very good in every respect apart from noise - great value
Staff were superb! Food was lush! And free Prosecco for our birthdays .... what’s not to love! We’ll be back
Booked for Sunday breakfast in a large group. Attentive staff, very helpful. Enjoyed by all.
Lovely food and atmosphere, very pleasant and helpful waiters, will definitely return
Thought the meal lacked somewhat in that 'Gallic flair' that one tends to expect but does not always achieve. The dessert (crumble) particularly seemed somewhat uninspired. Also staff conversations could perhaps have been quieter Having said that we have been before and will probably come again -- certainly the number of people arriving would not seem to back up these views
Food, service and wine was lovely. Unfortunately the table of elderly people next to us had constant, incessant text messages and calls at full volume. Which spoilt the atmosphere! People think it’s the young who have addictions to their phones...... a lovely restaurant is no place for a loud phone!
Absolutely amazing visit. Great food and staff very attentive. First class
Nowhere better to go with a group of girlfriends who want a good catch up whilst enjoying great freshly cooked food at excellent prices
In our opinion nowhere better to go for a meal with friends. Knowing the Winchester Cote well, I can ask for a quiet table and get it, and the food as usual was first class.
Six of us meeting up for a special birthday had great food and service and the requested bay table was ours. Couldn’t have been a more happy occasion
Charming service, delicious food!.Excellent value for money. Thank you, Cote
Slow service, dirty tea cups, orange juice came with ice asked for no ice and the drink was returned with no ice which had just been scooped out causing pith to cover outside of glass. Five portions of toast but only 3 butters, we asked for more Not our best visit, service is normally better
Staff were really helpful and polite and the food was really good. Went there after my sons passing out at Winchester we were a large family group and had a lovely time.
As far we are concerned it’s the best eaterie in town
Waited an hour for our starter but good apology so satisfied.
Amazing service! Couldn’t ask for a more attentive waitress. Didn’t need to ask for another drink it was there when he were running low. We will definitely be back. Thanks again.
Four of us chose from the two set menus and weren’t disappointed. Very tasty food at a good price.
Food, service, ambience and price ALL exceptional. It always is.
Expensive if not eating from the set menu options but good food and service
Good early evening set menu with reliable good quality food
Expensive if not eating off the set menu options but good quality food
I always eat from the set menu options. The steak Frites and the chocolate pot are always a winner
Great atmosphere, excellent food and attentive service. Would visit again, .
We are regular diners at Cote, because it offers good value and plenty of choice for those who need to be gluten free. On this occasion, our enjoyment was spoiled by the close proximity of another customer who insisted on shouting at her fellow guests throughout our meal. This is a hazard of the bistro style restaurant where there are no soft furnishings to deaden the noise!
Excellent friendly service - comes highly recommended on any occasion
Cote is always reliable in terms of good food, quiet atmosphere and attentive service. We chose the prix fixe menu and we both started with kalamari. Then i enjoyed my main course of haddock while my guest was complimentary abour her choice of asparagus risotto. Thank you, Cote.
Very good service and surprising value . I have been before with my sim on a wok lunch time but this Saturday was even
This was not our most enjoyable visit to Cote! We sat next to a table of six (three adults and three children). They were quite the noisiest family any of us have ever come across and appeared to be totally oblivious to the impact they were having on other diners. We genuinely could not hear ourselves speak! On top of that, the service was rather slow, so.....! As always, the food was fine.
Good service, good food nothing really to fault. Would recommend
Best place in Winchester for a quality meal at a reasonable price
Had a lovely meal as usual, I had had a fall prior to coming to the restaurant and hurt my foot and the staff were very attentive.
Food and service, as always, excellent. The noise level gets a little high, but it’s only to be expected when the restaurant is in full service. That in itself speaks volumes, on a Friday lunchtime, of how good Cote Winchester is.
A very good lunch before shopping with my relatives before shopping.
Lovely food and friendly service. Our regular favourite place to eat in Winchester.
Food quality very good. Service good, although waited too long for a child's meal requested to be served as soon as possible. Manager apologies and deducted cost from bill, but would have preferred the meal being served when requested.
One meal arrived too cold for our friend, however this was rectified very quickly. Overall, an enjoyable experience.
We enjoyed our lunch very much as usual. All excellent.
This was a difficult lunch with my family coming together following a family berebment
Great food, Good Service by Lydia. Always a nice atmosphere. Will be back again soon.
Great experience with lovely food and staff. Very relaxing environment.
Very good selecation of starters on the set menu, although one of the main courses (fish) featured quite a lot of courgette as did one of the starters, which made that combination a bit unbalanced.
good food, nicely served, good service; fair value for money
Very good and up to the standard I expect of Cote
Friendly but slow service; sardines and sea bass both unpleasantly oily; rib-eye steak over cooked - much more than medium-rare requested. Despite arriving punctually for our table it was all served too late to send back - our guest had another appointment at 2.30pm. This Cote again disappoints compared with Salisbury.
Lunch for 2, chilly day, very nice, waitress a bit supercilious
Consistently good all round. The staff are outstanding - so friendly we feel part of the family. They know that we like to be in a quieter area, thoughtfully find one for us and even advise where they know a large noisy table is about to arrive! We love how the food changes with the seasons.
My friend and I were celebrating our birthdays in style!
Large noisy party on arrival but they were in for breakfast and went shortly after our arrival. Very good meal we all enjoyed it and remark on the good service too.
Booked at 6pm, arrived at 7.50 and the food was on the table by 8.15 and that meant I was in bed ON TIME! Great
Relaxed dining on a Friday lunchtime with family and friends
