Friendly waiter, remembered us from previous visits. Attentive and charming. Food arrived quickly and was lovely as always. It was only a quick meal for lunch but nice atmosphere and relaxing!

Food was fabulous, service not as good. Having asked for a comfortable, quiet table I thought we could have been offered a better choice. Pairing wine with different courses is ok, but it needs to be served with the meal, not ages beforehand, and the white wine needs to be a lot colder; it would also be nice to see the wine poured - plonking a glass down on the table - how do I know if it is the right wine?

Staff were a little unfriendly and the tea was much too weak( need 2 t bags not one!) however the food was very good and value for money and the music just right

Food was very nice but thought waiter was little over the top it's nice to have a good waiter but he was constantly asking all ok etc. We asked for bill was told someone paid for ours we paid there as mix up by waiter but if it had been more I wouldn't of load extra.

I am a great supporter of Cote Brasserie - good food and service at a fair price. However I found my experience in Winchester a bit below par. It was lacking in atmosphere, lots of open floor space, not the usual decor, a large double table with 3 young Mum's, high chair and the table completely covered in drinking cups etc. more like a coffee morning. The child, thankfully, was well behaved. This was at lunchtime, not midmorning.

Met front of house by very pleasant guy who showed us to our table at rear of restaurant. Our waitress took drinks order followed by food order, she was pleasant but not overly friendly. My guess is that the young male waiter was in the process of training one of waiting staff as they were quite chatty amongst themselves. We ordered from the Prestige Set Menu - Starters arrived and were fine, however, the main course of rib eye steak was very disappointing, my steak was warm, but my husband's was cold (there was no way that the large pot of garlic butter was going to melt over these steak) and the fries were poor, they were overcooked, I would say probably re-heated then left to go cold. The best thing about the meal were the side orders of salad. Further to this at no point did any of the waiting staff ask if our food was ok apart from when they cleared the table. Disappointing visit.
