Côte Winchester

Very good promotion with reasonable quality of wine ; excellent service and good seating. Not hurried.Food quality excellent. Only suggestion would be to add or replace some items on menu as there has been little change for some time

Central location close to the cathedral and old castle site. Friendly service and the standard Côte bistro menu prepared to a good standard. Good kids menu, so great for families with little ones.

Attentive staff. Excellent food. I would definitely retur to this restaurant and have no hesitation in recommending it to friends and family. I will be returning soon.

An excellent lunch menu - the food has improved compared to our previous visit. Keep up this high standard and we'll be returning more frequently.

It was OK but, for a very similar price, we prefer Brasserie Blanc. The menu gives a little more choice and the ambience is more comfortable.

Food was very good and service was excellent. However the room was excessively noisy even allowing for a New Years Eve clientele. Not sure what could be done about this.

I always enjoy going to Cote. Lovely atmosphere, friendly staff and their two-course or three-course set menus are really good value. Would recommend as an easy, casual supper.

Tried Cote Winchester for the first time today, It's at the top of the High St so would advise you allow more time to get there than we did after parking. Cote service seems consistently good and here was no exception with friendly staff and good food.

Great food, good service. Unfortunately we were tucked away in a corner behind the coat rack so didn’t feel part of the restaurant but still had a really good time. Certainly recommended.

We were a party of four. 3 of us had the Parmatier which was really a fish pie. It was quite nice but overpriced for what it was. The fourth member of the party had the duck which he enjoyed. Compares favourably with Cafe Rouge another French chain.

Staff friendly, food arrived quick and was hot and tasty. Had the set menu - good value for money, there was something for everyone on the menu, the kids loved it!

Food good as always. Staffing was poor. Seemed to lack knowledge and there didnt seem to be enough staff although restaurant wasnt full. Normally good at Cote B but NYE was the worst Ive experienced at any Cote B.

The starter of mushrooms on toasted brioche was rather disappointing as it was very frugal on mushrooms and quite a lot of sauce. My main course however lived up to expectations of Cote quality and of course they also do a nice creme caramel and excellent coffee.

Four of us dined on together at New Year and we all thoroughly enjoyed our food across all courses. We would have given a '6' rating as we also received excellent service from our waiter. However, one point has been dropped because the front of house (manager?) was both arrogant, flippant and rude when we arrived. At one point when I remarked "well this is a good start", his response was "well you can cancel if you want" instead of issuing an apology. Even our waiter who had overheard the exchanges was embarrassed and later apologised to us on his behalf. Fortunately, the remainder of the evening was excellent.

We dined with friends on New Years eve - service and food both excellent. This was my 6th Cote visit but first at Winchester -shall definitely return,

An excellent evening. The food was very good as usual, the service also, and the waitress was extremely good. It was rather noisy, but then again, it was New Years Eve. Highly recommended.

Just back from Winchester where we had a lovely dinner, fantastic service and a glass of champagne to welcome in 2018. Thanks to Miron for looking after us so well.

Absolutely brilliant meal, with great service. The starters, mains and desserts were spot on and the pairing wines were perfect. Only wish we could start again ! Definitely the best restaurant in Winchester at the moment.

Very attentive staff. Food served quickly without rushing our evening. Lighting was off putting and wild heat from bulbs rather warm. Need to change to led which will solve the heat issue.

Great food. Nice service but a little slow today. Service got slower as meal went on. Dessert needed a reminder we were waiting for one cold dessert. Shame. Bit annoying. It finally arrived after all coffee finished. Blemish on a nice meal.

Fab meal. We had a mixture of starters, mains and puddings and all arrived piping hot and nicely presented. It is always a lovely relaxed eating experience at Cote but, as one of our party had to get back to work, her pudding was brought through speedily and without fuss. As always the staff at the Winchester branch were attentive, friendly and helpful. It is a testament to the management at the branch that I see the same staff when I visit (I go quite frequently for either breakfast or lunch....)

Warm welcome, food excellent, good atmosphere. Only disappointment was no halibut left on special! I always feel the automatic addition of 12.5% service charge is not fair - would prefer to tip according to service received. As it was we had excellent service.

