Good food as ever and felt safe from a COVID perspective. We went on a Tuesday night so it was quite quiet, but far from dead, just not back to the buzzing levels of the past. Still a very good night out.
Very good as always, especially now the French onion soup back on the menu. (who thought it was a good idea to take it off for the summer?) Great service and a lovely outdoor area to sit in
2 out of the 4 main meals were on the cooler side of warm. French onion soup was heavily Peppered. Area where we were seated lights were out and not working
Lovely Anniversary Breakfast, English Breakfast sausages superb, cooked excellent.Tea in pots.
Another very enjoyable experience, enhanced by being outside in the courtyard on an unexpectedly sunny September day. Food and drink well up to standard and service was welcoming, friendly and efficient. Covid hygiene rules followed without fuss. The rhubarb martini was fabulous!
Overall we enjoyed our visit for the wife's birthday. The food quality was very good and we liked the courtyard area although felt a bit exposed in the middle. Booking was very easy. The downside was the service speed between getting menus and taking orders of mains and desserts as there was only 1 waiter serving a large area outside and in and he kept getting locked out outside when the fire door shut. My wife had to try to find him at one point and he forgot to bring a sauce I had ordered. I think the menu choice has shrunk since our last visit but that is understandable due to COVID. I had budgeted for £35 a head but it came out at £44 due to two spirits.
Amazing as always. Very good food, great service. Will recommend to everyone
We enjoyed a lovely lunch at Cote St Albans today - so nice to sit outside in the autumn sunshine warmed by the patio heaters enjoying yummy food and great service by Giovanni
The Brunch was only ok. Lukewarm eggs that turned up only seconds after being g ordered is never a good sign.
Always have enjoyed the breakfasts but last 2 times have been disappointing . Poached eggs completely cold on both occasions and on last visit Veggie breakfast was missing avocado. Not serious enough to worry the staff about since now is difficult enough for everyone already, but standards do seem to be slipping
Warm welcome beautiful breakfast as usual and professional happy staff
It was the first time that my friend and has been and felt a ‘normal’ atmosphere. The restaurant was lovely and busy People laughing Staff were attentive Food was delicious
Lovely evening and very well looked after. Staff were extremely professional.
Fabulous food, my son’s fillet steak was fantastic and my Breton Fish stew was absolutely delicious. Great service, very friendly and efficient stuff. The layout seemed the same as before the lockdown which is fine as it has always been quite spacious between the tables. There’s a new rule to put on a mask when you enter the restaurant and they would provide you with one if you don’t have one. Fine by me. As long as we’re all safe and enjoy our evening. Well done to Cote ❤️
Polite staff, safe environment and excellent food. Great place for a simple meal of good quality.
Sat outside, felt very safe as tables spaced apart and staff wearing visits. Food was delicious and so were yummy rhubarb cocktails!
Attentive service and good food overall. My daughter ordered a medium steak, that turned out to be rather on the rare side but the staff quickly replaced the whole meal without a fuss. It was a good steak though!
I would just like to thank the front of house/receptionist who was so nice, engaging and really efficient ( what a change form the normal we see nowadays). Didn't ask her name but she lived in Harpenden. Please convey our thanks.
Always enjoy dining at Cote in St Albans. Friendly staff, great service and great food too.
Service was excellent food delicious , atmosphere relaxed ...free rhubarb Martinis where fabulous
Great food, good service and reasonably priced! We all enjoyed it :-)
Amazing hidden garden and very good service! The new brunch menu is very nice too
Lovely brunch at St Albans. Always good, polite and Covid safe service. Our second meal in 2 days!
Excellent food, great service and nice atmosphere. Thank you for your great work to keep us safe!
An another great experience, great stuff and really nice atmosphere.
A nice meal overall, but a definite feel that the waiting staff were just going through the motions. As soon as the waiter had placed our drinks on the table, he continued his conversation with his colleague/mate. We were also given the wrong bill initially. And when my steak frites were brought to the table the waitress dropped the frites all over the floor. Overall, not our best experience of a Côté Brasserie. I’m also confused about how you have my email address when I only gave my phone number to the member of staff at the entrance?
