A birthday outing to our local Cote which proved to be most enjoyable. The vegetarian menu was excelelnt as was the regular menu.

I eat at Cote quite regularly and have always found the atmosphere welcoming, the staff very friendly, and the food good. I have booked to come on Thursday, but the friend who was coming with me telephoned to say she is going into isolation, so I will have to cancel I will do that this morning

My friend and I had the most delightful salad nicoise at Cote today in the garden area which was very quaint & airy. A delicious rosé blush followed by a lovely café- we could’ve been in the South of France!! The service was impeccable by super friendly efficient staff and the food was delicious 😋 We will definitely be returning again - Thank you Cote ☺️

Finally managed to get a table after lockdown and pleased to say that this restaurant has lost none of its charisma, lovely to see the friendly and attentive staff again and the food was second to none, a firm favourite with my family and I have no hesitation in recommending this establishment to visitors to St Albans. Great to see you back.

Love Cote. Go very often and have never had a bad meal - before today. I ordered the rib eye steak and could only eat half, and that was a struggle. Very grisly, I could hardly cut it. I gave up in the end. I have still given 3 stars as the staff as usual were delightful, and I will go back but definitely will not have that steak again :(

Unfortunately I did not have a good experience. As lockdown was announced and all my Christmas plans had to be cancelled I hurriedly booked a table at Cote St Albans. I chose this restaurant as a previous meal there had been delicious. However, my visit did not start well. My drinking glass smelt very odd (my guest’s did not) it was replaced with another glass that smelt of fish! (probably from the dishwasher) I ordered the chargrilled Breton chicken with garlic butter but the chicken was so cold the butter wouldn’t melt. The waitress kindly took it away to be heated up but unfortunately by the time it came back my guest had almost finished her meal and the chicken was now only luke warm and with only a tiny trace of the garlic butter. I didn’t eat much of the meal as I really didn’t want to eat chicken that had been re heated but was still not piping hot. I felt very awkward about returning my meal yet again as I was aware of being a bit of an awkward customer and it didn’t make for a particularly enjoyable dining experience for me or my Mum who at this time had now finished her meal. The restaurant was not busy at the time, in fact we commented on how many empty tables there were but this was probably because we had booked an early table. Really disappointed 😔

Excellent service and food. So pleased we managed to get two tables before Tier 3 closure this December. It allowed us to celebrate my son’s birthday well. Thanks to all and can’t wait to see you again in 2021.

We like Cote restaurant's generally and have had some great meals there. Unfortunately tonight was average with poor quality steak and service. To be fair the cost of the steak was deducted because it wasn't eaten. We will return as we appreciate that these are difficult times for everyone.

Thank you - when we heard we were going to tier 3 we decided to go out as it’s been months. The only place we (me and my 2 teenagers) could agree on was Cote. Was delicious (steaks are always cooked exactly right!) and lovely service and felt very safe Covid-wise. See you soon xx

Our server was fantastic. We were seated outside to abide by covid rules, they sat us under cover by a heater and gave us blankets to use. The blankets were a nice touch. The food was delicious! Would definitely recommend.

We normally have a 6 star experience at Cote. Sadly my carer and I both had upset stomachs shortly after leaving. This is very unusual for us.

We sat outside and the heaters made it lovely and cosy. Great service, great food and very Covid secure.

Food and service for breakfast /brunch was all great. One thing I would say is that you are clearly catering to children with a children's menu etc. Therefore it would be useful to have some sets of children's cutlery, or at least slightly smaller than the massive knives and forks that are available. Even a dessert fork would do, rather than having specific sets.

Very welcoming, lovely atmosphere, very nice in spite of restrictions. More pleasant on a Saturday evening than before the virus hit when restaurant was always very noisy.

Perfect service and perfect food. Eggs avocado were extremely tasty. Had a table in the window as requested but unfortunately every time the front door opened there was a chilly drought despite a velvet curtain between our table and the door. Will go back and choose a different table!

Always good food and the breakfast is one of the best in the area.

Seems we always visit Cote for a meal & thought shall we try another restaurant - NO we always get good value & food is always an excellent standard therefore Cote was our choice. We booked Friday 11th Dec. at 6.00pm, little atmosphere to start with before people left, we left approx 8pm then started to get busy. Love the Cote.

For breakfast advertise a side of roasted tomatoes arrived half a blanched tomato on plate ? Sent back explained ordered roast tomato dish got another half tomato blow torched . Food was lukewarm sadly and we had to ask for our mamosas twice which arrived after food . Not terribly impressive and won’t rush back . Waiting staff helpful though on a positive note .

Thoroughly enjoyed our first meal back out after lockdown with you. Great environment to have a meal for two which is private and comfortable with just the right amount of bustle going on around you. Lauretta, as always, looked after us impeccably. Thank you.