Lovely breakfast, delicious food and good choice., coffee warm-not hot. Staff could have been a little more friendly. Manageress was very aloof and seemed disinterested in us as we were only having breakfast

Very good all round service. One small point - we were a party of three, which is an awkward number to seat. There is nothing worse than being put at a normal rectangular table with the luckless third person staring at the empty space opposite We were directed to one such table but I luckily spotted a vacant round table nearby which we moved to. I realise that circular tables are not that numerous, but nor are parties of three who, in my view, should always be allocated a round table if one is available.

Always very reliable, nice ambiance and staff attentive and helpful. Breakfast is good value and a great way to start the day. We will return.

The staff were wonderful so helpful & kind . However my meal tonight was not up to par . The staff reduced my bill which was nice & apologised too . So let's hop next time all is well as normal as we do like coming.

Very nice atmosphere and great service. The halibut with mushroom and leek sauce and the duck with cherry sauce were delicious. Would definitely recommend for a high standard but reasonably priced meal - great value for money.

As usual the service and food was very good. I do like it when staff make time even when they are busy to have a chat and make you feel welcome.

Great location for Cotes brasserie Booked Sunday lunch in this wonderful city. Had the roast chicken which was excellent Wine reasonably priced Food was very good throughout

Good meal (again), friendly helpful staff (again). However, we were seated in the rear section of the restaurant on this visit and found the acoustics not great; very noisy, too many hard surfaces, very difficult to have a conversation at the table. The space needs some soft (sound absorbing) surfaces adding to the walls/ceiling. Would put me off eating at the restaurant again if no seating was available in the front section.

Staff very good and attentive. Food was really excellent and will definitely return and being Christmas I expected it to be really busy but nothing was too much trouble

Good surroundings and enjoyable food, excellent service and would recommend it for lunch certainly. Well prepared and tasty main courses that met our requirements. Well done!

First time in Winchester. loved the restaurant, super table in window watching the world go by. Excellent breakfast, all cooked to perfection. Friendly & attentive staff, we will be back.

Great atmosphere, warm welcome and delicious food. Wide range of simple food on the menu at reasonable prices., as was the wine. Doesn’t feel like a chain restaurant.

Our visit was spoiled by some other guests who were clearly compensating for forgetting their hearing aids. At times, the noise was such that could not hold a conversation.

Everything started off fine with an attentive waitress. Food came quickly and was enjoyable but waitress disappeared - we think end of shift - and service was then ok but not great. It would have been helpful to know others would be taking over

Excellent food, service and atmosphere! Will definitely recommend for your family or Christmas celebrations. Well located even for a pit stop during the Christmas shopping trips.

Great food and lovely atmosphere, Our waitress was fantastic and when my mum accidentally knocked over her glass of wine the manager rushed over cleaned it up and offered a free glass on the house. 10/10 service

Lovely meal again. Excellent service, took friends who hadn't been before, they loved it. Have been twice now for dinner and once for breakfast highly recommended

The staff were very friendly, helpful and professional and the food was very good too. We went for a brunch and the menu had a very good variety to choose from also a very good gluten free menu.

Lacked usual high standard of other Côte restaurants, service slow and wouldn’t rush back. Creme Brûlée was burnt with an explanation “it has been happening all night” No acknowledgement from the manager following our notice of dissatisfaction, shame !

I have only praise for Cote. No matter which Cote you eat at the food and service is always superb. The menu also changes slightly according to season.

Restaurant very busy but starter came surprisingly quickly and main course in a timely manner thereafter. Food was lovely and the service excellent and friendly. Enjoyable meal!

Excellent, attentive service. Good quality food, served piping hot, and in good time. Professional waiting staff, very comfortable seating & table, spacious rest rooms. I would got to a Cote regularly.

We were a party of three, and each of us thoroughly enjoyed our meal. The staff were excellent, and extremely helpful. We'll definitely be back.

Great food but very busy so a few errors with order and needing to remind the waitress. All in all, as a loyal customer I would return but perhaps not all at our table would - my steak and tarte au citron was superb.

Good range of food choices on the menu, with plenty for people not wanting standard Christmas fare. Relaxed, comfortable atmosphere. Excellent service, especially as the restaurant was very busy.
