Côte Winchester

We loved the food and the atmosphere. A kitchen problem was well covered with extra bread and olives. Service polite and friendly and we all thoroughly enjoyed the experience.

Lovely meal and fab service at the Winchester Cote today, we will certainly come back again next time we visit!

We arrived 30 mins early in the hope we could have our table and we could! We were so pleased. The waiter was very attentive and brought the menus to us immediately while getting our drinks. The food we selected, from the Christmas menu was superb. I had Duck Confit a l'Orange, my partner had the haddock, with starters and desserts, the whole evening was excellent value, but also to be highly recommended. We will definitely visit again when we are in Winchester.

Booked a table, as requested, allocated a place by a window. Good service, unhurried, appropriate time between courses. I use this restaurant quite frequently for a decent meal at a reasonable price.

Unfortunately,the food was very poor. The langostine starter was overcooked, my steak was not cooked to my likening, even after sending the first one back. My friends haddock parmentier, the saucewas so runny, it was inedible. The worst Cote i have ever been in.

Lovely food and nice atmosphere. Also very attentive staff who even phoned to let me know my friend had dropped her phoned by our table when we left. Great service !

Service slow to start with but only server for all tables. After advising we were going to the Panto Katie could not have been more helpful and sped up the food order and service. Katie knowledgeable about allergies and advised the kitchen if what my sister could and could not eat (gluten and dairy allergies). Thank you ! Food good and tasty thank you Tea very poor - a big tea pot requires two tea bags not one! Also when it is refilled it needs new teabags not the old one which resulted in a second cup of grey water not tea!

Slow service, forgot to bring our hot drinks, food not as good a usual and incorrect bill at the end. Shame as we usually enjoy Côte.

After many visits to Cote Restaurants, particularly in Salisbury, we were extremely disappointed with the level of service that we had in Winchester Cote. 12.5% service charge was not earned even slightly. We had to ask for our starter plates to be cleared away and the overall wait for the main course - 50 mins- made us late for the theatre. The food was excellent but eating it in less than 5 minutes was less than enjoyable. The restaurant was neither full nor busy and there appeared to be more than sufficient staff on duty. Disapponting.

Everything took a bit too long and when my food came it wasn’t piping hot!

Thoroughly good experience, excellent meal in pleasant surroundings. We were looked after by Hannah who was delightful and efficient.

The table was cramped (3 in a small space) I ordered roasted sea bass, it was under cooked and cold, the sauce was less than a tea spoon (£15) The roasted vegetables were also cold and soggy. It was the waitresses first day, we were very accommodating and friendly, but we felt rushed and food was taken away before we had finished.

Overall not the best experience that we could have had. We overheard the waitresses discussing how hungover they were, there was a mix up with the order which meant one person didn’t get their meal for 10 minutes after everyone else and the poached eggs were cold inside.

Very disappointed, waited 30 mins for our meal, had to ask what was the problem only to be told an oven had broken down. Problems do happen but it would be better to communicate with customers instead of leaving them sitting.

A regular, annual meeting with friends. Cote always delivers. Food and service excellent. Very reliable.

Lovely meal and good fast service. Just a bit noisy at times, by staff clattering bottles and cupboard doors.....maybe just where my friend and I were seated upstairs.

A lovely lunch for a special celebration! Cassoulet was particularly good - shame its not available more often. A really pleasent dining experience - so much better than your Basingstoke branch!!!

Nice place, no loo rolls ( told waitress) and that was very early in the evening! Food wasn’t piping hot but perhaps that’s just us. Service was fine but not particularly friendly but courteous. Very busy which may have been why They ordered us a taxi which was great

The food was great but unfortunately the service was quite slow.

Delicious food, and good service not rushed and asked to move to another table as didn’t want to be by the door and they obliged straight away and we moved tables.

Cheerful, patient waiter looked after us very well . meals served together and hot . Dishes declared delicious . No grumbles at all !
