Côte Winchester

Great quality food, service and atmosphere. We like Cote for its consistency in all its restaurants, we know the menus and we know we will be well served.

The efficient and courteous staff welcomed us warmly for an early supper. The 'early bird menu offers great value, and great quality meals. This restaurant continues to impress.

Generally very good spoiled only by the fact that we were evacuated halfway through for a fire alarm. Whilst the staff were very apologetic no account seemed to be taken of those for whom lunch got cold. The glass of Prosecco given to each of us was a gesture but as one of us didn’t drink and two of us profoundly dislike Prosecco it didn’t do much to help. Overall though we were content and Côte creme caramel is so good it makes up for a lot.

The staff were very friendly and attentive. The food was excellent, and we’ll presented. Would definitely recommend Côte both here in Winchester and Clifton Bristol where we have also been recently.

We are never disappointed when we visit Cote Brasserie in Winchester. The waiting staff are both efficient and friendly and the food is very good value. We particularly like the way this chain looks after those who need to be gluten free.

Great place great food nice atmosphere The location is easy to find. The menu has its own variety. The white wine mussels is the best!

We were catching up with family and had an excellent time. The staff, food and premises were all great. We were there rather a long time but we were not hurried at all. I would thoroughly recommend.

Great location,friendly welcome and speedy service. The breakfast dishes were hot and tasty. The waiter was attentive and we were not rushed- coupled with a good selection of newspapers, could there be a better way to spend a leisurely breakfast in Winchester?

Restaurant wasn't busy so we were able to choose a table in the window. Food was really good just all too rushed. Was expecting a relaxed evening. Starter arrived before aperitif was hardly touched and main course touched down as soon as starter plates removed. Bill included a number of drinks from another table. Common sense would have made you realise the bill wasn't for 2. It was sorted v quickly but sort of left feeling we had been processed rather than looked after.

Cote Brasserie is a lovely place, the food is simple but tasty. Nice atmosphere for a lazy lunch. A good selection of wines to choose from.

Had a lovely meal at Cote Winchester, plus the offer of a free gin and tonic when ordering from the a la carte menu. The staff were friendly and attentive and we'll be returning again.

Great food - calamari was tasty and a large portion, followed by the cod loin and fennel mash. Good value for money, friendly staff - recommend!

Very nice evening with good food, but a long wait on arrival before we were offered the drinks menu and could buy our drinks. We felt this should have been a priority!

Lovely food - service fluctuated between highly attentive and non-existent....for example, we asked for wine to be served with our main meal as we had a cocktail first - which arrived promptly and was lovely - but by the time we were part way through our main, no wine had appeared and we had to try to attract the waiter's attention to have it brought before we finished eating. As soon as reminded the wine quickly arrived.....shortly after being given the dessert menu we were asked if we were ready to order - and asked to be given 5 more minutes- but 20 minutes later no-one had returned to take the order - and when the waiter did appear, from the aroma I strongly suspect he had been on a cigarette break..... My husband ordered a dessert and it took some time to be told that this wasn't available - we were informed that the chef wasn't happy to serve it as not up to expected standards - I suppose this is not unreasonable if cooked fresh. It was quite late in the evening. Overall the food was very good and the staff very friendly but the service let the experience down...and then the 12.5% service charge added automatically was a bit annoying - I could have made a fuss and asked to deduct some (as it is stated as optional) but this would have entailed voiding the value already entered into the card machine and after considering I decided not to bother - it was late as I have stated and I think everyone wanted to go home! I probably would go again as the food and atmosphere were good - maybe it was just a bad day.

A warm welcome and we could choose where we wanted to sit. We were served quickly and our food was delicious and nicely presented. Apart from one piece of cutlery being dirty, I would have given top rating.

A great restaurant, good service and excellent food. My crab starter and duck breast were as good as always, I always choose the same in this Cote!

We had a lovely lunch with complimentary gin cocktails. The food and service were as good as ever. My husband was delighted with the size of his veal. A very generous portion!

Lovely meal, great service very polite and attentive, the food was really good 4 of us had a variety of the menu and all was very good. Clean and comfortable, just a pity some customers think they are at a football match shouting and bellowing at each other, just spoilt the ambience of a lovely set restaurant

Great food and wine with a friendly atmosphere. The Prestige set menu gave a great choice of food at reasonable prices. The only negative was the waiter seemed a bit stressed so service could have been better.

We chose the set menu. We enjoyed good food from a reasonable choice, good service, nice wine. What more could you want. We will be back.

We were greeted with a super G&T. The food was delicious as ever. The staff were bubbly and very polite. A great place to eat!

Lovely atmosphere and 2 friendly waiters serving our area. Professional and showing genuine hospitality during service. Food good as always. A la Carte plus a choice of 2 Early Bird menus offering great value.

Excellent, thoroughly helpful sevice - particularly for a very elderly member of our party. (As soon as they could, they moved us away from a large and quite boisterous office party). Very well prepared food - we had risotto (shuck the broad beans to go a step higher), fish parmentier, duck confit (beautifully crisp), and tuna steak - not as pink as advertised, but not overdone or dried out and tough. Excellent value.

We are regular visitors to the Theatre Royal in Winchester, and we always enjoy a meal at Cote Winchester before we go. 'Cote' have never disappointed us, we have always had good service, excellent food and at a price that which we think is superb value. So we say keep up the good work 'Cote' we look forward to our next visit, which will be very soon

UnfortunateLy there was a mix up with meals biut eventually.it was sublime. My duck which had arrived cold,was replaced free of charge was absolutely gorgeous. Head waiter superb

Consistently excellent choice and quality if food. Excellent service always, very professional and helpful staff, particularly yesterday when our waitress was outstanding. Will always be our favourite Winchester restaurant.

Excellent staff, good food, very fair price. the menu offered an extensive range to suit every taste. We had a disabled guest with us and were given level access via a side door.

We have visited Cote in Winchester many times and we are never disappointed. The staff are very helpful and efficient and the food as always was tasty, innovative and good value.

The staff are always so friendly and polite, but not over familiar. The set menus are always good value for money, with monthly surprises. Just a shame the desserts never change, but you can’t have everything.

I was meeting ex -colleagues for a meal, we have used this restaurant before. I asked for a round table- yes! All of us had great meals and the service was flexible but efficient and friendly

Wonderful food and service was spot on. The French onion soup is so good! And steak is always cooked to your liking very well. Lovely choice of wine that complements the great menu. Can’t wait to return!

Very pleasant family celebration evening. Friendly, helpful staff and delicious food. Extensive menu choices for food and drinks. We will be going back again soon.

Lovely brunch - very busy but our food still came quite quickly

Had another lovely meal at the Cote Winchester. This time I had a delicious tuna salad perfect for a Summer evening. We were greeted with a complimentary gin and tonic as an award for being a frequently visitor, what a lovely idea. Diane

Easy to book on line. Had to call to change my reservation and they were helpful and efficient. Friendly and helpful service when there. Nice mix of clientele. 😀