It's always god, but our two main waiters were very attentive and seemed happy in their work; it's good that numbers seem to be building up.
Great experience as always, great food and service in a lovely atmosphere
Very good service and food. Tables well spaced out. We will come again.
Everything was very good. Food, staff and the way the experience was made "covid-proof". Glad Cote Brasserie is back. :)
Missed the daily menu you always had, which our meal a little pricey for a week day but it was good to see you back
Excellent service good food always of the highest standards although restaurant not busy still had a good atmosphere
We really love the food here, the staff is very friendly and welcoming and the back patio is lovely.
Lovely food and excellent service. The gluten free option on the menu provides better choice than many other restaurants.
lovely food , very friendly service , good value for money, quiet when we were there due to time of day so slight lack of atmosphere , especially due to social distancing, but over all a lovely time and will definitely go again
We deliberately picked a quiet time to visit as we are seniors and need to be cautious. Very pleased with our table and the food was Cote’s usual good standard. However, we experienced a variety of servers which, even allowing for shift changeover, was far too many. Most restaurants ensure one server throughout a meal so we should have had just two, not five. A server picked up cutlery with ungloved hands to bring to our table. Other restaurants are not doing this. More disturbing was seeing several people call in to the restaurant apparently to speak to their friends, ie servers. One server SHOOK HANDS with a friend who then proceeded to put his arm round his shoulders. This is how asymptomatic transmission occurs and, until Cote can assure me that CV protocols are being observed, we do not feel it is safe to return.
This was our first time back to Cote following the easing of restrictions and it was not the same as in the past. We were served our starter, which we were sharing, with no side plates or cutlery, we had to wait until a staff member came back into the garden before it could be addressed. My main course, Breton Fish Stew, was served without bread. I was told that this would have to be ordered separately now. In the past it was always included. After all the great memories of eating out at Cote, we felt that the standards have slipped.
Great stuff, amazing atmosphere and even better food. Definitely I will come back soon.
The service was very efficient and friendly and the food was delicious
Came today with my friend for a quick brunch and we really enjoyed our visit. The food was very tasty and the staff was super friendly and helpful. Recommend to visit this place :)
Thank you! Everything was geat from the start. Beutifull lady was giving us so mamy choices of tables!! Waiter was funny and able to answer all questions. We will see you soon!
Lovely as always, great food, great martini and great staff, What else could you want.
Lovely evening great service great food - had a lovely outside table with a heater.
Enjoyable meal. Service good but side should come with main-we had to wait.
I was pleased that you are now open earlier than previously, for brunch, which I have always loved before. Today however I did not enjoy mine. Firstly, I was sad that the ‘Formule’ deal including a breakfast, juice and hot drink is no longer offered. So I paid extra to have all three items. The orange juice was watery and clearly not freshly squeezed. The bacon was smoked and not great. The fried eggs were undercooked. Also, previously we had always had lovely jam on the table: today I had to go out of my way to ask for it. So, - a more expensive bill, and a lesser standard breakfast. Because I am on your mailing list I had received the offer of a free rhubarb martini. I wasn’t sure if this was applied to brunches or not so asked the waitress, who told me I’d have to have booked through the email link, - and she wasn’t sure of what times the martini could be claimed. Not helpful!!!
Brilliant brunch menu offered 10am to 2pm. It was 11.30 and we were looking for somewhere to eat but it was a bit late for breakfast menus and most places weren’t starting lunch until 12 but we saw the brunch sign and the menu outside. It was perfect - I had the poulet grille (delicious butterfly chicken with creamy mushrooms and dauphinoise potatoes) and my daughter had full English breakfast. With two pots of tea and service it was just under £30. Good service and social distancing - it was busy enough to have a bit of atmosphere but no problem getting a table as a walk in at that time. We’ll be back!
As always the staff are lovely the food is delicious and Cote never disappoints
