Côte Winchester

We were a large group of 18, who had chosen individually and pre-ordered from either the Early Evening menu or the Prestige menu. The evening was a great success. We were well looked after, and enjoyed the food. Well done Cote. Thank you

Always consistent is what keeps me coming back on my visits to the UK. I just wished there was a chain of them in Texas.

We had an early meal for my family and the service, food and meal was all that I have grown to expect from Winchester Cote.

Really nice relaxed atmosphere at this restaurant, was greeted and sat at our table by a lovely waiter who looked after us all evening, the food was delicious & presented lovely...this is so far the best cote that we have visited.

Lovely lunch with family & friends. The food was delicious, from the starters (french onion soup & beef tartare) to the mains (chateaubriand for two, lamb & chicken) to the puddings (chocolate fondant & creme brulee). The service might have been a touch more attentive, but overall we really enjoyed our meal and we will return.

Staff were friendly and efficient but we were disappointed with the meal. My friends duck was tough but tasty. My fish was very nice but I felt that it was over priced as there was fish, fennel and a sauce for just under £16. Had it included some form of potatoes I would have been happy with mine.

35 minutes to produce 2 main courses, no starters. would have had desserts but ran out of time. duck breast dish could have been bigger

we were a large family party 10 adults and 3 enfants in high chairs I had booked using a phone call to local branch to ensure party was catered for but unfortunately the table laid couldn’t cope and another had to be laid Our waitress was brilliant but kitchen extremely slow Food was excellent on arrival.

My partner had a very good meal, good choice. Mine was a disaster! Dryer out sardine fillets overcooked with croutons fried in stale oil...still can’t get rid of the taste. A 40 minute wait for the next course which was more dried out fillets...this time chicken. I sent it back and declined to eat anything else. Sadly it rather spoilt our day out. To be fair my partner enjoyed his meal very much and the staff did their best, but overall a disappointing experience

On the whole we had an enjoyable evening. My only concern was that I didnt realise the fillet steak was peppered as well as the sauce. Otherwise the food was excellent. As a footnote, we had our wedding reception with you, and that was a success.

The food was delicious, expertly cooked. The wine pairing option was also good and matched well. The service however was poor with some things not arriving (amuse-bouche) which other tables did receive, some things arriving at the wrong time (olives for with aperitif arriving with main course) and the drinks arriving at least 30mins before the course they corresponded with meaning the white wine warmed. We also received dirty glasses and when we pointed them out the waiter said they were simply coated with detergent and poured our drinks into a new glass rather than replace the drink, and no apology.

Such a great experience.Lovely lunch.Excellent service and wonderful place.We will come back.

General opinion, why put on a new menu on New Year’s Day if the kitchen cannot cope? We are v regular customers but the delay between courses was unacceptable and the serving staff suffered unfairly as they are always first class.

brought my elderly mother in law to Sunday lunch yesterday. She has mobility issues and they were very caring and attentive towards her.

Kitchen was very slow. 90 minutes to get to main course. 3 guests not having starters. Butternut squash ravioli badly misdescribed on menu. Overloaded with chives. Not an Italian thing to do. Not mentioned as a major flavour element. Person ordering (no starter) hates chives. Sage is mentioned but is little more than a garnish. Butternut squash undercooked and hard -- not the ravioli filling (cp pumpkin ravioli) and expected from menu wording. Goats cheese filling grainy and curdled-looking. Everything else excellent but occasion wrecked by this disastrous, misdescribed, misconceived and poorly executed dish. That and a kitchen not coping...

Welcoming and friendly service. Couple of minor issues - forgot to bring mustard / ketchup and extra water. Also don't like being asked for 12.5% optional gratuity when almost 30% of the bill is for wine! On the whole an enjoyable visit with good food.

I have been to a few of the Côte restaurants. Winchester was pleasant, food was lovely. It was the Saturday before Christmas so obviously busy but the staff were friendly. I always enjoy going to a Côte restaurant but on this occasion the table we sat at was by the door staff use to go for their break outside (fortunately we didn’t smell the cigarette smell) but even without being sat next to the outside door my friend and I were both very cold throughout our meal, resulting in my friend putting her coat back on.

What can I say, my family of all ages just loved their evening meal together at Cote. We had an excellent waiter, who really looked after us, and from all the empty plates he could see how much everyone enjoyed their food. It was Granddads treat and I thought the whole experience was very good value, they all cannot wait for Granddad to treat them all again. But then he is a regular at Cote and loves it!!!!!

We were visiting Winchester for a pre Christmas break and my Birthday. We chose to visit Cote Brasserie as we had visited the branch in Cardiff Bay before and had a lovely time. We had lovely evening . We were welcomed and offered a choice of tables. We chose one opposite the bar. We chose the premier set menu which had good choices and we wanted to have 3 courses. The food and service was excellent. Our server Miron was friendly and professional. We enjoyed a relaxed meal and the time allowed between courses was just right. We had time to talk and relax and were ready to enjoy the next course. We enjoyed a lovely bottle of red wine with are meal. As we were having such a lovely time opted to enjoy another drink each before leaving. The only very minor criticism was my partner's steak was a little overcooked. He had asked for medium. However he still enjoyed it. Will definitely visit Cote Brasserie again.

Katie, our waitress coped very well at a very busy time serving our table of 9.

The staff were not able to cope with the number of people- we had to wait 50 minutes before our breakfasts arrived, and then it was only after we enquired about our food. Disappointed as previous experiences here have been good.

Excellent value breakfast served in a friendly, professional manner and a welcome break from Christmas shopping! We will return.
