Once seated, the waitress was very attentive and the food was good, but the seating upstairs was like sitting in a corridor whilst people traipsed to the toilets past our table. It was not a relaxing experience with loud music being played constantly.

Very dingy upstairs; you need a bit more light per table.

Excelent. Friendly staff. Good food. My daughter celebrated her 16th birthday with some of her friends - We left them to it.. :-) They all said that they had a wonderful time, the food was good and plentiful.

Good food, noisy seat near the bar. I do object to having a 12.5% gratuity added to my bill. A gratuity is for the customer to decide and should not be imposed by Cote
